Am sorry to say, but this song is no longer what it was in the past. I know Frampton can still play well, but this song has no cohesion, it is more a collection of parts. Each part is sort of OK, but the heart/soul is missing.

The crowd obviously still has the original in their head and cheer for everything, they know what is coming.

If you don't understand or agree, listen to the original (is also live) and judge for yourself. Then take the original of e.g Comfortably numb, compare to live.
