  • So... he dropped out? O_o

  • Inspiring as hell.

  • did you just like film this yourself and act like its an interview. that's kind of pathetic.

  • @gavinjamesaitken1

As pathetic as posting a video of still images of an 8 year old car and adding a dance track to it?

  • this kid is a genius this was 2008 check him out now signed to atlantic, justin bieber, wow

live ya dream, do ya thing, never ever listen to the haters. IM SO INSPIRED!!!!

  • hey dude its pronounced "keltic" even though its spelt "celtic"

  • I guess you`re talented as a producer but musically your stuff is crap. Don`t hate me for that, it`s my personal opinion

  • nice vid

  • yo how did you really get started?

  • @bbsc34 Dude did you even watch the video

  • Storch is the best man. The master of layering. And when he reaches for that pitch bend, other producers are in troubleeee! haha

  • did u take any piano classes? or just learned it by yourself?

    gr8 music btw.....5/5

  • Oh no man!... Most good musicians are good in school. Specialy math and science. I play more than 16 intruments.. and I wanna go back to the university. I hope this don't get kids thinking they don't need education. Cause education is FUNDAMENTAL. Look up that word and see what it means.

  • @AiRamosPro I definitely agree. There are great educational opportunities everywhere, from Juilliard to Berklee and everything in between. Really hope the traditions of music education stay alive and well.

  • @MdLProductions You got that part right. But I was talking about school in general. Unfortunately many love music & many would love 2 work with music. But not everyone will be working with music.. There wouldn't be any doctors, lawyers, teachers.. etc. In this day & age, many are like hipnotized by music, & do nothing else, while the artists are banking their money. I say, go to school & it'll fill a lot of empty spots in your brain! You can't afford it? Continued..........

  • @MdLProductions Continued... (You can't afford it?) Then go to a community college or somewhere where u can get financial aid. Once u in, get serious, get good grades, forget partying too much & u might be able to transfer to a more prestigious university. The reason a lot of Asians are smart, is not so much cause of their genes. But because they are forced to study by their parents. Meaning that if you don't feel smart enough, u might still get nothing but A's. Continued.....

  • @MdLProductions Continued....... (nothing but A's) If u study & work hard enough. You must love what u do. Even me! I might love music way too much, but there's other stuff I love too. Science 4 example. So you won't die if you don't do music (I don't think). I say all this in reply to MDLPro. But I'm not necessarily talking to him. Yet I might be. He is good at this. But even he can benefit from a PhD.. And he is not out of this world good. So a degree in piano is a good idea. Continued..

  • @MdLProductions Continued.. (good idea.) My main point since the get go, is that school is FUNDAMENTAL not so much for what u end up doing, but because it educates you (is supposed to anyway). What happens if you don't? Look around! Artist, sports icons & etc. that may feel they're albe to do what they please & iis ok.. or not get punished. e.g. come out of a game after loosing, & braking stuff. A man or woman that can't control their emotions, are headed 4 destruction or failure. Continued...

  • @MdLProductions Continued...(destruction or failure). Perhaps, not total destruction. Hopefully for him or her. In another chart... MDL has worked enough to get were's he is at right now. I suppose. Although he aint the best, he is pretty good at what he does. And one gains nothing by envying him. Persevere & u might be there too.

  • "I hope this don't get kids thinking they don't need education. Cause education is FUNDAMENTAL. Look up that word and see what it means."

No disrespect AirRamosPro, but one doesn't need schooling to become educated. In fact, it helps to distinguish that education and schooling aren't the same. Education doesn't only happen inside a classroom, but through pratical application and real life experience.

  • @corndogers564 No disrespect taken. Sure it doesn't. I don't pretend education will teach you all values. That should happen at home. Right? No disrespect to u either. But u can also look up that word. "EDUCATED". In simple words, above average knowledge. Where else can u get that? I know. Do u know? There's lots of people that graduated from an university & still commit crimes. But check the stats, & see. All knowledge ends up been self knowledge. May I suggest u see "The Blind Side" movie.

  • @corndogers564 And lastly. I don't wanna front like I have some college time or university. Cause I don't. Just a high school diploma and military experience. Marines to be extact. But I wll go back to a university if God permits. I know how FUNDAMENTAL it is. Not to mention an above average pay, if you are smart about your choice of career.

  • @AirRamosPro, I see where you're coming from. And yes, all knowledge inevitably is self-knowledge. It;s how we've emerged new leaders with their paradigms, inventions, and revolutions throughout humanity that has radically pushed humanity froward. A lot of which haven't been the product of formal education.

Being educated, whether informal or formal, does go a long way!

  • @corndogers564 What are you talking about? Einstain was educated & he spent like 15 yrs trying to make sence out of something his idol Newton couldn't do. And the guy with the telescope.. etc etc. All this people had a pattern of studying. So you rather the future generation 2 go 2 school no matter what? (of course if u can). Or tell them..you don't have to go to school to be educated.

I see your point too, but I wouldn't encorage anybody with those words. Not at this moments anyways.

  • @AirRamosPro, Einstein did in fact drop out of high school around the age of 15 because he hate its boring, compulsory nature. He says: "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he has learned in school". Yes, all these people had a pattern of "studying". And again, he is just one example, in many examples.

I'm not advocating that our future generation should leave school, but rather education doesn't come from an institution alone.

  • @corndogers564 Yeah some may had done studying in their own, but times have changed. I have a relative that is a 30+ yrs. in physical therapy, & has a Masters in divinity. I have taken those books & done studies of my own sometimes four or six hrs. I can assure u I know more than the average (non graduated). Greek. Hebrew. Grammatical notations. Present participles..etc. I've done paper that would impress teachers. But if I wanna know better I must go to SCHOOL. I can't replace that on my own.

  • For certain careers such as becoming a doctor, lawyer, or the sciences, then school would be a great idea; there is really no way around it. However, with this day and age with the moving space of technology, the internet has literally millions of resources and information.

Less we forget, studying is only one part of education. It isn't how much you've memorized information from a book sitting in a classroom. The application of that knowledge to real life is how you learn.

  • @corndogers564 So what's the end discussion here. How we end this..

How bout.. you are right. You win! Haha.

    Ta ta...

But education is a must.. & if one can do it, unless something way better is on the path... wish is usually not the case... then school would be a good choise in my opinion. It's been fun & kinda anoying talking to you. You did show respect all the time. Thank you. P.S Not everybody can do what MDL does, so other options should be sought. for making a living. Legal. haha.

  • @AiRamosPro lol These are just opinions none the less, neither of us are "right or wrong". Just points of views being expressed here. But we'll end it here!

Anyway MDL, keep doing what you're doing man! You have the talent!

  • mdl is not good man

    hes is fucking amazing!

  • good luck man.......... you inspire me to make my own songs and i hope u do well.

  • hey where did u get that desk?

  • good luck mann you inspire me

  • WHAT sequence software do you use

  • cubase

  • nope its Steinberg Nuendo

the skin shows like Cubase, but its not the same =)

  • are you sure? because he dedicated a whole video to cubase and doing a review of it. but that does make a lot of sense. you into this beat makin shit too?

  • hmm...

since July he's using the Cubase 5 but before he use Nuendo.... Look at the Video description....

but in my opinion the best audio sequencer is Logic Pro 9 ;-)

    Peace from Germany =)

  • lmao

  • cubase I believe...

  • smart kid

  • he just got signed. he is one of them.

  • shut up yu fuckin hater

  • And why does it have to be said?

  • lol, u do knowthis dude has ust been signed ? haha. So he is prob much better than you will ever be

  • You got talent my dude. keep doin what u do.

  • keep-doing-ur-thing

  • Man the MV-8800 is better than a mpc, i like it cause of the monitor and mouse connection to it! You see what you are doing on the MV-8800 playboy....you heard me! I love it, not saying i don't like the mpc see i like anthing that sample!

  • you've come along way from this vid..

    your doing things right now,

    let people hate.

Lol haters are always funny cuz they're

offended that your better than them

  • good for you dude, go for it.

  • bro mdl u take yourself wayyy to seriously

  • what a fucking waste of time this is

  • yeh but stil gota b a rich kid to afford all tht shit frm the start? espec at young age

if u could check out the beat i made

  • yo yo i been watchin ya videos for lyk a year now b u juss keep gettin better nd better !, da beats is juss ridicilous lool maadd respeecctt ma nig !

    **KoN**

  • You have nice tracks playboy.....i am Rob aka Hot Boy,from Louisiana. I am a producer too...i use Roland's Juno-G synthesizer, MV-8800 Production Studio....i still want Reason 4.0 and FL Studio XXL Producer Edition too!!!!!!!!!! Love your music.....do it big then whoadie!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yo man what do you think of the mv8800 - ive heard there built poorly i have an mpc 1000 and thinking about upgrading. what do you think man cheers

  • it's aiight, I would keep your 1k and get a synth if you dont already have 1.

  • this dude is beast, I hope he really becomes a Pollow or a Timbo some day.

  • check his discography on his myspace

  • i have one question:

have you made any songs, for I can not find any???

    i see u have a good studio,but only that.

  • speaks allot truth

  • listen to my tunes

  • I can make good beats but am learning to mix my songs right now and that is a whole other thing...

  • YEAH..

  • can anybody tell me the name of the 2nd song in the backround

  • have you ever took piano lessons?

  • Hallo MDL! I gotta say, I really admire you. I hope I can be in your posission some day! keep up the good work!

  • the thing i like about u as a producer is you arnt cocky like some of em... u seem to like what you do and that make your stuff goooood.... keep doin ya thing pimpin

  • You're young, think bout 10years down from now. You'll be up there with Ryan Leslie's level

  • I love all your music and that but I really dont agree with you dude, music is about SELF expression, not selling yourself to the commercial market in order to make money. Think about Pete Rock, he was one of the most influential people in Hip Hop in the early days and his stuff was no where near "the same as what everyone else was doing". If you want to be influential theres got to be something coming from your heart

  • I completely agree with you..Thats why I was talking about doing what other people haven't done with ur beats...you gotta make it personal so that way people can say yeah thats mdl's beat not be like oh just a dude trying to be like jr rotem

  • HAHA someone else agrees about my philosophy when it comes to music.

  • Come on dude, every1 is in the game for their own reasons. If there was no heart involed then do you think his beats would sound this good

  • ok...so umm..i use the exact same shit as this dude..cubase and fl studio...number 1) i guarantee he didn't buy any of that shit..and he's talking all about pirating music..i know enough people who haven't spent a dime on cubase or fl studio..lol..but either way you made a statement about being influential..you can't be influential when ur beat sounds like the average jam that you bump to these days

  • also...the reason these big producers make it..is cuz they do something different..pharell came in and drop in jazz chords on beats..jr rotem came in and started using a classical music style on his beats..timbaland came and probably has the sickest set of drums used in music today..what do u have that they do not already have?? thats the question..people have to listen to ur music and be like yah..thats mdl but right now its just the average stuff i hear everyday...nothing special.

  • so your basically saying people who been producing a couple of years that havent pointed out a unique style should give up and the dream ?, how long all the above producers been in the game ?

    what 15 - 20years ? maybe more ?

    imagine this guy in 10 years . . . .

and if you knew anything you would know its 70% skill 30% luck.

u could be the most talented producer in the world and not make it big

and you could be an average sampler, and make it, jus the way it is

  • totally agree with u........and btw its not about how long you been making music its about your own immagination

  • but im sure with enough experience you'll get something

  • Just be yourself in music, and your own unique voice will come through your music. It's not that these producers made it because they did something "different", they were just being themselves. When it comes to music or any form of art, everyone has something say. Music is about self-expression and fun!

  • its really funny how you people (buttzuess or whatever your name is) spend your time commenting on youtube videos hatin and shit. The man is just sharing an opinion on the industry. he didnt come off at all as arrogant or cocky. Get off the man's dick. You sound like pissed off "producers" who never made it

  • I was giving him some advice,

i work in this industry, if you choose to believe me or not i dont care, but i see guys like MDL on a daily basis, and very few of them have any success past their bedrooms.

MDL is a bedroom producer, and there are hundreds of thousands of people just like him across the globe, only a handful will ever be paid for their work, that is the reality of it.

  • And im not the only person that has commented on his ego and arrogance, many others have to, we dont all hate him, or are "haters"?

I dont hate him at all, i have nothing to hate him for, im just telling him how he is coming across in this video because he will only lose fans with videos like this, i think that is evident already from a lot of the negative comments he has recieved here.

  • oh and you are pronoucing "celtic" wrong, its pronounced "kell-tick" not "sell-tick".

  • The NBA team the Boston Celtics call themselves the "(sell-tix)". I think you can say it either way, but I'm not sure.

  • no im irish its "kell-tick"

  • lol bro stfu..ur prolly deliver pizza's for a living, or u prolly clean the mixers in the studio,, you kno nothing, Mdl's making major movements man...so stop talkin shit and go write a rap or somthingg..

  • so treu !! kids can make stiff beats and think they the supper producer lmfao

  • Lol you mad? Cause he's accomplished more than you by the age of 18? Who have you produced for?

And I like how you said this to somebody who hated on one of your videos

"you gonna come on my shit to hate just cause everybody hates o yours? nice.."

As you do the same to MdL's video.. He bought his own shit.. and makes his own money..

  • time out bro dont come at me like that...my comment was for homeboy who was suckin on this dudes dick because he can sequence a few chords together with a drum loop. thats all... and PS WHO the FUCK is "MDL" and what are these things you say hes accomplished? looks to me like hes just an average internet producer. making videos on youtube..

  • Ok so since you seem to be a little slow i'll break it down. MdL is the person whose youtube your on and this is his video. Accomplishments? Over one million plays on his myspace? Or how about working with an artist signed to Konvict Muzik? Def Jam? Universal? Jive? I bet those record labels ring some bells. And a couple unsigned guys by the name of Jackie Boyz? I bet you've heard of them. All before 20? I'd say he's got talent.

  • woah... settle down u jealous fuck...

  • u right man kid with toys and a camera....thats it....fruty loops? ain't that a fucken cereal?

  • check his myspace. hes got some accomplishments.. dont hate on dude cause you aint doin it..

  • omg why hate this guy is makin money you fuckin wasteman! if you heard his music not knowing its his u'd fuckiin crease. do your research before cussin man!

  • lol stfu dude im not hating on HIM i just hate everything he stands for (fake fraud ass pretending ass loser fucks) ...ok so yeh i guess im hating on him....at least hes got your vote though right? ...ha pussy ass muhfucka

  • It's sad people like you exist, you must forget every producer comes from somewhere, with this guys ambition and skill he may just be one day one of the top producers in the hip hop industry. He knows what he's talking about and he's only just starting.

  • Go idolize someone that matters, thats all i'm saying.

  • Who's idolizing? There's a difference between admiration, inspiration and idolization, sadly it seems like you take too much pride in your self to feel what an underground producer is doing right? They have to be mainstream to earn your respect? You're not hating on him, just what he represents..which is "fake fraud ass pretending ass loser fucks"....right, some one needs to reconfigure their priorities/manners.

  • you call this dude underground? lmao you tv gen fool... this dude is nothing.. just like the people that bought the 40,000 copies of fruity loops sold last year. You defending what this internet producer stands for in itself is enough evidence that you know nothing of production/music// underground hip hop...

  • tv gen? I don't even watch t.v., and music is music, regardless who it's produced by. You're just a hater. It doesn't matter what "he stands for", I respect anyone who's doing their thing, there's thousands of people who don't do shit with their life everyday, at least he's TRYING to be some body. I know nothing about music? Yeah okay. Maybe not the music YOU'RE interested in but I know enough to know that you're nothing but a hater, flat out.

  • yeh im a hater..you caught me. peace out

  • fair play he's making moves nd stuff but his beats are kinda weak tbh.

  • really? weak? wow, ok hmmm why don't you try to do what he does and achieve the same level of skill as him or even surpass him?

  • yeah i dont get it--all his beats that i hear that are "making moves" are just the same old standard pop shit

i think his other stuff is better.

people fall for the illusion quite easily.

  • good video dude. one bit of advice i would give you is get a job somewhere to make more money to buy more gear to give you more tools to make the beats you want. That way you're not stuck in the house all day!

  • Acting like you know it all, acting like you sound better than all, acting like you are professional, and all and all, you're ACTING.

Stop being arrogant. Nobody wants to open doors for you. And step your game up if you WANT to be anything in the business.

  • amen to that

  • Did u take a class to get where u are? I am going to be taking school online to get my masters certificate in music buisness and technology....Hopefully will be starting that on jan 12 2009 keep up the music making and maybe ill meet up with ya and we can blaze a fat chop and make some tunes when we big and famouse PEACE.... =)

  • ha u must take AP lit.....i had to read that book too

  • Have you ever took Piano lessons? or did you learn most of it by ear?

  • like you have never downloaded any album before, man your so up your own ass the shit must be all over your nose, MDL Massive Dick Lord

  • wow dude ur sucha fag, ur acting like u know everything and ur the best at this shit, ur friend is asking u questions holding the camera hahaha u 2 r queers

  • nah chekk his other vids, hes done beats 4 rappers in the industry. he's been interviewed by online music sites 2.

    Step yo game up son

  • bootcamp via vmware. i do it all the time to use soundforge. im not a peak fan

  • good luck man... always have admire u, your doing it how its supposed to.... hope everything goes well in ur future...and... an advise... study, study and yeah, study... get a degree in sound engineering and really make a living out of it... thats wut im doing now imma sound engineer with 19 years old!! :)

  • im irish. thats cool that u like irish sounds...how did u get to no about irish music and its sound? do u ave relations?

  • good shit man keep it up

  • how are you using FL on that mac?? (i assume it's a mac because of the keyboard)

also at 5:51, where do you get all your kits from??

    do you buy them/download them??

  • actually at 5:56 he actually is on FL Studio. if u look at it, its a totally different program. and not only can i tell by that but if u can zoom in i guarantee there is a step sequencer for fl studio. so b4 u insult someone how about u look.

  • but he also uses FL!

can't u see the giant pepper in the background lol..

    jeez...

    ur the twat lol

  • Macs can run Windows with the BootCamp software.

  • ur a real humble dude man...ive been a fan since the beginning.

if u could watch my vid and maybe leave some tips that would be great

    peace

  • check out my vids im am a new pro skater

  • Hi mdl, thanks for showing us how it's cool to making beat, and than everybody want can make soundz.

    Thx.

  • Nice info....

  • what the best softwar production u like ?

  • depends

  • Starting on youtube and other sites really works like u r doin rite now . look at mysto and pizzi. they got recognized and got to make a beat for r kelly!!! im pretty sure ur gonna get big some time in the future! and make some money!

  • mysto and pizzi got know because their videos had the best video/editing quality. their music really is not any different than any other pop music maker

  • True. But since this guy is young im pretty sure he'll get popular and recognized soon enough.

  • that true

  • he's musically advantaged--thats why

  • anyone who is just starting out and doesnt know anything about music or production, and you wanna be a pro "music producer" ?? .....then you might wanna rething yourself--theres way too many bands/groups theres way too many myspace pages theres way too many bees trying to get to one flower.

i mean shit, go look at the amount of music myspace's

    its rediculous.

  • i'm a producer, i like writing song and making beats. i'm just doing this for fun.

  • agree with you on the issues, spot on pretty much

  • Man you're a big inspiration to young producers ... best believe!

  • hey nice video. man i still watch you old videos,

hey got a question, hopefully u can answere it, what is your favorite song you produce... i'm just wondering

  • DAMN!!! I NEED 2 GET SOME KRK'S!!

  • what kind of computer do you use?

  • Yo, did you just say you were a senior in high school right now?

  • If I was still in school then I would be a senior at the moment. I acquired my GED to pursue music full time.

  • good job man, im 14 trying to do the same right now, lol

  • nice!! hey did u went to skool to learn how to play the piano? u use fl studio? pliz write back i will appreciate it..tnx

  • Man the song at the end is fire!

    Good Statement.

  • I like your watch. Which brand is that????

  • ....... Good interview/update.

  • now a days i don't think it's a realistic dream.. "living of music"

It's all temporarily, you creativity will be draint before you paid up half your mortgage.. if you're lukcy that is, maybe in the US it's easier to cash-in if you have atleast 1 major release that's blow-up. Don't forget you are doing something that everybody is doing, but i wish you good luck and all the best. I love making music and working with artist, but my BMW will be paid from my education and other talents ;-) 1

  • Thx for sharing it with us !!!

  • what it do pimpin! good 2 c ur still on tha grind makin dem beats, keep doin ur thing and ur gonna make it 2 tha top, propz on tha vid

  • Its Sad about the ring tones,,they cost More than the actual full track!! i FEEL u thoe,,ive been making good money Producing even thoe i dont like some of the stuff i do,they pay so u gotta listen<<

  • we're all striving for the same thing.

  • Keep working hard man..you're on your way....

  • very good inspirational video... keep up your great work!

  • What's your day job?

  • Music

  • Where did you go to school for music I've been thinking about getting into Audio Engineering and make money so that I can pursue production on the side.

  • his day job is music.........

  • he replied to me already so I know

  • almost there buddy

  • keep grinding dude may be we might meet one day on the road

  • Great bio/interview man. It really helps to inspire others when you showcase your love, your drive and most of all your work ethic for what you do. I, and I'm sure many others too, are grateful for this glimpse into your life and it's always a pleasure, at least for me, to watch an artist going through his creative process to develop a product whether it be music, writing, design etc..

p.s. You read James Joyce for English class huh.. Lol. Personally I prefer The Catcher In The Rye.

  • Bout time you posted another vid... BleZz up... Keep doing your thing...

  • I wish u would do a video about exactly wat a beginner producer should buy

  • that would be impossible b/c a beginner can buy anything and its very subjective.
