I work for CenturyTel, the company that bought Embarq. I can assure you that we do not use foreign call centers for any reason. All of our call centers are located in the US and it will stay that way. Customer service will be much better under the leadership of CenturyTel. The new combined company name is CenturyLink, by the way.

Regardless of what they call Embarq, they are a shitty company. You get calls from foreigners who can barely speak English when you are late paying your bill. How can you collect money from me when you can't even speak English. Not to mention they will add things to your bill that you didn't authorize. They let ESBI add some bogus charge to my bill and they knew it was fraudulent. Great fuckin company
