You might also want to try using an old alternator from a car and just have it geared up with a belt or something as that would provide a good source of electricity as long as you have a battery connected.

Very good idea. I'm not too sure about the venturi working because the pressure on that side of the boiler is going to be the same as the pressure on the other side of the boiler, which would mean that you will need to have a sort of heating system and one way valve to increase the pressure of the steam in the line going to the venturi from the other side of the boiler, you would also need a one way valve to stop the exhaust steam back flowing from the excess pressure. (a ball bearing would work
@dquad I assure you that a venturi does work for recirculation of water. All modern stationary and marine use steam engines use venturi's to avoid needing tons of water and energy loss. (Search google for "steam injector wiki" and hit the wiki page)
But basically by changing the size of the piping you change pressure and velocity of the steam, which powers the movement of the steam/condensate from the output of the engine back into the boiler.
