  • In 2006, I put into E. Fork at Duck Valley in late July. It took 5 wonderful days to get to 3 Forks. Flows at Rome were in the neighborhood of 143 cfs. With a dog and a leaky K79 Tahiti, I felt truly adventurous. It's interesting to see the falls with actual water- on my trip they were canyon wall-to-canyon wall giant boulder barriers to find a way through, over, or around. I did recognize the portage trail- I did it in a raging T-storm.

  • @mountainmangillette Sounds like a wonderful trip. We've been on the East fork at 120 cfs, about your same level of water. I'm amazed you were able to do it in just 5 days to Three Forks in such low slow water. Your days might have been longer. We had a lot of wind on that low water trip, and of course, we stop alot for exploring and my video work. We would have loved to hear your thunderstorm in that canyon. Thanks for your comments.

  • Thank you. That was a fantastic journey you just took me on. I love your video style.

  • Thanks John, really appreciate the encouraging remarks.

  • what was the flow?

  • Flow at time of put-in was 2020 cfs. By the time we took out it was 1240cfs. This was per the Rome gage.

  • we just did it at 1400-1500 (rafts) I think anything less than that wouldn't be much fun lol

  • Very Nice, Well done summarizing the whole trip. You have striked my interest in the Owhee. It's close to home. I would love a nice scenic, less adrenaline filled float with some canyon. Great Footage w/ plants, & steady camera work.
