Funny thing is the IRA (I ran away) managed to hand over their arms,adhere to a peace process in a country where there are still thousands of British troops in residence and silly little tossers like Lttrent16 still insist on posting shite about the IRA ( I ran away) being undefeated. And by the way, you can have NI, its a shit hole, we don't want it.
This is the official march of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery...same as the Royal Regiment of Artillery. The Reigning Crown is/will always be Captain-General. It is marched to at 110 paces to the minute unlike all other military units that march at a slower pace.
Its really a shame that the UK is a shadow of its former self. Im an American, but definately a supporter of our best ally the UK. I just wish their Militarry (Air Force, Navy, Army,) would not hve been cut into the tiny GROSSLY underpowered force it is today. The world was a better place with the British Empire still intact.
@TheTrooper451 Be it as it may, the name "American" was given to us by you blokes before the war.....as an insult. Because British parliament didn't see American colonists "fit" to be British citizens even if it was their native country due many years of living over there and due to salutary neglect by the crown. This led us to govern ourselves and was one of the many factors for the seeking of independence. So technically it was Americans who fought in 1776.
@TheTrooper451 A close conglomerate of friends is more appropriate. A little bit of humility goes a long way. I know your winding, but it can be annoying.
@itsyaboiren That is true enough. And what is also true, is that King Louis XVI of France was going bankrupt at the time of the American War of Independence. He saw fit that a British Colony was fighting against France's biggest, old enemies the English (since 1066) and so saw fit to supply them with gun's and ammo, under the counter. With the help of Necter,one of the biggest banksters from, Geneva, Switzerland, Louis XVI, won that battle.
@cosmictimes I would say if it wasn't for France, it would of been a lost cause tho. British troops outnumbered Americans 3:1 in the early days of the war. Had to result to guerrilla warfare instead of the traditional line battle. Cornwallis called us a bunch of cowards for fighting that way but if we didn't, we would of had our asses kicked every fight. The tactic proved successful as British troops were marched all over the place and as officers were picked off.
@itsyaboiren But What Louis XVI did not expect nor count on, was the fact that blood is thicker than water. Even though France had slipped in the boats, armaments and money ......the protestant bougeois, were not to be fooled by the trappings of Paris
@cosmictimes France was partially bankrupt before the War. King Louis XVI, expected rich dividends after it. Especially as the Yank Brits had fought the UK Brits. But instead, America chose to stick with her trade partner and deal especially with the mother country and so .......... France became even more Franked Up
@cosmictimes As for America's debt with France, that was paid off after then secretary of treasury Alexander Hamilton was given the job. Because the government was given the authority to take charge of all debts the U.S had, it made it easier to square away any monetary debts it had with France, Spain, and others that helped in our cause using dutch capitals, etc.
@itsyaboiren Still doesn't explain why America,after fighting a war with the British, still wanted to keep trading, retain and have Britain as a number one friend after the war.
@cosmictimes There were some British elites that agreed with the fact that America should be independent and that a good trade relationship not only would help heal a burned bridge but help out financially. War is always expensive and the U.S would no doubt agree with that. We will always look towards peace before and after war. Where would we be without our British cousins during the two world wars? To have an ally that will be there with you forever? It's all foreign policy.
As an American i support the British, if it weren't for them we wouldn't be where we are today. through the central powers of WW1, and the oppression of the 3rd Reich in WW2, America will always have your back. God save the UK, our true ally!!!

@itsyaboiren good reply my friend.
i can see your point of view,i think that we both can agree that your country was better off without britain any way.
but the war was not popular in this country so was not prosecuted to its full extent.
saying that i am in no way belittling your victory over the empire.
