Either Eden is not-so-straight and in love with a girl in New York, or she has an illegitimate daughter hidden somewhere. Considering she's never been pregnant, I'm going to go with the first one...

amy, if you listen to the words the way she changed it, it can sound like she's singing to a child or something, but rachel and i decided she'd had to have been like....13 when she had this kid, so we ruled it out. ahahahaha

It's supposed to be about her... hence the pronoun change. You'll notice another change in the lyrics: "wrap your avenues around ME"... "cause *I* was born to bear your witness"... she made the song about her. Intentionally.
