That must be big-inch Hemi or wedge you got. It's not even breaking a sweat! That engine will live a long time. I could see time slowing as you accelerate on the straight.
dude, you my friend have an AAM on your hands. (ALL AMERICAN MUSCLE!) awesome ride my friend. how many horses your throwing down? oh, and i love how you fly by that mustang at 1:28. MOPAR OR NO CAR!
It depends on which dyno you use. Its only in the low 800HP range ,because of its low compression, but it does it at 5800 RPM and it makes over 800 foot pounds of torque at 5000RPM. Its a torque MONSTER!! Acceleration is the name of the game. Thanks for all of the kind postings, they make it that much more worthwhile for me.
wow, that is crazy power right there. i love how you say its "only" in the low 800s, haha. but yea, 800 ft. lbs? talk about a face eraser, lol. i would love to have even a magnum challenger. or my dream, 70 charger r/t.
Did you get any video from this past weekend? (VIR Gold Cup 2009) I came up and spoke to you in the pits. Great car. Thanks for letting us all see it.
I am a VIR club member & drive a late model stock car. This video is extreme, wish my car was this fast. This video would be a great training tool. Is there any way that I can download this to a DVD and watch it on a television?
165 mph in a challenger...sonofabitch that thing is fast, that track looks like fun also, your car is making good use of that mtr. i had a 340 challenger, i can aprreciate the advantage of 800 hp...
Your car is freaking fast as hell. I love it. Gota love the sound of that car too. Keep winning those races. And keep posting the vidoes. I love watching these.
It has a home built 4.5 inch bore and stroke 426 Hemi with 11.5 to 1 compression, just like the ones that I used to build 30 years ago. It is making a little over 800hp at the rear wheels at 6000rpm. Thanks for looking
man that was awsome, how did one famous rock band put it...? wasnt it "cause ive got the biggest balls of em all". love how the fiberglass vette out handled the all steel mopar hahahahahahaha
From an "Old School" owner in the 60's (65 GTO Tri-power) the biggest problem in those days was tires. All that hp and no way to hook it up. You could literally drive the tires off the car. This Hemi beast is all hooked up. Still snowplowing through the corners but who cares, this track has two long straights. It's all over but the cryin!
Not a Mopar fan, but that is pretty sweet. great job. it is good to see people show what their vehicles will do instead of just talking crap. great video.
...Reminds me of my '74 Chevelle Malibu that I have right now; Really-Really Fast in a Straight-Line, but taking fast turns in it just isn't reality-based....
He's taking the turns pretty fast actually, it's just hard to see it because the video is fairly good quality. His car is fairly unique because of just how well set up suspension wise it is.
Mr. B I had already poured over your website and I recommend it as required reading for anyone with an interest in vintage racing or racecars in general. What an amazing set of stories.
Thanks for sharing and I hope to see you at an SVRA or other vintage event soon. I often attend with a friend that runs a Plastic Porsche and I hope to catch up with you sometime. Thanks for the video and history.
"Fast" Phil Currin is. Those are clutchless shifts too. He rarely puts a tire wrong and takes no unnecessary risks with any car. Check Glennbunch com for some good pictures, etc. Thanks, Glenn.
I believe the GPS is pretty close. We ran over 180 that day. A month ago at Mid Ohio , we hit 165 to 167MPH. A week later the IRL cars hit 172MPH. See that video too. I have always liked cubic inches. 804-758-2882 Thanks, Glenn Bunch
Its a tube frame , glass body, full belly pan, over braked, over powered, over tired IMSA road race car built in 1978. I will run it more next year. It will be faster. Thanks for looking, Glenn Bunch, check my website.
2700 pounds. 572 CID. 11.5 to 1 comp.Weber Carbs on a Keith Black intake. 890HP at 6200RPM. 790 foot pounds ot torque at 5000RPM. 2.96 rear gear ratio in the video with 17 inch wide, 27 inch tall rear tires.Check my website for more info and pics. Thanks for looking. Glenn Bunch
The Hemi is really a blast to drive. Great power and brakes and handling nearly as good as a Miata. I have been driving the same Miata for 17 years, and this Dodge for 29 years. See you at the races. Glenn.
Glad you liked it. The Dodge is running better and better. My next video postings will have a split front and rear camera, and there will be more of them. Thanks for your comment. Glenn.
Thanks Stann. Mid Ohio is the next race on the 28th. The Dodge and I were last there in 1979. It has been a thirty year work in progress for me to get it where it is today. See you at the races. Glenn

It has a G Force 4 speed ,. Rules require a 4 speed, and not many can handle 800 ft lbs of torque.

What kind of system are you using at the bottom of the video that has speed and RPM recorded with the video? Also what camera system are you using?
long4928 3 years ago
The data system is by Traqmate. The camera system that works with it came from TrackVision.

If the speedo is right, I saw 172MPH on the back stretch on the second lap. I don't think the Rolex DP cars do much more than that right now.
