Idiot. This is an old song from an EP two albums ago, and this IS the Dresden Dolls' sound. And of course it's changed over time- a lot of the songs from the first album were songs Amanda had written growing up, in an angstier time of her life when she was dealing w/ a lot of creative frustration from trying to assert herself as a musician & not knowing how her particular voice would be received- but it's nevertheless expressed w/ simultaneously more sincerity and force than most can accomplish
