My sympathies go to the victims and their families, However, in this modern society there is no place for the death penalty, we should be looking at rehabilitation based sentences for most criminals or life with out parole for societys worst criminals, what the system is doing to Charles Dean Hood and the other HUMAN BEINGS on death row equates to torture. Americans will never agree with the fact that no one has the right to take the life of another, even though I completely agree that some people do not deserve to live. For those of you who are not as dumb as the cheater, you can not impose a sentence that did not exist at the time the crime was committed. Lwop did not exist back in 1989 when Hood murdered those people. Additionally, lwop is a more severe sentence than life with parole. The ex post facto clause prohibits the imposition of a more severe sentence retroactively. Therefore, Hood can not be resentenced to lwop, which is more severe than life with the possibility of parole.

Don't answer stuff like "I wouldnt be there in the first place" etc 'cause that's not what I asked. Just a simple yes or no. If not... then why do it to others? Why even risk putting innocent people through it? I'm not saying Hood in specific is innocent.. but there are innocent people on death row aswell. Why should they suffer?

He is full of empathy and love and has more faith in God than anyone I have ever met. For those of you who are not as dumb as the cheater, you can not impose a sentence that did not exist at the time the crime was committed. Lwop did not exist back in 1989 when Hood murdered those people. Additionally, lwop is a more severe sentence than life with parole. The ex post facto clause prohibits the imposition of a more severe sentence retroactively. Therefore, Hood can not be resentenced to lwop, which is more severe than life with the possibility of parole.
