90s lakers were great to watch but the west conference was too strong, especially since players fled the east to get away from the bulls in the playoffs
I remember when Cedric came into the Jet Ski shop I worked at in Corona. He said "I'm heading out to the river right now." I knew the Lakers had a game in like 3 hours, I couldn't believe it!! He got paid millions to play basket ball and he "called in sick" to go ride Jet Skis's... WTF was wrong with that guy.
Cedric CeBALLHOG, LOL!!!! Man, I was soooooooooooooooooo happy the day that clown got dealt to the Suns for Big Shot Rob (Horry), in some ways even more so than when Kwame got bounced in favor of Pau Gasol. That's when I started noticing the front office slowly putting together yet another championship team.
club ced was one of the most hood rat fools on the lake show during the 90's. didnt that fool skip out on a few playoff games because he was in club med?
I was in college during these yrs & it cracks me up EVERYTIME to see the comments of these stupid ass YouTube kids talkin' about there were no big, strong, athletic or fast perimeter players B4 2000 LOL!!
Let their ignorant ass generation tell it, these things didn't exist until kobe came along or they started watchin' basketball LOL!!
@blackadam06 yeah i feel u..but ceballos played small forward and was 6 ft 6 190 lbs....lol...dat is small for a small forward today....shyt kobe came in 6 ft 6 199 and was a sg..
so you miss the days of the lakers being?"scrubs"? you mean after magic and showtime? and before kobe and shaq? you miss those days?.... the days of cedric, nick, eddie, eldin, and vladi? ... you miss those days?.... lmfaotf!!!!... lol... lol... oh ord lord... lol
Ha Ha you had to mention Eldin, I purposely avoided him - replace him with Barkley and maybe you got a trophy. But u gotta admit, to watch those players, a 50 win season and loss in second round to a tough Spurs, was to love 'em.
Um...kind of, yes, for me. They were still fun to watch, and they weren't horrible. The 1990's were the Bulls era, so it was okay to not expect domination and championships, and you can just watch the game and have fun and learn what being a real fan is all about.
i used to watch all the lakers games on a small 13 inch tv with the picture all fuzzy :) thumbs up if u did a similar thing in the 90s!

Still remember this moment growing up in LA. It was a big deal then. Until Kobe took the 50 point game to a whole new level. Lakers for Life

I'm a hardcore Lakers fan and seeing Del Harris as the coach just doesn't look right. I'm used to Phil Jackson and Pat Riley.

I never understood why they called him a 'dependable' player (or 'one-dimensional') sometimes....
do you know?
Gauchoo1234 3 years ago
I guess that's because his outside shooting wasn't reliable. Great scorer, anyway.

Its to bad that Ceballos had to retire so early, them damn knee injuries just wont leave the players alone.

That, and he didn't share the same desire for basketball as he did for knockin' up bitches from Ventura County.

Cedric was the player that got me to love the NBA. Ceballos, Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and Elden Campbell. I loved watching those guys.

I tell you man I've never seen a more complete under the backboard player than Ced was. Just dangerous as hell

Great times! Cedric would always snatch those offensive boards and get those quick layups.
