Now this....this was Mya's dance. She knocked the Salsa out of the park. I remember watching this dance and I was worried about her solo. Lil' Kim's Salsa solo kept popping into my head, so I was a little worried when I saw Mya's solo. But damn...I'm so glad she got a 30 on this.
It's not a question of whom the BEST dancer is, it's whose voting base is STRONGER. Mya had all of the elements except the last and SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT one: the strongest voting base at the end game.

I agree! However, dancing ability isn't enough on these types of shows -- even on Dancing with the Stars. What's more, Mya & Dmitry's freestyle just wasn't up to snuff -- and Donny & Kym's was. If Dmitry had choreographed a better freestyle, Mya might have won.
Belle, I think you have a point. I just looked at Mya's freestyle; and they could have done much better. Donny's was much "showier." That's how Gilles lost last season. Too bad so much rides on one dance.
Yeah -- Gilles lost partly because his own freestyle wasn't as good as that of Shawn Johnson -- mind you, I wasn't too upset since I wanted Shawn to win. Still, Gilles would've had a better chance if he'd done a better freestyle.

Mya and Dmitry's salsa was so amazing. She was just loose, down into the floor, and into the music and Dmitry! That solo was very good. She was tremendous.

donny was definitely hyped. plus everybody has amnesia about how previous to the show donny took balroom classes for one year. this season was almost like make donny the winner by any means necessary.(and push joanna as well) by hypeing him and advertising him on tv, not to mention the fact that mya was underscored many times and talked about by others. i command donny for his hard work and he seems like a nice guy but the additional manipulations definitely spoiled his "victory"
Donny would be foolish if he doesn't realize he won because of his fame. I agree that the judges score should be taking more into consideration than the viewers so that we have more quality winners instead of popular ones. At least last season Shawn was more even with Gilles, but Donny can't even stand next to Mya, I mean c'mon....I'm so over this show, i swear, this is just pathetic
If we were voting just on pure dancing she would have won hands down. But that is not how the show is rigged. It rigged so that the favorite wins. The judges votes should carry more sway then the audience. Mya was on top of the board more half of the season and then she gets second that is just pure BS. She is not was the best star dancer. Donny just had a bigger fan base. I mean listen to the crowd. I mean the standing ovations alone should say something.
These shows are all BS, it's a popularity contest. I live in Las Vegas and I know for fact that at the casino where Donny performs all the guest where asked to vote for him. On top of it Donny has been performing for over 50 years so all that old generation supports him. How can Mya compete with that. I know but Sabanitas anything is possible look how Taylor Swift beat Michael Jackson at the awards show "MICHAEL" so Mya could have beat Donny!! Guess just wasn't meant to be they are the winners in my heart though!
I'm so pissed off. You could see that they were hyping Donny for the win. With the 30 votes for something that wasn't any better than Dmya. Plus they gave him the 1st place tonight for the Argentine Tango while he didn't move a lot. Dmya where again the couple displaying the best and energy dance. At the end, they had Donny in a tuxido and Mya not in an evening attire. I just knew they were going to give the win to Donny. I'm done with this show. DMYA were constantly the best.. I'm pissed.
I can't believe that Mya didn't win. Mya is a pure gold. Such a pleasure to watch her. I really thought that this contest is about quality in the dancing (with entertainment of-course). If this show was in any other country, Mya would have won it without blinking it.
Another shameful thing is that slavic professionals cannot win the competition. Joanna got out too early. Maks, Edita and Karina in the past didn't won with great partners. Shame!

I have a feeling Mya and Dmitry are going to get screwed out of the trophy. I have been reading the threads on different websites and people are saying that Mya is full of herself and a show off. I totally don't think so. There are also saying she has dance experience so it's not fair for her to win. Catty and jealous people are not going to vote for them. If anyone is going to win, it's going to be Kelly. People keep saying that she's worked harder than Mya. It's such a load of crap. Mya was sleeping in a tent in the studio while Kelly brought her dogs to rehearsal and talked on her phone! MYA has worked harder than Kelly! If Mya doesn't win I'm going to be super pissed and if one of the other two win I'm done with this show. People are so dumb and act like this is the Olympics. It isn't fair.
I just saw a video of post performance after the week 9 elimination when Joanna was booted off the show. She said that now she is asking her fans to vote for Kelly as they have made a pack to support each other. I find this so innapropriate! When Mark was asked who he would support, he answered that it wouldn't be fair... I agree. It is not fair to express who she would vote for. This is a dance contest, not a popularity contest. Lest keep it that way.
Are we still on this 'she has experience' kick? It's not the same thing. Just think in terms of sports. Some athletes are very good at a chosen sport but you stick them is a different sport and they suck monkey balls, this is along the same lines. She's this good at ballroom because she is dedicated to it. Really, how many others slept in the practice room?
Side note: Whoever is singing did a better job than Madonna. I have the song and honestly, I would much rather have this version.

I love how she falls into him and puts her arm around him when they are waiting for their scores, amazing connection and chemistry and the looks he gives her - oh my!
But if Mya doesn't let down her guard for just a bit and show some damn emotional connection to Dmitry during their dances in the finale she may not win=|. It would make their dances EVEN BETTER! (notice she doesn't even look at him through much of the dance)

I'm with you. I swear this is the best salsa ever on DWTS. I watched some salsas from other seasons and even this season. They don't compare. They are slower and not as exiting to watch.
Kelly and Joanna stop complaining about Mya! She had to be given a b-12 shot last week because she was over doing it. She and Dmitry literaly lived at the studio to perfect their dances. If the girl knew what she was doing and was that good, she wouldn't be doing all that and pushing herself like this. Kelly seems to spend more time complaining and whining and crying than practicing her routines. Maybe, if she would follow MYA's work ethic, she wouldn't be forgetting her solos on the show.
It really makes me mad how people call Mya a snob and a brat when they don't even know her!! When they interviewed her after she found out she was going to be in the finals it was sooo sweet! She was on the verge of tears, she doesn't seem snobby to me she seems sweet.

Honestly, I could care less what haters are saying about Mya's dance experience. IMO: the show is called "Dancing With The Stars", not "Dancing With the Beginner/ Intermediate Stars". So it's not always about the dancing. If they say it's about growth and not dancing ability: well, Mya has grown a LOT. She went on the show quite a few pounds heavier than she is now. Proof that she's working hard. AND, she's connecting with the audience more. I'm voting for her.
so, this year I've been splitting my votes between Donny and Mya, but for the final, I'm def giving Mya all my votes. And, in regards to the dance experience, I think that tap dancing is worlds away from ballroom. There is no hip action involved in tap. Tap dancing is not what produced this great dance. And while sometimes I do actually agree that she has issues connecting with the audience *ducks from objects being thrown at me* she's come miles and miles in that respect.

Dmitry showcase Mya's capabilities. He is not only an excellent teacher. He cares and very encouraging. He could be the next John Travolta. He has the looks, the moves, the heart and other talents. I know, right? I was so pissed that season Mel B "lost" to Helio that I haven't watched DWTS again until this season. P.S.-Mel B didn't lose to Helio, she lost to Julianne. That's who people really voted for.
You are so right. I didn't watch before Lil Kim and I watched Mel B on here. And watching Mel B on here I was like 'oh, she had to win.' Then I looked it up and was like, wtf? But imo, of the men who have won, only a portion have actually been good. I think the female pros are the ones who win in those cases. Seems like the female non-pros have to be on the same level as the female pros to even think about making it to the the semis, but the men don't have to be near as good as male pros.
LOL You and me both. But I have this feeling (which I hope doesn't come true) that it will come down to Mya and Donnie and he will end up winning. I say this not only because Donnie has a huge fanbase but also because there is this hostility towards Mya that I've never seen toward any other front runner. People keep talking about her "dance experience" as if others (including from this season) haven't had "experience." I just have a bad feeling about this, but I would love to be proven wrong.
Perhaps it's because she's so GOOD that there's more hostility towards Mya than towards anyother frontrunner. Or maybe they just don't relate to her for some reason.

If we were voting just on pure dancing she would have won hands down. But that is not how the show is rigged. It rigged so that the favorite wins. The judges votes should carry more sway then the audience. Mya was on top of the board more half of the season and then she gets second that is just pure BS. She is not was the best star dancer. Donny just had a bigger fan base. I mean listen to the crowd. I mean the standing ovations alone should say something.

These shows are all BS, it's a popularity contest. I live in Las Vegas and I know for fact that at the casino where Donny performs all the guest where asked to vote for him. On top of it Donny has been performing for over 50 years so all that old generation supports him. How can Mya compete with that. Mya you and everybody knows that you are the real winner of this season, I wish you the best, you are a real role model for all young girls, thank you for your dedication and hard work

I'm so pissed off. You could see that they were hyping Donny for the win. With the 30 votes for something that wasn't any better than Dmya. Plus they gave him the 1st place tonight for the Argentine Tango while he didn't move a lot. Dmya where again the couple displaying the best and energy dance. At the end, they had Donny in a tuxido and Mya not in an evening attire. I just knew they were going to give the win to Donny. I'm done with this show. DMYA were constantly the best.. I'm pissed.

I can't believe that Mya didn't win. Mya is a pure gold. Such a pleasure to watch her. I really thought that this contest is about quality in the dancing (with entertainment of-course). If this show was in any other country, Mya would have won it without blinking it.
Another shameful thing is that slavic professionals cannot win the competition. Joanna got out too early. Maks, Edita and Karina in the past didn't won with great partners. Shame!

I have a feeling Mya and Dmitry are going to get screwed out of the trophy. I have been reading the threads on different websites and people are saying that Mya is full of herself and a show off. I totally don't think so. There are also saying she has dance experience so it's not fair for her to win. Catty and jealous people are not going to vote for them. This is the last season of dancing with the stars that I'm watching. Donny is going to win! I have a feeling!

If anyone is going to win, it's going to be Kelly. People keep saying that she's worked harder than Mya. It's such a load of crap. Mya was sleeping in a tent in the studio while Kelly brought her dogs to rehearsal and talked on her phone! MYA has worked harder than Kelly! If Mya doesn't win I'm going to be super pissed and if one of the other two win I'm done with this show. People are so dumb and act like this is the Olympics. It isn't fair.

I just saw a video of post performance after the week 9 elimination when Joanna was booted off the show. She said that now she is asking her fans to vote for Kelly as they have made a pack to support each other. I find this so innapropriate! When Mark was asked who he would support, he answered that it wouldn't be fair... I agree. It is not fair to express who she would vote for. This is a dance contest, not a popularity contest. Lest keep it that way.

Are we still on this 'she has experience' kick? It's not the same thing. Just think in terms of sports. Some athletes are very good at a chosen sport but you stick them is a different sport and they suck monkey balls, this is along the same lines. She's this good at ballroom because she is dedicated to it. Really, how many others slept in the practice room?
Side note: Whoever is singing did a better job than Madonna. I have the song and honestly, I would much rather have this version.

Kelly and Joanna stop complaining about Mya! She had to be given a b-12 shot last week because she was over doing it. She and Dmitry literaly lived at the studio to perfect their dances. If the girl knew what she was doing and was that good, she wouldn't be doing all that and pushing herself like this. Kelly seems to spend more time complaining and whining and crying than practicing her routines. Maybe, if she would follow MYA's work ethic, she wouldn't be forgetting her solos on the show.

It really makes me mad how people call Mya a snob and a brat when they don't even know her!! When they interviewed her after she found out she was going to be in the finals it was sooo sweet! She was on the verge of tears, she doesn't seem snobby to me she seems sweet.
And saying she has too much experience. Dancing for your video and tap dancing is NOT the same as ballroom dancing! And that Kelly has worked harder is crap!! Mya was sleeping in a tent in the studio and everything!! Go Mya!

Honestly, I could care less what haters are saying about Mya's dance experience. IMO: the show is called "Dancing With The Stars", not "Dancing With the Beginner/ Intermediate Stars". So it's not always about the dancing. If they say it's about growth and not dancing ability: well, Mya has grown a LOT. She went on the show quite a few pounds heavier than she is now. Proof that she's working hard. AND, she's connecting with the audience more. I'm voting for her.

so, this year I've been splitting my votes between Donny and Mya, but for the final, I'm def giving Mya all my votes. And, in regards to the dance experience, I think that tap dancing is worlds away from ballroom. There is no hip action involved in tap. Tap dancing is not what produced this great dance. And while sometimes I do actually agree that she has issues connecting with the audience *ducks from objects being thrown at me* she's come miles and miles in that respect.

ITA! Because I've noticed that people seem to be voting on who their favorite celebrity is and not on who is the best dancer!! If Mya doesn't win this season then I'm done with this show because people don't vote right! Mya has been the best since the beginning and she will continue to be the best! I'm going to vote for her as much as I possibly can because she's the only one that deserves that trophy! Kelly is good and she's gotten better but her fans are really rude so I don't want her to win.

I'm sorry ya'll I know we are suppose to be looking at Mya but I just can't take my eyes off Dmitry. That man is not only a brilliant choreographer but one heck of a dancer. I had to find this clip because when the show aired I was mostly paying attention to Mya (who is so good it's ridiculous). But after watching it again, I got to see those great moves by Dmitry and now I can't stop watching!

Dmitry showcase Mya's capabilities. He is not only an excellent teacher. He cares and very encouraging. He could be the next John Travolta. He has the looks, the moves, the heart and other talents. You are so right. I didn't watch before Lil Kim and I watched Mel B on here. And watching Mel B on here I was like 'oh, she had to win.' Then I looked it up and was like, wtf? But imo, of the men who have won, only a portion have actually been good. I think the female pros are the ones who win in those cases. Seems like the female non-pros have to be on the same level as the female pros to even think about making it to the the semis, but the men don't have to be near as good as male pros.

LOL You and me both. But I have this feeling (which I hope doesn't come true) that it will come down to Mya and Donnie and he will end up winning. I say this not only because Donnie has a huge fanbase but also because there is this hostility towards Mya that I've never seen toward any other front runner. People keep talking about her "dance experience" as if others (including from this season) haven't had "experience." I just have a bad feeling about this, but I would love to be proven wrong.

I think they simply can't find anything to criticize her on, like they could with others who have so-called experience. She gives a damn near perfect performance every time.
