why when i open my photoshop cs4 my cursor cannot change mode? i mean when i place my cursor in the background my coursor becomes a little hand i cannot change it!!! what can i do plzzz help!!

i have same problem but i found it...maby is little amateur but it helps...ctrl+alt+space+and click the left button of mouse..then u will see the cursor became a zoom out tool...and thats it u can select other tools....this is zoom out tool and it works all the time ...for me ....i dont know different styles....hope it helps

everything worked great for me up until i got to the second gradiant. a hand popped up and wouldnt go away... i cound do anything.. even if i hit the T tool i still could not add text... only the hand tool... oh well... i learned a lot with this video and i can apply it elsewhere

Question:

How do you automatically create a new layer when you drew the shape in the beginning? Cause I can't move the shape since I don't think I was able to create a new layer. Instead I drew on the original layer which is the background.

Make shure you have "Shape Layers" is selected in the top of the screen wen you select the "Rounded Rectagle tool". Its in the bar where you set the radius of the Rectangle

Do you have the "linear Gradient" "Radial Gradient" "Angle Gradient" "Reflected Gradient" or the "Diamond Gradient" ?? And what "Mode" do you have?

When I do what yo do at this video, the same thing doesnt happens.

thanks you rule- can you answer me this though-when i did the final step for the reflection. when i did the gradient tool, it did it but i had to go over it over and over again about ten times to get it to fade out like yours did on the first try. can you please tell me why--i really need to know
