The GOP excels at Faux Patriotism. They used fear & bigotry to lead us into an illegal and criminal invasion of Iraq which pulled troops & resources that should have gone to find & bring bin Laden & his associates to justice. Instead they allowed (on purpose?) bin Laden to escape & then didn't properly equip our troops in Afghanistan & Iraq. Chickenhawks sending troops into war for political purposes is faux patriotism at its worst.
Going to destroy the Obama presidency? Hell didn't the Rep.s do that already? Albeit with Obama's help. Newt's still a dumb ass; HIGH paying jobs so American workers can compete with China? I guess he didn't corporations moving production out of the US to avoid wages that where already significantly higher. US capitalists burned through our natural resource, sold off our production capabilities, so what's next? Cannibalism of sorts, what else is left?

I agree, lets restrict voting to those with an 'interest' in it. While we're at it lets limit military service and taxation to those with 'a stake in the community'. If their stake is so great they should also be the only ones to defend it and the only ones to pay for that defence and up-keep (roads, watermains, police, etc.).
During the Roman Republic only land owners could be in the military.
