  • Too bad Rick Balis, J.C. Corcoran and Emmaus didn't receive more credit for their part in destroying KSHE! Anyone who listened to KSHE from the beginning understands what I mean. Talk and formula radio became their mantra. I guess nothing good ever lasts.

  • Luv U Rich Dalton!! The sweetest man on the face of the earth!

  • All Hail KSHE 95! We love you thank you for all the good times.

  • Kishoua-ninyfiv SankLouie Mo.

  • thanks KSHE for being the only rock station in st. louis !!!!!!! lets do another 40 years !!! Now thats THE POINT !!!!!!!!!

  • KSHE listeners, come & chat with us online during the classics show Sunday am 8 - noon as we listen to KSHE stream online. See my profile for link. "Hi Ho it's only rock & roll but I like it"

  • And I wouldn't exactly describe Nickelback or 3 Doors Down as "new, wild, crazy, out there rock music".....

  • Ironically, that last photograph: billboard -- Less Music by Dead Guys -- was from the early 90s when they strayed from their roots. With the emergence of a new format, Classic Rock, KSHE was faced with strong competition & the station began moving to the "alternative music" of 90s (Soundgarden, Ginblossoms, Smashing Pumpkins, etc) & playing little of what was now being called "Classic Rock" or "Dead Guy Music." Fortunately, there was such an outcry KSHE returned to its real roots

  • " Fortunately, there was such an outcry KSHE returned to its real roots"????!!!!!

Too bad they've strayed from it again ...Nickelback or 3doors down etc... is what you might hear now days...

  • plz call yourself by your real name , i grew up with johnny rabbit and YOU are not the one .

  • The KSHE Kite Fly, Laserium at Forest Park and great concerts at the Fox, the Keil and the Arena!

    Long live KSHE 95!

    James Eddings

  • I have a bunch of KSHE recordings/airchecks dating back to 1968, including my Jocktober stint at KSHE earlier this month. If any of you have any vintage KSHE recordings, I would love to make a trade. All of my KSHE recordings are on CD.

  • Does this station run off the tower in brentwood? Someone tell me if you could please. Go Katie Cruise! Thanks for giving me a shirt after I rode the bull at that bar downtown.

  • I think you mean Crestwood

  • There is a giant tower in Brentwood on Hanley and Manchester and I thought it might have been that one.

  • Rich Dalton is JUST THE BEST! I always turned it up when he talked! I called in more than once and had meaningful conversations with him and he even said a LONG, special thing when I told him I was recording a cassette tape for my brother in the Navy many moons ago. He knows everyone and everything about R & R. I feel privilaged to have been "raised" on KSHE!

  • I agree. Rich Dalton is the STANDARD for all FM jocks. He also took time to have a long, very inspiring talk on the phone with me, when I was about to finish Broadcast Center in '93. All the K-SHE jocks used to do remote broadcasts from "The County Morgue" haunted house when I worked there in high school. Great history. Great station.

  • Do you remember "Rockin Rogers"...the Mr. Rogers parody, talking to the hippy? That was SO FUNNY! I've got that recorded on a cassette tape but I don't have the equipment to transfer it to CD to download. We should email KSHE and ask them to add that to YouTube or to their online museum! I'd love to have it on my MySpace.

  • If anyone has a vintage KSHE 95 t-shirt they would part with, I'm in Oregon now and really miss the station

  • I remember when KSHE first come on air. It was so cool! The jocks did only talk to and not at us and they would talk real slow like they were high too. lol What wasnt mentioned was, FM was "Stereo" AM was mono. Everyone was getting new AM-FM stereo radios for their cars with 8-tracks. It was even better than going from analog to digital if you know what I mean.

  • I remember smuggling my transistor radio under the covers so I could hear "Nights In White Satin" by the Moody Blues at midnight every night. Almost never got caught by the parents.

  • when i can i want to get a job at kshe. I was listening when they launched the museum.

  • Anyone catch Joe Mama Mason with U-Man and Radio Rich? Mason hasn't spoke with J.C. since he got fired from KSD-FM the first time in 1991.

  • In the Navy I traveled many places in the world, wore a jean jacket with a kshe patch on it. Someone would recognize it & say hi. I got to intern with the engineer at KSHE for a few years and it was an awesome experience and a pleasure to have had a small part working with the worlds oldest rock station. It is really cool to get to meet many of the musicians & comedians that come to town. back in the early 70s I used to hang out @ KSLQ. Too bad I never hung out @ KSHE then, might have been a DJ.
