  • ewwwww gross

  • That sucked.

  • You might want to change Trombone 3's part. No trombonist can play multiple notes at a time.

  • Could you look up over the rainbow please

  • at least at first an last chord you should give the bass the tonic to play... sixth chords don't sound too good in the end!

  • @mortalfrog0815 oh really?

  • can you write out get it on ( chase) for trumpet for me plz??

  • This was uploaded on my brothers birthday haha

  • Theres a proplem with the sound but its a great song

  • Too heavy. It's supposed to be high, light, and airy. Not bad, though.

  • good but too loud. You can't really hear the main theme

  • Lower the volume of trombones 2 and 3. I can barely hear the melody.

  • @Patbad73 yes i realize its out of balance, the program I use does not follow written dynamics, Its a issue Ive been working on

  • @WoWBandits U might want to consider installing sibalius (sp?). it plays dynamics and u can even write in tempo markings which the recording will follow as well

  • hardly a trio when the bottom part splits.

  • I'm a fan but I don't think this was your strongest work.

  • you should stop writing.

  • this song has a 68 feel not a 34, but other than that nice work, cords were right on, oh and dont listen to the post theeuphoniumguy wrote, when you arrange something it does not have to be in the write key... lol thats why its called an arrangement and not the original

  • @schilke237 the song was originally written in 3/4, bu the rgea john williams himself. you question his greatness? ._.

  • Yeah, it just sounds kind of drony and droned on.

  • shit

  • Try it again.

The original is in the key of C# minor, and putting it in G minor sounds WAY off.

  • hey i was listening to alot of your work. iIt's al good stuff but i feel like this one is really in 6/8 not 3/4

  • thats cuz it is lol

  • cool i love this do you know site so i print this out?

  • Cool

  • Omg! Ok, these theme is supposed to be light, not dark! You have to increase the range somehow. Change the key to F instead. Transpose it all up, and then increase the tempo. That'll make it sound less like a death march

  • It would probably never be played this loud. Balancing it would make it much less dark

  • lol just raise the tone with each note

  • how do you raise a tone with a note? The tone really has little to do with it. It's more of a pitch problem. There's a video somewhere of John Williams talking about this song and that it's supposed to be Hedwig's flight, not death. This is why he uses a celeste for the main theme.

  • oops thats what i meant i guess i get confused with pitch tone and frequency

  • no worries. Happens to everyone

  • o alright thanks but it actually does sound like an death march

  • i got scared for a minute because when i looked at the video it stopped but the song kept on playing but it appeared to be another tab

  • Agreed

  • ok im pretty impressed now that ive seen em all. heres a challenge for you though. I challenge you to do this for If today was your last day by nickelback. its on their new album dark horse.

  • It's a good arrangement, but being a Trombone player, I would say try not to restrict the players to the, shall I say, safest range, trombones can play quite a bit higher than what you have them at. The way it is now, it sounds to bloated.

  • hey nice, try to improve the harmony since the begginig till 5th bar i think. now yet it would work better in a 9/8 .

  • try cam studio it doesn't have the a box in the corner, it free and the new version has good quality recording.

  • haha coool but.....look the 3d trombone...if u can play that please record for me ;) nice work.

  • i'm gonna try to multitrack this and see how it works out

  • If you can assign the different voices to separate MIDI channels this will sound a lot better. A lot of the issues noted here clear up quite a bit when each trombone is on a separate channel, as the lines are fighting each other for control of a single channel the way the Finale file is set up. This is one of the most common problems I see in Finale renders. Playing through KONTACT VST will make it even more awesome.

  • On the very first tie, I think you accidentally put a slur, because it tongued the second note.

  • actually its written so that 1st trombone holds the note and the other 2 trombones rearticulate the note to finish the phrase, good catch though

  • Oh wow, I've never heard that in the actual song, I've been playing it wrong! :/

  • its very quietly done, subtle but if you pull it off right it sounds like a little push on the first trombones note into the next phrase

  • It sounds... so.... evil.... I love it :P. Nice job. Computer generated trombone quartets really do sound like organs :o Random side comment :P

  • omg i learned this in a half hour yay me

  • i dont know why, but that sorta reminds me of fire emblem, like when the enemies are talking

  • thanks!

  • do you know where you can get that on paper?

  • descrition has links

  • @scarletnite7 You can get this song on paper if you buy the "Selected Themes From The Motion Picture "Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone" book for Trombone. It's the SAME exact thing. This is not original.

  • well u shudda made it mp its too loud. the parts sounds like they are clashing. its gotta be played soft

  • yeah, it is out of balance but the program i used to make this one (an old one, used like Finale 2003) wouldnt do the dynamics very well and the tone quality is crap as well.

  • poor trombone 3 has to do multiphonics?

  • lol no, i put trombone 3 with octaves in case the player is not yet skilled enough to hit low F's since the bass line sounds better so i went ahead and added an octave higher as an option.

  • nah by ear on this particular peice i mean that i wrote the song from listening to a recording and getting it as close as possible, now some of my other peices that i wrote by ear i did arrange and changed a few things up form the recording i listened to, and some of them i didnt listen to a recording at all and just wrote it

  • thats why if you look in the beginning i used the actual composers name instead of writing myself as the arranger because i didnt arrange it.

  • well actually i wrote this by listening to a recording of a audio preveiw to a book called "Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone" for trombone

  • MEH...

  • awesome
