@teoswand it has a gpu built into the cpu. So you're sharing power, it can play videos. But if you want to do 720 or 1080p videos, forget about it. ASUS has their new netbooks with the nvidia ion dedicated video that should work much better when hooking it into a larger screen and/or playing HD video.

@seth556 Check out the Broadcom Crystal HD card. It goes in the empty pcie slot and allows smooth playback of 720/1080 on an atom powered netbook. The videos I've seen show 20-40% cpu use while playing HD content with the card installed. It's also supposed to be supported in flash which should make streaming sites like hulu play much smoother. I ordered a 532h last night and am getting ready to order the broadcom card now.

@GPaulDiddy Yes, but the screen is quite small. Unless you're concerned with size then I'd recommend paying a few extra dollars and getting a laptop with a bigger screen.

@GPaulDiddy Performance is mediocre, it's reliable although in Ubuntu it will occasionally think the battery is dead and hibernate as well as randomly disconnect from wifi networks. The webcam is fine, pretty normal for a laptop, neither incredible or terrible.

There is no issue with the wireless card in Windows 7 Home or Ultimate. You just need to install the correct driver, and install the Acer e-power software (which was pre-installed on the original Win 7 Starter when you got it).

@andrew2020dhy the fan on mine starts up if I'm watching youtube or hulu, otherwise it's usually very quiet.

You can still change the wallpaper on this netbook. Even if it's using Windows7 Starter. Just search google for 'Starter Wallpaper Changer'. It's a small EXE file which will let you change it.

Nice review! I'm really thinking about getting a new laptop because my Acer Aspire 5100-3583 can no longer play games well due to the graphics card basically crapping out. I'm really wondering about buying this exact netbook or a Toshiba for 349.00. Would you recommend this for light gaming like The Sims 2 or Counter Strike Source? That's all I would plan on playing on it.

@XanderDylanTech I have no idea about the games, although the specs are low and the graphics card is more for the web and watching videos: not really game material. Although if you're choosing between this and other netbooks for games in the same price range then it should do just as well.

Just baught a silver one, 2gb/250gb, came already with Ubunto installed.

My opinion is pretty much the same of seth556. I have my ubber desktop so I dont need a ubber laptop, spent $300 on a netbook and im pretty happy with it. The only thing that makes me want to install W7 is the M$ Office package, really like Word and Excel ;/

@visusdrs I purchased mine for $268.95 at Wal-Mart where I live, it did advertise as 1gb/160gb/three cell but I knew from experience that there could be a chance that it was mis-advertised and I was right it happend to be a 2gb/250gb/six cell!  I have found that Wal-Mart & many other retailers often mis-advertise Acer products but heck it could be Acer making the mistake, who knows, who cares if me or anyone else that happens to get more than what they paid for.

@scienceartculture they have microsoft works installed and a trial of office, you can use it 30 times before it stops until you buy it.
