This version makes me want to cry. I love the harp. I love how Joanna's voice goes so well with the harp. I can't play this song on the harp. I can play only Sprout and the Bean
Oh yeah, I also forgot: There's no such thing as a wrong side to the harp. It's such a beautiful instrument no matter which angle it's seen from. I own 2 of them and I'm proud to own them and to be blessed with talent to play them. Joanna Newsom is also naturally gifted with the harp.
Joanna Newsom! TRUE NORWEIGAN BLACK METAL! HAIL SATAN AND BURN DOWN CHURCHES! She plays the most dark, grim, and frostbitten music ever made. I SHALL GO AND KILL 17 NUNS IN HER HONOR!
umm yeh when you tour and perform for an audience every night it makes it difficult to keep the same pitch...when your in the studio you only have to perform a day at a time...
Thank you for this version. It's amazing, if not the best I've seen.
Her singing is improving a lot. I wish she became a bit more mainstream, just so that I can die knowing that in this day and age you can still have this kind of talent be (somewhat) popular.
sometimes i wish she would just sing normally but.. its what makes her different. shes got a great voice though. come on, shes not bad for live, especially with that massive harp to play.
though the angle may not be great, this is one of the best non-professional videos I've seen of her... the audio doesn't suck and the video doesn't start half way in.
Are you kidding me? Kudos to her for being able to play the harp, but she's gotta be the worst singer I've ever heard. Seriously. I thought it was a joke at first.
I'm surprised that she has even the strength to sing, it must take a lot to play those strings the way she can; when she gets into the song, it gets a little hard to see her hands move.
I am never sick of this song, it always makes me stop whatever I'm doing and just sit and listen.

Yea I prefer this singing to many of her others where she seems to try too hard to twist the notes and sound different.
This is sung smoothly yet still has her unique voice touch to it.

Seems like she stopped trying so hard to sing awkwardly, I defnitely like this better

I love this song. Possibly my favourite of hers. It sounds great with the harp instead of harpsichord.

The first time I heard her, I thought her voice was absolutely terrible. Then, after listened to her over and over, you simply fall in love.
