  • WTF this music?

  • NUUUUUB !

  • why would you place pressure above the catheter when blood flow in a vein moves distal to proximal?

  • @Byrne27 I was wondering the same thing.

  • @Byrne27 that's standard practice. The catheter is located proximal to the site of entry so applying the pressure there closes the catheter AND the vein temporary while securing the saline lock.

  • twilight

  • why on God's green earth did you let go of the sharp before you retracted it?

  • get the color back

  • In the first example, the person inserting the IV placed their gloved finger directly over the insertion site. This is NOT best practice, as the insertion site should be kept as clean as possible, and the gloves used in IV insertion are not sterile gloves.

  • be a doctor anesthesiologist dont be a nurse

  • @q8dentist why not a nurse? I don't want to go through residency. At all.

  • ouch! I want to go to med school to be a nurse (RN), and I hope to someday become a nurse anesthetist (CRNA). But the needles scare me--I don't want to hurt someone!

Thanks for the tips, they explained so much. :)
