Brilliant song writer, regardless of what repitition there may be, it has amazing musicality. Many amazing songwriters and performers have repititious bars in their songs that comprise their verses, Nirvana's Kurt Cobain comes to mind, listen to any of their live songs and, regardless of the repitition in the bars, it's hard not to be drawn into the brilliance of the music.

The world needs more Antoine Dufours and Andy Mckee's. His avant-garde approach to songwriting is very impressive and original, and makes perfect sense to me as a musician. Enough going on, presented in a fresh new way, and enough repitition to make it worth hearing everytime.
Ktran11, if progressions all made sense music would be far too predictive. This tune is flashy, your right. But you failed to pick up on other positives - İts funky and extremely quirky. İf you look up the definition of Quirky im sure you will agree with me.
That comment doesn't really make sense. From a musical point of view, the entire song makes perfect sense, and to say it lacks substance is a dubious statement too. I'm not going to say it isn't flashy, but lets face it, who wants to listen to the same idea played 1000 times?
I have to say this piece is quite good for the same ideas maybe but to say it lacks substance with no reason just doesn't make sense.
The title can tell you everything The purpose of the whole song and that song is give off a feeling or a "Strange Vibe" I can tell you that this may be his favorite Progression and that it's his "Groove Progression" It wouldn't make sense if it was out of key but sense that's not the case, it does make sense.
I think the substance this song lacks is a constant bassline. It keeps stopping abruptly while he plays higher notes very fast. That happens in a lot of his songs, which I think makes them sound eerie and "Vibe-y".

The world needs more Antoine Dufours and Andy Mckee's. His avant-garde approach to songwriting is very impressive and original, and makes perfect sense to me as a musician. Enough going on, presented in a fresh new way, and enough repitition to make it worth hearing everytime.

I agree to say it's harder to be sensible to this song, than to Antoine's other compositions.
The dissonances are just to subtle, and he breaks the rythm very oftenly...

Ktran11, if progressions all made sense music would be far too predictive. This tune is flashy, your right. But you failed to pick up on other positives - İts funky and extremely quirky. İf you look up the definition of Quirky im sure you will agree with me.

That comment doesn't really make sense. From a musical point of view, the entire song makes perfect sense, and to say it lacks substance is a dubious statement too. I'm not going to say it isn't flashy, but lets face it, who wants to listen to the same idea played 1000 times?

I have to say this piece is quite good for the same ideas maybe but to say it lacks substance with no reason just doesn't make sense.
The title can tell you everything The purpose of the whole song and that song is give off a feeling or a "Strange Vibe" I can tell you that this may be his favorite Progression and that it's his "Groove Progression" It wouldn't make sense if it was out of key but sense that's not the case, it does make sense.

I think the substance this song lacks is a constant bassline. It keeps stopping abruptly while he plays higher notes very fast. That happens in a lot of his songs, which I think makes them sound eerie and "Vibe-y".

because. it's a more funky one, it doesn't really stop abruptly. Well I like the bassline as it is because it really keeps you interested :)
