  • Completely agree. Experts on how "communion in the hand" during the early Church days have said that when it was practiced (rare, as it was), the faithful would then be required to lick their hands clean after touching the host. Also, the hands would be thoroughly cleansed before and after receiving Holy Communion.

  • Excellent Video... Peace and Blessings

  • The Princes of the Church will be the ones who will have to answer for this. When did any of us ever hear a sermon about the proper precautions we must take when receiving communion in the hand? I suspect most of the lay people are completely oblivious to the seriousness of this. Personally I never felt that it was right to touch the sacred host with my slimy hands,

  • you're awesome, MORE VIDEOS!

  • I was yelled at for kneeling at a New mass, "what is this over- devotion to the Eucharist?" I was told.

  • You, Sir, are now my first favourite channel.

God Bless your work dear beloved brother in Christ.

  • Just today before communion I had an urge to receive Christ on the tongue. It was the first time I think since my first communion that I did this. I will continue to do so in the future!

  • Você poderia incluir legendas em português??

Could y can translate to the portugues, putting leggend in portugues??

    please.

    Thanks i´m from Brasil

  • I am keeping this video in mind considering I am going through R.C.I.A. Thanks for posting this. God Bless+ + +

  • I love this video, it's factual and it's relevant to all Catholics. I receive the Holy Eucharest on the tongue (i'm the only one during my mass session to do so), but I just had this thought that whenever the alter boy puts the Paten beneath my chin, he flips it around once I'm done receiving the Lord. This means that the any particles from the Holy Eucharest must be tossed to the floor. Should I make this known to the priest? BTW, please keep the videos! i'm gonna add it to my favourites!!thx

  • @sungmoon1987 Please inform him... You actully have an obligationto tell him. God bless you and dont stop fighting the good fight!

  • @davidsinjon swine flu is gone now, you can go back to receiving on the tongue

  • i feel like a bigot

  • "theological shredded wheat" haha. I really enjoy your delivery.

Thank you for the food for thought. This had truly never crossed my mind, and I'm glad you took the time to point it out.

  • About 2 months ago, I suspected that some particle of the Body of Christ might remain in my hand after receiving the Host. On one occasion there remained a small piece of the Eucharist after I took hold of the Host and placed it in my mouth. I consumed the particle as well. I had to inspect my hand every time after receiving.

Your video convinced me to receive on the tongue. Thank you.

  • This is good to know, because I will be going through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) and getting baptized in the Catholic Church. So, thanks for posting this video. God Bless+ + +

  • Wow! This good man has just proven what I have suspected for some time. What this means, is that I have spent a good portion of my life "desecrating the body of my Lord". IF INDEED a valid consecration takes place at these carnivals known as Novus Ordo Missae. Which lately, I am now leaning towards that it does indeed take place. What an abomination and sacrilege of the highest order...

  • this is a great video!!!!!!!

  • Classic - "It's going to end up there anyway"

Communion on the tongue increases humility which is our capacity to receive all that the LORD has in himself to give us.

  • good job covering a subject that is not talked about much in the community. I really appreciated this video

  • You are so cool.

  • @davidsinjon [91.] In distributing Holy Communion it is to be remembered that “sacred ministers may not deny the sacraments to those who seek them in a reasonable manner, are rightly disposed, and are not prohibited by law from receiving them”.Redemptionis Sacramentum. The Bishop can only recomend this he cannot command, see the afore mentioned document for more information.

  • @davidsinjon your Bishop cannot command you not to receive on the tongue he can only advise otherwise, it is a right upheld by the Holy Father

  • I am posting this on the USCCB facebook page, and other Catholic Pages on Facebook. Pray 3 Hail Marys for many view and Conversions from this insane practice of receiving on the hand.

I advise all of you to do the same!

  • "[93.] The Communion-plate for the Communion of the faithful should be retained, so as to avoid the danger of the sacred host or some fragment of it falling"

    Redemptionis Sacramentum.

The German translation starts with "Es ist notwendig,.." = "It is necessary", not a mere "should".

  • Wow.

I always receive in the mouth.

  • Dude your AWESOME and soooooooo true never really thought about it that way!! :D

  • Absolutely, that tiny little fragment that was separated from the whole consecrated Host is actually the FULL & WHOLE Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • This is only one of the reasons why I do NOT receive in the hand. I just don't like that. I find it more reverent receiving Jesus on the tongue.

  • Shame that priests, bishops maybe, but that they give the communnion in the hand, most of the people dont even wash them before the mass and also during the mass hands can gett dirty... in the tongue there are less chances that the particles fall to the floor, thats why we recieve it in the tongue..but it must be used with pattems under mouth. We as members of the Catholic church must talk to the priets or bishops to start following logic of theology and the simply logic of humans it is our duty

  • @davidsinjon

Your bishop only has authority to deny communion in the hand. Communion on the tongue can only be denied by the Vatican.

Your bishop can ASK people to receive on the hand for health reasons, but he cannot deny communion on the tongue. He does not have that authority.

  • It really is a sad reality that I used to 'take' communion in my hand and not be aware of Christ being wiped off the side of my pants like I was wiping grease off my hand... I am SO SORRY GOD! Thank you for this evidence of how we should, if taking communion in the hand, be careful so as to not desecrate the Eucharist! God bless you! :)

  • continuing... This video, however, is very revealing, and after further reflection have concluded that it would be prudent to receive the Blessed Sacrament on the tongue from this point on. Thanks for your effort.

  • We received a message from the Bishop that we should bow, not kneel, but receive on the tongue or hands. I have never been denied Communion on the tongue, but started receiving in the hand as a lector. They had us and the EMs coming behind the altar and would distribute to all, then the priest would consume the Host and we would follow. I was glad that they asked only EMs to go up there from now on, but I still received Communion in the hand and had looked but not noticed pieces falling off.

  • Your point was extremely well taken. Great video. I guess the real question is; do people who receive in the hand even care about this?

  • I would imagine that many of them do, and to say something like this seems a bit uncharitable.

  • After watching this, all I could say is

what have I done? I even avoid walking where Holy Communion is distributed, for fear of steeping on a dropped particle.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan They fall even if we receive on the tongue (Which I do). We need to BRING BACK THE PATENS! I found one on the top of the kneeler when I was serving the morning.

  • The use of the communion plate should be retained- Redemptiones Sacramentum.... unfortunately not many follow the pope. Priests, nuns, relig. educators, bishops can allow be wrong, but in faith and morals the Pope alone is never wrong.

  • @kolbe1019

The 2004 document Sacramentum Redemptionis mandates the use of communion plates.

  • you are so funny. hahaha. but i mean this is a serious topic, but you still managed to make this interesting to watch.

  • I'm really glad that I've never touched the Eucharist with my hands after watching this. Well done

  • i used always receive it in my hand but now this has made me think, im gonna get it on the toungue from now on.......

  • OMG this is excellent! I was raised to receive communion on the tongue and although I never received it on the hand I was always tempted to receive it in the hand, especially recently, but after watching this I am soooooo happy I never have and that I was raised not too. After watching this I never will.

  • BRAVO!!!!!! an excellent job..each Sunday I see our Lord being abused and it absolutely brings me to tears...our priest piles all the vessels on top of one another to pass to the lay distributors..have brought it up he is still doing it to "save" time it is only 6 vessels please pray that he changes his mind and respects our LOrd alot more

  • Pray the Rosary Daily. I, with the Rosary alone, adverted Liturgical Dancing and a Life Teen "Mass on the Grass".

  • Though gas is high and not everyone can afford to find another nearby parish, maybe we should find another parish that will give us a choice to receive in hand or on placed on our tongue.

  • @davidsinjon, @hro1957 They can't dis-allow you to receive on the tongue. It is strictly forbidden. Every Catholic has the RIGHT to receive on the tongue and/or kneeling. Just do a Google search for the docs - there have been a number on the topic, Redemptionis Sacramentum included. Part 2 of this set explicitly addresses the topic as well.

  • Everyone should think about the serious sacrilege from Jesus - in the form of tiny particles - being stepped on, kept in packets, and who knows what other abuses. Communion in the hand was started by disobedience of certain bishops, and was spread in the USA by lies - yes, lies - used by certain bishops to get it approved as an indult - that is a special exception.

  • Thank you. You are SO right. It is serious, SERIOUS sacrilege!

  • I will ABSOLUTELY refuse to receive the Host in my hand. It must be placed on my tongue. During the H1N1 scare a few months ago, our bishop stated that the Host would be placed on our hand at our Diocese. I didn't receive communion during that time but instead received the deacon's blessing when I walked up to the alter. Now that we can receive the Host in our tongue, I am back to confession and receiving Christ's Body on my tongue. God bless you for this interesting video.

  • excellent message. good video. worthwhile demonstration. good quotes and sightings. I am very glad to see this topic being adressed by someone of your age. P.S. where can someone find official Chuch documents relating to the councils and such?

  • Thank you for the new knowledge Gob bless you

  • Okay, but at my church Deacons help the priest give out the host. And they give it in the hand, they don't put it directly into your mouth around where I live anymore. Plus, I never had crumbs left over, that I've noticed. But now that you've brought it to light, I'll be more careful.

  • Not CRUBS, those are Sacred Particles. Communion in the Hand was Started in Holland by disobedient bishops. It was so wide spread that Rome acquiesced to the abuse. Just like altar girls. Our current pope recommends Holy Communion on the tongue and kneeling.

Please check other YOUTUBE videos as proof to my statements.

  • Love it!!!!!

    God bless you

  • THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!!!! Prayers and greetings from Denmark!! + God bless +
