Love the band. The Amory wars sucks. Just being honest. A good artist doesn't necessarily make a good comic. Don't rage at me either cause you're just gonna get a "U MAD BRO?" from me
I have to admit, I like this video to the music a whole lot better than the actual video itself. Don't get me wrong, I think the official video is good too, but this one, the unofficial official video, just seems to fit the song so much better.
Not to mention, Metropolis is an amazing film. Fritz Lang did it so well.
I love this video, its very quirky in the way I've come to expect from Claudio. I also enjoy the kind of background representation of Dr. Leonard Hohenberger creating Coheed.
@fizzlewinks I've been a fan of Coheed since Second Stage Turbine Blade, and I'm well aware of the Penelope EP, Shabutie, and lots of other shit from their past, not to mention intricacies of the story. Nonetheless, Year of the Black Rainbow is my favourite album of this year, and an incredible Coheed album. Just saying there's no need to belittle people simply because they disagree with you.
This is the third time this movie has randomly popped into my life in the past month. And yes, it is similar to the way Jesse, Cambria and Coheed were "born".
Since Josephine was born within the first 12 Amory Wars comics differently than in the YOBR novel, how do you think they are going to fix that when adapted to comics?
okay silkyhands914, it's not the next single. Claudio made a fan video for his fans. they do this kind of stuff all the time. every single song they have written is amazing, but they cant have a video for a single for every song can they? they do this to give back to their fans, keep their fans proud of the band that they are and it shows they arent all about their look or image.
@Midnoght015 Not to be rude, but it is the next single, it said so in the official Coheed mailing list:
"Claudio created this video for Coheed and Cambria’s new single "World of Lines" using footage from the Fritz Lang classic 1927 German Sci-fi film, “Metropolis.”
WOW great song and an amazing video, fuck i love coheed they are one of the few bands that are 100% about the music, not their image or being a top 20 hit, just making amazing music that they love making ( the whole story aspect just adds to the epicness), Co&Ca for life
why is world of lines the next single i mean there are way better songs than this, pearl, guns of summer, flame of error, far, made of nothing, come on.
@silkyhands914 Personally, World of Lines is one of the few songs off Black Rainbow I like. I'm not a huge fan of the album. But seriously, Guns of Summer? That song is hands down the worst song they've made. Although I agree that Pearl of the Stars and Far are better, I don't feel they would stand up as singles. Especailly since they sound more like Prize Fighter songs than Coheed songs.
@fizzlewinks Dude....Guns of Summer is such a rad song. Different like Coheed and Cambria have always been. Pull the song apart instrument for instrument and try to figure out exactly what is going on in that song. It is very epic.
The song may be different compared to other coheed songs, but that's only because it's just a generic metal song, unlike what Coheed usually makes. There is so much background noise that it get's irritating. I do enjoy the drums in that song, but the guitar riff that last through out the entire damn song is annoying and generic. Yeah the song may be "epic" but ever since Welcome Home was successful it seems that's all they care about. Not every song needs to be epic. Just my opinion.
@fizzlewinks I agree, the album overall personally was a big disappointment. I count this as the "first" in the series, being as it's set before SSTB:2, so I was expecting songs like Time Consumer and Junesong Provision. This is not Coheed tbf :( I hope they do another album, but this time with a complete nostalgia boost, I mean what happened to songs like Fuel For The Feeding End and The End Complete III. It's like this type of song is completely banished from Black rainbow.
@crazychris93 That's what I was expecting as well, it would have been great if they had done that. Instead we got a generic metal album. The album isn't bad, not at all. It just doesn't feel like Coheed to me. Ever since Welcome home was successful land Coheed gained more "metal" fans, they've gotten heavier and more plain sounding. And lets face it, the people who enjoy this album so much probably don't even know what SSTB is, let alone Elf Tower New Mexico.
@fizzlewinks This is not metal at all... The songs are not "more plain." I will admit the lyrics are not quite as good as they use to be. I enjoy this album a lot and have been a fan for 10 years.
@Shabutie97 The song in question was Guns of Summer, not World of Lines. And yes, there was a lot of background noise in that song. You're ability to read is suspect, but I guess that's why you removed your comment huh? Too bad it still got e-mailed to me. And as for the songs sounding more plain, that is simply my opinion, and I don't expect everyone to feel the same way.
@fizzlewinks I realized that and deleted it... You responded to something that was clearly removed out of mistake. There was a backround synth in Guns of Summer, not sure why they put that in.
@fizzlewinks I have known the band since late shabuttie era, I enjoy all of their albums, except the dark sheep IMHO which was No world for tomorrow, whilst YOTBR redeemed coheed due to claudio including many of the styles of prior CD's ( vocally and some guitar styles). Although my favorite song will always be the velorium camper III: Al the killer, followed by IKSOSE3 and then world of lines, don't get me wrong, Delirium trigger is awesome and all but IKSOSE is the best album
@Reaperscreepers I agree 100% that IKSOSE3 is by far their best album. However, I'm a little confused on how you would consider No World For Tomorrow the "black sheep." If anything, in my opinion, No World was the closest we will get to another IKSOSE3 (Not in quality, but in style). It had a nice mix of the up beat songs, such as Radio Bye Bye and Feathers, and heavier dark songs, The End Complete and No World For Tomorrow. That's why I loved IKSOSE3. Not the best album, but I'll always
@fizzlewinks You see actually I find No world as a bit more generic where they tried to go for the "Epic" style that FFTtEoM gave some glimpses of (in songs like Welcome home, which is a good song but IMO it wasn't completly in coheed's style). I don't actually hate any album of coheed just No world is my least favorite. Sure YOTBR still has those glimpses but you can also sense a lot of songs glimpses of their past album styles, in no world just listen to Claudio's voice pitch and compare it
@Reaperscreepers rank it higher than YOTBR. This cd was just such a let down for me. I've tried many times to get into the album but never had any success. In my honest opinion, terrible way to end a saga. Just terrible.

I think that as long as claudio signed off on or maybe even mashed these clips himself, I don't care if they filmed this personally or not. I like it, and I'll take an interest in finding this movie now.
With all respect, this video was never ment to end up appearing on mtv or anything. Claudio made this on their tour bus just for his fun and for us as fans. He said that he wanted to show people what an awesome movie this is. So in a sense it is a fan made video by Claudio himself. I think its awesome he takes the time and effort to do stuff like this for the fans.
I really enjoyed the song, but the video feels more like many of the videos on youtube with a movie, anime, etc. spliced together with a cool song in the background.
@xNeverenderx87 To be fair, all it is is footage from the movie Metropolis. It comes off way too much like a fan video than as a legitimate music video.
@SeanStrife I agree. After such an epic video for Here We Are Juggernaut, I kind expected more. Maybe if it were spliced in with scenes of the band playing or something dressed in the same style as the footage and on a similar looking set. Oh well. The song is still tight.
What? Coheed have rarely done songs to suite the concept! Here We Are Juggernaut and Welcome Home are really the only 2! But this is sooooo good! I love it when Claudio does his own video, like The Final Cut! EPIC!!!!
@Darkfirelol1019 I would also enjoy having Chris' babies, and Mike's and, Travis' though I'm a guy....we can get a few surrogate mothers so it's all good I guess.
This song makes me drive fast. This should be in a driving game.
