I remember playing this my junior year in All State. I was 7th chair Red Band (top band) and this was a freaking awesome piece! I miss playing stuff like this...but I agree...there's too much in the wrong places with percussion and a lot of the wrong people are trying to overpower the theme.

The sound is sort of drowned out by the percussion, especially the guy playing with the mallets. Other than that and the oboe, it really is a wonderful piece.

tom is on the left in percussion... that is the guest conductor woodruff i think. he plays flute.

oboe went too high in beginning solo.

no the trumpeter only went up to Eb when it was supposed to be F# at the end of the solo.

where the written music is eithnotes with two dots over each note indicating quick double tounging. I played this song this year, so i know. haha. it's it's all good.

I guess. But yeah I know the solo I have it memorized, my ears just arent as good I suppose.
