    popular one is oatmeal since its energy is released slowly because oats are low GI. however, eggs are reported to be the best start of the day. studies show that people who eat eggs in the morning feel less hungry though out the day.. also its protein which is harder to digest, and takes more calories to process which means metabolism increases just by the thermic effect of the food. have some wholewheat or rye toast, or baked beans for good carb source ;)

We do the popcorn thing at home too, but from scratch - we buy the popping corn from the bulk health store and have a popcorn machine. So much healthier, 100% fat free and additive free, and cheaper :-)

  • Okay y'all might not believe me, but I actually eat around 4000 to 6500 calories a day in a calculated scheme. But I never tend to get fat because I increased my workout intensity and developed a fat burning high metabolic state that allows me to burn a lot more calories than an average person. Well maybe because I'm an athlete, but I eat a lot because I need energy all the time to burn. Now for those who are seriously looking for burning large amounts of fat, buy nutritious food! Very Simple!

  • Oh and one more thing, spend less time sitting on your butt or on youtube (I honestly don't spend a lot of time on the computer or youtube at all, just got back from boxing training, which very intense training), so I'm chillin you know. Always cook food and don't buy anything processed whatsoever because all they do is build up over time within your system and is a major factor to obesity. That means don't eat hot dogs. Cook with extra virgin olive oil. Trust me... you'll be immensely blessed.

  • The things like the popcorn and the fudge sickle are to help you out when you have a craving. Eating the 40cal fudge sickle is much, much better then eating an entire candy bar to satisfy your chocolate craving.

    "Dieting" is a lifestyle change, it's not something you do for a few weeks or month's. Little treats like this make it easier do stay eating healthy long term as the help you deal with cravings without going off the deep end to satisfy your cravings.

  • Haha-- hi pongman-- yes 99% fat free popcorn is not the BEST thing to have-- but better than french fries and it's fast for cravings-- If you are feeling good and have more time slice up a sweet potatoe and bake them in the oven with a little olive oil!  That will do the trick if you have more time. ;)

  • She said "IF" you are craving salt, a bag of pop corn is better then eating french fries. It is still 240 calories so it's not supposed to be a part of your daily diet. Just if you have a real bad craving for something salty, pop corn doesn't have all the fat of say french fries.

    Also those little fug sickles are great, they taste really good and have very little cal's.

  • Nice recommendations. But if someone is going to eat chocolate, it might as well be Dark Chocolate. It's healthy for you. It's good for your skin, mood and blood pressure. Just make sure it's 70% or more Cocoa and that there is no Milk Fat listed in the ingredients. Eat no more than an ounce a day. I eat mine with almonds. Makes for a great snack.

  • You are absolutely right! I'm 28 years old and recently had to get a hip replacement. (I started running marathons when I was 14 years old, and I have been training since I was 21). High impact activities (like running, jumping jacks, etc.) can wear down your bones. Strength training will increase your metabolism and strengthen your bones; combined with low impact cardio, strength training is the best thing you can do for yourself.
