  • music sucks balls

  • Elektor India sucked when it was run by Century here. The damn kits don't work. Not a single one. The guy that supplied me the PCBs sent them after a year and ripped me off with my last order. I heard he died. PCBs had no masking on them not even a silkscreened component layout. That was way back in 1998. Price of Elektor kits and PCBs are always off the roof. Elektor's got to do something about this. Looks like its snake oil all the way.... for now.

  • I have an oven i bought from Aldi for 23quid..

With no added electronics just me.. I timed it

    6mins warm up @ 100C

    4mins @200C

45secs @250C held until the solder melted (<60sec)

    Held @ 250C for 30 secs

Then door open & turn off oven

    Perfect reflow each time!

That music did my head in.. so i had to mute it!

  • I forgot to say i monitor the oven temp using my laser thermometer.. ;-)

  • Bought one of these ovens, but it didn't work. Elektor have failed to refund in full the nearly £1000 it cost to buy. In addition they are very slow to dispatch, and seem to take a lot of 'holidays'.

My recommendation is not to deal with them - the ebay oven sellers are much more reliable.

  • @mat01 Standard terms of business duly applied and communicated in friendly manner and to the best of our ability. Also, refund offer supplied including return P&P charges i.e. extending well beyond standard terms. Sorry we can’t make it more agreeable to this customer.

  • @ElektorIM

I am dealing with Elektor all the time and can say they don't have a very good dispatch unit. Orders takes months to arrive and always have to follow up a simple order. Also make a lot on shipping and handling. Better avoid Elektor for expensive items. They post from Holland and it is hard to have them liable for their product. I don't believe you have handled customers with care and courtesy.

  • When you dont want to wait 1-2-3 weeks for a stencil then you will use a paste dispenser. Specially for prototype PCB boards.

  • nice music, reminds me of jean michelle jarre

  • DUDE! Use a stencil to aply the paste it only takes 2 seconds.

  • @leosedf And costs over 100$ for manufacture of stencil - which is totally unacceptable for prototyping !

  • @kony9993 pcb-pool offers a FREE laser cut stencil when you buy prototype boards, plus their prototypes cost virtually nothing and even with all that the cost is about 50 euros for boards and free stencil. There are many manufacturers offering that. So there is no excuse for buying applicators and stuff. The time you loose costs more.

  • Das sieht echt einfach aus, da kann ich mich emil nur anschliessen. Was wird das Ding dann etwa kosten? Weiss hier schon jemand mehr?

  • Sieht ja ganz einfach aus. Emil 5
