will this engine work for saltwater aplications? for a 22 boston whaler? im guessing its not ment for that though just wondering because i found a deal on one
Basically, the answer ir yes. All rhe performance boats need to be run and set up correctly. I always try to break them in for the customers. If I was to leave it to them, they may have problems. It's not like it's a fishbote or some dorky bowrider.
my buddy put one of those engines on a 21 ft hewes redfisher, jackplate, trimtabs chopper prop. it pushed that boat around like a toy, one hell of a ride lol

thing sounds AWSOME... ive always owned John-rudes, just got a new yamy 4 stroke 115, mostly for fishin,, but for GOIN FAST and kickin ass,, you cant beat a MERC

Yes, all motors can work in salt or fresh. The "SALTWATER" motors are no different. It's just the decals and a marketing stategy.

Only one problem-it is SO small. After you cruise up and down the lake 4 times, you say "now what?", and go home.

sounds great. the pitch on that prop is unreal. i guess its needed to give it that hog a work out. i dont see motors that big where i live and fish.
