  • If you like TOMS shoes, type in "toms gift card" on Ebay and you'll see my auction for a $300 TOMS gift card! It's ending soon and it's going cheap!

  • Just bought my first pair of TOMS today!!!

  • Just bought my first pair of Toms today! :-)

  • I'm getting some, and this makes me even more excited to get them! I wish I could go a day without shoes, I will in the summer!

  • *heart

  • How could you people just hate on Toms like that? They are doing something good, if you don't like it, get over it, you obviously have no great if you think this has no point. kbai c:

  • Just bought some olive colored toms. God bless whoever gets them. :) -3

  • omfg olivia wilde <3

  • All my friends had toms. "I love ur shoes, wher did you get them?" I asked, "aritzia," she answered. 1WEEK LATER... "can we go into aritzia, I really want a pair of toms." As we left the store I read the tag aloud: "with every pair you purchase, toms will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One...... Even better," :)

  • Just took off my shoes. -3 Sadly I've never had Toms. Since I found out about them and that they help kids I've been wanting to buy some and I will. Love you Toms.-3

  • My school took part in One Day Without Shoes (: We all were barefoot of kept our socks on.. It was a very fun day -333

  • The Philippines<3.

  • Exploitive capitalism? I mean what if say, a child got the shoe, he made a week earlier in the sweat shop? Instead of spending £50 on a pair of shoes and getting a pair donated. Why not just buy a cheap pair of shoes and donate money yourself?

  • i love toms

  • Trying to get my school to support One Day Without Shoes this year... :) So pumped if I can make it happen! <3 TOMS <3

  • 2:13 Foster The People?

  • The African governments are so corrupt That is where we should start.

  • i love companies like this. not the hypebeast shit that kids think are cool. invest in a company like this!

  • Just bought my first pair today glad to help make a change.

  • well I know this is for a good cause but y do they hav to be so darn high?

  • check out our channel to learn how to provide clean water to those in need!

  • its a nice thought.. but think of all the local businessmen/owners this organization is destroying.. THEY HAVE SHOES IN AFRICA>>just saying

  • Good for you Tom

  • how could you dislike this

  • 57 people have ugly feet thats why they dont want to walk barefooted

  • JUST got my two new pairs of TOMS :))) love them !!! such a good cause!!!! :D

  • whens the next day without shoes?

  • i dont understand why people would dislike this ??? its to awesome to dislike..... i guess some people dont have a heart

  • Where can you buy Toms?

  • @taylorristvedt online :)

  • i wish a day without shoes came to brazil. i love tomms and this movement.

  • chirstofer drew does this everyday :D

  • I have worn my toms bracelet for almost a year now. Haven't taken it off once!! :)

  • wasted 90+ SGD ON TWO PAIR I feel like buying one..

  • Go philippines!

  • 2012 i am doing this! even if i have school, and i could get in trouble haha

  • thats amazing

  • @GoHardMG if you look at any of the pictures from the shoe drops in different countries, they actually have rubber soles on them and are A LOT more sturdy then the TOMs we buy. They are made for the terrain the children will be on wherever they are.

  • This is to all those people who buy Toms because they think its for a good cause. What is thw point if they dont last long and they wear out quick? I mean I see people with them and they tell me like after 3 months they rip. I mean if that happens to us here in the US I wonder how long will they last for the 3rd world ppl when they dont have paved roads and run on dirt and rocks. It would be better if they gave something that lasted longer.

  • @GoHardMG - My TOMS have lasted for over a year now and are still in great conidition. I just bought my second pair yesterday.

  • @GoHardMG hey go three months without shoes, and go three months with 'shit', free shoes. Which scenario do you like best?

  • @0justcause ohh i spoken to the people basically they sale us the shit shoe's that dont last long, are super dangerous when walking wet surfaces. They give the 3rd worlders a thicker heal and cloth shoe, well basically a better shoe.

  • @GoHardMG sorry i don't want to be "that guy", but that's worded so badly I literally have no idea what you were trying to say

  • @0justcause Let me then speak to you in the proper Literate English then. Not to Long ago I spoke to a representative of the Company Toms which you see in this video, because of the same conserve I have of the durability of the shoes they give out to this poor people. The representative I spoke with simply said to me that they made a different shoe, more durable, and a much heavier cloth, but the same design. So basically they give their customers a much more poor quality of shoes.

  • @GoHardMG Lol way to get but hurt about grammar critique. Anyways, you've completely flipped your point of view from saying that the shoes suck for the 3rd world countries to the shoes suck for us. Pretty flip floppy if you ask me. And sorry anyone who buys these shoes for quality or durability is retarded. They're obviously not intended for that (if they do however, that's good). The project isn't designed for "sexiness appeal' but to help those kids without shoes.

  • @0justcause that phrase (Butt hurt) is so cliche, another trendy phrase... I changed my view because I learned that they shoes they give these people are much more durable. I guess my problem is how they sale shit shoes and place it as ohh its a good cause. We all know he making millions. I Just want longer lasting shoes for everyone.

  • @GoHardMG buy some boots.

  • "To support the school fees of children will be the best solution for a Beninese child, for instance. Because sandals cost 300f CFA in the local market. Even if a child has to buy 4 new pairs a year that adds up to 1,200f CFA. If one thus puts this 27,000f CFA toward supporting a child in a year, one could pay his school fees, buy him supplies, and shoes so he wouldn’t have to go to school with a naked foot."

  • we did this at school but with socks lol! XD no joke it was cool too

  • I dont understand how someone can dislike this video??

  • 2:13 is that Foster the People?

  • I love toms shoes!!!!

  • TOMS are the best! but expensive

  • @Jasminemam12 think of it as your donating a pair to child in need.

  • So beautiful, so inspirational! This gave me chills, let's start a revolution. Let's save the world

  • TOMS for ever!

  • DeutschPerson333 is an idiot.

  • toms up!

  • “Had I known the full extent of Tom’s beliefs, I would not have” ever spent money with his company. Do your homework, people!

  • It amazes me how so many people can see such an awesome video and not be inspired or at least want to learn more. You would also think that people would have enough common decency to refrain from posting negative comments or make fun of a company like Toms Shoes. They are changing the world whether you like it or not...what will you do to change the world for the better?

  • That iPhone could have bought 6 pairs of toms! :)

  • I started my own event called "One Day without news" for one day noone pays attention the the news and we march to raise awareness for people who live under a rock. Instead of putting shoes on shoeless people we put news in the hands of people who never heard the news before. It's newpendous!

  • go put on some shoes.

  • Have a look at 'Good intentions are not enough'. The have a video called 'A Day without Dignity'. They suggest that TOMS donating all these free shoes are putting local shoe salesmen out of business. Just have a look at the other side of the story. Just trying to offer a balanced view.

  • @chewyleaf92 This claim has no support behind it though if you noticed.

  • @chewyleaf92 Yes! Thank you! That video needs more views and people need to educate themselves on true aid rather than feel good handouts.

  • @chewyleaf92 - terrible argument because TOMS has employed people in countries they do shoe drops in. So they create jobs and give shoes away. And it's not like the local business men were doing well considering so many children don't have shoes...

In the long run, what TOMS is doing is more beneficial than a few local salesmen.

As Frederick Douglass once said, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."

  • People may not like Microsoft's products but when it comes to philantropy and such they deserve credit. Apple cancelled all philantropy projects in 2000.

  • I created a 1 day with extra shoes event where people wear more than one pair of shoes. It goes to all of the rich people who are forced to have a lot of shoes

  • @deutschPerson333 the difference is that you're not walking around on volcanic soil or anywhere that would actually pose a problem to you. so you can be barefoot on paved ground and survive. so what?

  • We did wear shoes to schools this day, but the principals started suspending people. Seriously? What has the world come to where you get in trouble for trying to support a good cause.

  • @K8Renee You make an interesting point, I enjoyed the site. The question becomes if there are shoe shops in these areas then why are people going around without shoes and kids can not attend school? If these shops exist certain measures need to be taken so that more people can buy shoes. As for the educating yourself comment I just think people need a basis of facts in order to comment on these issues, that does not mean all the facts but enough to refrain from making dumb comments.

  • i went barefoot at school and never got in trouble!!!!!!! :) yay! lol

  • @Rossafarian Because Toms LIES about being barefoot. Barefooting is natural, healthy, and fun

  • @TheDucut You wont get a disease...Toms are a bunch of liars...Ive been barefoot for a year. My health has never been better. My immune system is a lot stronger, and Ive never been more alive. Dont buy TOMS, join the fight against them and their lies.

  • Do you people realize what toms is doing to these kids? Shoes cause health problems and that is scientifically proven fact. This company uses the ignorance of people to make money. It is NOT hard without shoes. It is only hard if your feet are debilitated from a life of shoe wearing. Ofcourse it will hurt you because your feet are so atrophied that they need to be rehabilitated. People who don't wear shoes don't have this because their feet are strong and healthy. I can say its EASY without sho

  • we watched this at school! i luv this song

  • h t t p : / / w w w.youtube.c o m/watch?v=8EaSlKqs6Fo&feature=player_embedded

free shoes are killing the economy

  • TOMS IS RUN BY THE ILLUMINATI!!!

  • My friends and I went barefoot at our school Fall Creek Academy!!! My teacher supported us by going barefoot, too!

  • K8Renee, if this is true, you should supply links that support your argument!

  • @cmccli2010 Hi! Check out the counter-campaign "a day without dignity" at the website "Good intentions are not enough". There are countless articles that discuss how these types of campaigns are damaging. They are written by first-hand experience (aid workers, journalists) and academics specializing in international as oppose to a business man who's heart (though uneducated in aid) may be in the right place and who's primary objective is to sell shoes.

  • Ever since i watched this video i have been going barefoot way more, and even if its not the walk, i still spread the word

  • @TheCBAstudio You should go barefoot more. I have been barefoot for a year to spread the word. The word that TOMS is just another for profit company lying to make money. Being barefoot isnt unhealthy or dangerous. They are over exaggerating to the point of fabrication. I live barefoot and I have never felt happier, healthier, or more alive. Shoes are the last thing those kids need! We should take a lesson from them and kick off our shoes. Shoes cause many many physical problems

  • Wtf they aren't changing suit

  • @nsvila2004 fuck you, africa isnt a bunch of beggers, they NEED it, too many people are self-considerate faggots.

  • I did this an i just have to say, not only did i spread the word, but i was, i guess inspired. For everyone that is saying things like "screw africa, they are just a bunch of beggers" commenting that on a video like this that tells you directly that many people in Africa are getting infection and are forced to go barefoot everyday, you just proved yourself to be a self-considerate faggot. everyone hating on africa or on barefeet, fuck you.

  • I got TOMS just about 20 minutes ago i went barefoot the week before

  • There's a huge difference between being barefoot outside and on hard, flat pavement!!

If you're outside, being shoeless is amazing! It feels soo good to feel the earth between your toes... I think a more appropriate movement would be- let's clean up our environment so WE can walk around barefoot outside safely!

There are far more serious issues concerning African kids than THIS

  • this is actually a bad idea, we need to stop letting Africans think they are beggars

  • i didnt know what day it was otherwise i wouldve done it

  • i got told about 5 times to put my shoes back on by teachers, right after they left, my shoes came off again.

  • im wearing TOMS right now :D

  • @drummerdude905

I LUVVVVV TOMS THERE THE BEST!!!

  • @pina541 people call me gay for wearing them though i dont care i think theyre awesome

  • Went all day without shoes, my school supported the movement and I even got through Chemistry without having to wear them. My feet were swollen by the end of the day and my ankles were killing me. But that's just a glimpse of what the kids in other countries have to endure every day. Thank you for this incredible experience, and as @courtCODlurk25 said, it was worth it.

  • I love the comment about supporting local shoe sellers. Are you kidding me? Nike is not a local show seller, the local shoe seller is dead and gone and i do not have an issue with not wearing their product until they make some changes. Furthermore, not wearing a pair of shoes for one day is not going to put anyone out of business; so please educate yourselves.

  • @TheIKProductions

You are right, not wearing shoes will not put local shoe sellers out of a job, sending thousands of free shoes into their markets will. And the local seller is alive, and would like very much to sell a product. Check out the counter-campaign "a day without dignity" through the website "Good intentions are not enough". There are dozens of articles discussing how this campaign is damaging. To quote you: please educate yourself.

  • Ok, I did it. Many people found it strange and had not heard of this event, seriously, they thought I was making it up. I came across quite a few people that will not walk barefoot, for any reason....good idea or not.... we should be aware that many people across the globe do without the conveniences that we as Americans so cherish... although shoes are a necessity in any culture, let;s face it, we have a shoe fetish. ...

  • This is a really terrible idea. Giving out shoes is NOT what these communities are asking for. Of all the countries I have worked in (including Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Thailand...) I have never seen anyone in need of shoes. Check out "Good intentions are not Enough" to actually learn about the issues.

  • @eliangen1981 hey, at least they're doing something.

  • @eliangen1981

SERIOUSLY YOU R STUPID NO DOUBT.. SHUT UP !

  • i go to an art skool and we painted on our feet one day and toms shoes even though im a diabetic and i get infections easly i put my health second for others..and i felt pretty good about it

  • I did this at school. And like many other people, I got in trouble, like 50 people did this with me. Our math teacher gave us detention but we had talked to the principal and he was all cool with One Day Without Shoes. It was an awesome day :D.. Can't wait till next year!!

  • Went to school without shoes and never got caught since I was good hiding my feet haha. Also during Track practice, ran barefooted for about 37 mins. Worth it and got my very 1st pair of TOMS yesterday (Grey Classics)

  • I walked into class and took off my shoes. My teacher asked me why i'm doing it for impoverished people without shoes. She said it was a stupid idea.. I throw a shoe at her. was expelled the next day..

  • wow, who would seriously donate to such a stupid cause? i mean, you buy a pair of overly expensive shoes which are probably made by starving African children themselves and they give some shoes to some 'poor' kids? No thanks, I'd rather keep my money and get rid of some of the population problem. How do we solve this problem? Kill all first borns in poor countries and ship them our bottom of the barrel kids that nobody wants anyways. Goodness gracious, this kind of thing really gets me raving

  • @nicolasbaburn Wow mr.EMO! lol ur stupid

  • @nicolasbaburn We should probably start eliminating all the fuckheads and idiots that think they're better than everyone else because they were born in a developed country. Good idea right? We should dispatch F-22's and spec ops teams to wipe out all the douchebags, starting by you.

  • PLEASE don't do this!! Donating shoes puts local shoe sellers out of a job. NO ONE in impoverished countries are asking for shoes. With the money that you spend on TOMS shoes you could pay an entire year of school tuition and books. These people do not need shoes, they need a job so that they can buy their own shoes. The campaign is degrading and elitist as well as trendy. And it does more harm than good. PLEASE educate yourself. Check out the website "good intentions are not enough".

  • aw i wish I knew about this! I would of done it :(

  • Comment removed

  • i also got a suspension but i told my vice principal that she would either have to ex-spell me or arrest me to get me to leave without being able to spread the word.

  • @ryholowesko Stay in school. You need to learn to spell.

  • @twinstar9 are you kidding me ? i didnt misspell a word. and you would be an asshole and comment some dick thing on such a beneficent cause.

  • i got in school suspension for not wearing shoes, me and 8 other people got kicked out of school for the rest of the day, so we walked around carson city with signs, that said 'honk if you support toms' 'one day without shoes' and 'one for one' and we all signed them. suspension was worth it.

  • I really support this but Matisyahu is so fucking stupid. Stupid religious bastard.

  • @ktmrider53 Who are you, Hitler?

  • @gAbRiElLeAmEVeNiTrOn No, but when you get into really religious stuff like that, its like a slap in the face for everyone who's not jewish. Fuck that. If you ever listen to his interviews you will know what i mean. Fuck that asshole.

  • feet are sooo gross! put them away! no normal person wants to see them!

  • @enigma19833 It really bothers me how you can just say that! Did you just not even see the video!? People in Africa don't have a choice! They get diseases, infection, just like they said. But all you have to say is that feet are gross and no normal person wants to see them? Then I must be "not normal". Way to be a douche.

  • my school made us put our shoes on. Some of my friends got sent to the office, they said being barefoot was a "health code violation" :(

  • @AlbinoGiraffe123 that's what happened to us at our school, but me and another friend of mine took them off when we got to our highschool/college portion of the day, and our teacher allowed us to take our shoes off. we went the rest of the day barefoot.

  • I spent the entire day without shoes at school, and even went through a whole soccer practice barefoot :)

  • @bubbleegrl people need cleats too! soccer is huge around the world as you probably know. donate! yea!

  • my school did this and i participated!

  • YES i did representin RED OAK HIGH SCHOOL TX :D

  • Me school GRIDLEY MI

    DLE SCHOOL DID THIS

  • THIS ISN'T SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM GET SHOES. IT'S SIMPLY TO CAUSE AWARENESS.

  • dang!!!!!! i saw this video on the 6th. pooooy. i would have totally done this. why all should have, for those who didn't

  • @kindsirisme me tooo!

  • I did it yesterday! :)

  • Life in London with out shoes is HOT. - Hmmmmmm!

  • SO ANNOYED I MISSED IT I THOUGHT IT WAS APRIL8TH LIKE LAST YEAR :'( FFS!

  • We did it yesterday here in Puerto Rico......

  • I long boarded around my town for 14 hours today, went from store to store. Taped home made signs on the doors that simply said "Ditch the shoes, see you handle it for a day." By the end of the day, my feet bled, and were cut.

It was a good experience for sure, but one guy got on my nerves. I went past him on the bike path, and he said "oh your doing the no shoes thing? I heard about it" I simply replied with, "So why are you wearing shoes?" He removed them.

  • I’m an Asian American so I do this like…everyday. LOL. I once ran a mile barefoot for a cause similar to this a few years ago…I have like PERMANENT blisters…but still, it’s worth it.

  • @DominationVideos It seem's like your just trying to sound better than me? Why?

  • You cant do this when u live in phoenix arizona where its 98°already:(

  • @jonathan2k52000 people do it even if there is snow laying on the groud.

  • when is that one day without shoes ? i want to be part of it

  • @xeviltea1 it was today:(

  • @xeviltea1 5 April. you missed it. :(

  • A guy with a foot fetish's dream.

  • I DID THIS :D

  • I think what this company is doing is amazing. Not only are they raising awareness, but they are also apart of the help by donating a pair of shoes for everyone you buy! If by not wearing shoes for a day I could be apart of the help and raise awareness in my community, then of course I did it. :D

ps. For everyone who mentioned how not wearing shoes for a day is dangerous and disease ridden, well I do believe that is the point.

  • Comment removed

  • Totally almost got set home from today for doing this I understand it's a safety issue but can there be just a little bit more respect for those people

  • I participated today. It was great. I got to inform a good deal of people. It was also really eye opening, the number of things we take for granted is unbelievable

  • We did this at y school today. It really makes you realize how vital shoes are. We should be thankful for what we have and not all just worry about our computers or xbox!

  • My parents were born in Eastern Africa. They were fortunate enough to have shoes, but their friends weren't. Every year we send money over to family their, and they buy shoes and distribute it to everyone. So far we've helped give everyone in three villages shoes, clothes, school supplies, and of course soccer balls =) Sure beats their old ones which were plastic bags rolled into a ball.

  • I walked around Baylor University without shoes today; our campus was very supportive & it was an eye-opening experience. one of my professors was even "impressed by the organization of students that took part in a such a humbling cause." it's so awesome to see the world come together to simply raise awareness - some people don't have an extra $70 bucks laying around to buy a pair of Toms; being able just go barefoot & still educate others is amazing. so, in the Baylor spirit, Sic'em Toms.

  • On facebook my friends did a one day whithout shoes thing and a bunch of them got detention for not wearing shoes at school o3o

  • The reason why 75% of people in the USA have foot problems, is because they don't go barefoot, or in thin shoes enough. The thing that these people suffer from is filariasis, and things like excessive heat and cold. Which can be helped with shoes. But to culturally force people to wear shoes is wrong. I get guff from going into stores barefoot, or anyplace where "its not acceptable".

  • The reason we have poverty is because we do not share the money we have been blessed with. The reason your feet hurt, why asphalt hurts, is because you do not do it 24/7, which I do. I have no problems with asphalt, I run on asphalt barefoot.. I like the idea of this though. Going barefoot is not bad, its not having the choice to have shoes when it is necessary to wear them, same as not having a coat when its cold outside. Such as when you have a cut in your foot, or when its cold.

  • Why are there dislikes on this!?!?!

  • i Went To School And Talked to The Principal. He Said He Would Get in Trouble If We Didnt Wear Shoes. i Didnt Care. i Didnt Wear Them. It Was Hardin Saskatoon.. There Is Still Snow. it Was Worth It. And to All The People Hating And Saying It isnt Worth it And Dosnt do anything, Guys Its To Raise Awarness about it!

  • Since poor people can't afford clean water, I think I'm going to drink out of my toilet today. There's a great logic behind this.

  • i did it and got likw 30 more freinds to join even my treachers joined in and some sanitized their floor lol but my feet HURT i feel bad for them

  • FACT: Not wearing shoes for a day does nothing. Making a donation might delay the core problems behind why people are actually poor. These countries will continue to be poor until changes are made to the way they operate.

  • at school today like six of my friends and i got in mass trouble and made fun of by the teachers and the students for going barefoot.

    it was worth it.

  • @courtCODlurk25 that sucks my teachers let me and my class

  • im not trying to be ignorant or anything but other countries like America, Germany, Japan, Korea put their own sweat, blood, hardship, etc to build their country up and what the countries in Africa and third world countries cant??? yeah i feel bad and everything but if America could build up a powerful country in less than 300 years Africa can do it do. Why dont they actually try to make their country a good place. All the other countries can help so we dont need to do stuff like this

  • @garra98 The geographical location of Africa prevents its people from getting access to clean water. In addition AIDS is affecting most of the people living there, and as we know so far, there is NO CURE, and there's no way of stopping it. Not to mention, the people there steal, kill, and are corrupt. The economy sucks. Child labour is used. No one goes to school. It's more than what you think. It's simply too late..it's an endless cycle that repeats itself.
