I just love this. I bought the album in 1973 or so. Hadn't heard anything of Mountain before then. It's now fully engrained in my 54-year-old brain. LOL.
Check out my audience recorded version of Mountain doing MQ 4 Nov 2008 in Houston, TX. Terrible sound quality, but the action is sweet...watch real close. Unbelievably good.
Mountain was a classic band in its day but too many kids have grown up not knowing about them and therefore as they have fallen to the wayside....I am sure record sales would have been in the early days and due to the band members being in the 50's to 60's years, they kind of like wanted to retire into the sunser not forgotton. I am
still living in the 70's and 60's but i would say most people have moved onto recent times.
I wasn't at Woodstock but I've seen clips of Mountain playing at the festival. I WAS at the Fillmore for the stand during which "Dream Sequence" was recorded, but this wasn't the version they played during the show I attended. They were good the night I was there, though . . .
p.s. The photograph at 3:30 wasn't taken at Woodstock 1969---that's a daytime shot, Mountain played their Woodstock set in the evening, and Leslie West was wearing a black shirt under a brown fringe vest at Woodstock . . .
This was the best part of "Flowers of Evil." (The studio side sounded rather like "Nantucket Sleighride Lite" and the live cut of "Mississippi Queen" sounded kind of like they were out of gas for the night . . . )
@EasyAce I agree about this great album live side EasyAce. One of the best live jams ever recorded...and MQ hate to admit I usually kill. The studio side after about about hundred listens will grow on ya', actually is jamming big time!
I think Billy Sheehan borrowed that awesome bass sound from Felix.

@janhal5557 I couldn't agree more. I have moved on, but still have great memories of the 60's & 70's. Thanks for watching & commenting.
