amazing, round the end, trills so short they would seem almost impossible to be sang so fully and clearly yet sumi jo sings them just as if Mozart had her skills in mind when he composed this....flawless

Silvia Voinea, Edita Gruberova s.a.m.d.
And in a day and age like this where we'd be grateful if a singer can trill at all, praise must be given to those who can bite into the trill without starting it, in the middle of flowing, complex phrases which tax the breath. Jo's technique was quite impeccable--a formidably trained coloratura.
@jeremya1b2c3 High notes aren't everything for a coloratura. The term COLORATURA is the ability to color and lighten for example fast runs, trills and many other important things in coloratura singing - AND Sumi can go beyond high F#6. But I don't say that Sylvia Geszty is bad - but you can't compare them because perhaps Sylvia can reach higher notes. Sorry for my bad english.
This is wonderful! It sounds so easy for her. I would perfer her to Dessay anytime. And Mozart's arias are much better without Dessay's stupid ornamentations. Gruberova is my favourite, but like moghedien13 I also like the staccato Sumi Jo makes at the the end. A pity Gruberova never did that (because it's beyond doubt that she could).
Ive heard Dessay and Gruberova and im sure onstage either of then could outpower her in this aria, but Sumi's tone is by far my favourite for this. and i like how she staccatos all the notes at the end.
she's got the whole Mozartian light yet powerful texture in her voice...there's nothing to say other than that shye does this perfectly...I listened to Dessay singing this song as well but she's a little heavy...but she is still very good....but in comparison, sumi jo stands out.
The best version for this aria

She is the best a singing Mozart in my opinion. Something about her voice is just so... PERFECT for his music.

she is not human she is an artist very simple indeed;))

I prefer Damrau's version but there's nothing technical wrong with Sumi's. Gorgeous too.

Sylvia Geszty is better.
I can't understand why Sumi Jo, whoes sometimes can't sing very high, is so famous.

Who the hell is Sylvia Geszly?

@RachelJonasKing88
Totally agree, I sat transfixed as Sumi Jo sang this live, 25-11-1.
2 days later her voice still sings in my head and I cannot help but sigh over her beauty and grace on stage.
What future without more Sumi Jo? :(

I still can not believe that i heard her live this aria in amsterdam concertgebouw in 2006.
It was awesome. I could not even breath as hearing her Mozart live concert.
