A tree hiding behind a tree! I love it! XD

I totally can't see the giant arm sticking out from behind it either.

  • Outstanding!

  • Watching the tobanga!!!!

  • I'm happy my nephew found the complete ( It came from hell) movie and burned it to a DVD!!! Now I have the movie that scared the f.. K out of me when I was a kid.I'll make my kids watch it too.

  • Love it!!!!

  • WOW!! I remember this movie back in the early 60s!! I just found it After 44 years!!I will burn it on to a disk and cherish it!

  • I love this cheesy movie.......my favorite scene is when the two native see the "Tabonga", they run to the white doctors, tell that the "Tabonga" is alive and running rampant and the doctor tell the natives to "wait out side" that cracks me up everytime.

  • See, now this is why we have to slash and burn all the forests!

  • This had the fakest "quicksand" I've ever seen in a movie-just a pool of water with a load of cork bits floating on it.

  • Wow. And I thought movies were bad NOW, but THIS is a good kind of bad movie, perfect for Mystery Science Theatre 3000!!

  • Katanna Island God say: Woman who swim in quicksand get sand in Schlitz!

  • Felt really sorry for that poor girl(=^[

  • Quick! Grab a hold of this branch!

  • The guy who turned into the Creature of Revenge, the Tabonga, was married to her when he was alive. She probably wouldn't go down on him, so he made sure she went "down" in the quicksand!

  • and to hell it can go

  • Dog that's the meanest power ranger villain ever

  • She didn't like the apples

  • This film was due to call "The Indian who drowned in Nesquik" ...

  • i love it!!!! The girl dying in the quicksand, PLUS a barefoot catfight!!

  • Inspired one of the most infamous movie reviews of all time: "And to hell it can go!"

  • Tabonga come!!! Tabonga kill!!!

  • Comment removed

  • One of the worst movies EVER! But worth it all to see that barefoot babe sink to her heath in quicksand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would love to sink in there with her.

  • Pause at 0:50 um...

  • i NEED Tabonga for this orgy i'm hosting

  • I love how she was motionless and unresponsive until she realized the monster was taking her to the water, lol.

  • my dads cousin is a big fan of these b horror movies and he had hundreds of them. i remember watching this as a kid like 5 or 6 and being scared shitless lol of a damn tree!!!

  • I paid money (probably 25 cents) to see this flick - fab Tabonga! - maybe Monsanto can make an army of them soon.

  • classic line from the film: the towabunga is running amok.

  • I was actually quire frightened when I saw this as a child. The music was classic for horror flicks back then. Of course it's dumb, but it brings back memories none-the-less.

  • where's a wood chipper when you need it?

  • dumb bitch swims further into the mud, 56 stupid people like stupid shit

  • @love4lust7301 You may want to look behind you for the point. I think it sailed right over your head...

  • @love4lust7301 HAaaaaaaaahahahaha!!!

  • Who runs like that when someone's trying to kill you? XD

  • LMAO TREEKILLERBOOKSTORE site is what reminds me

  • I love that they keep cutting back to the monster for reaction shots despite the fact that his expression never changes.

  • I saw this movie when I was a kid in the 50's and I laughed my ass off even then!

  • Too bad the thing didn't have thumbs. He could have pulled the knife from his own chest....

  • Horrible acting, horrible "fight scene", and AWESOMELY horribly bad monster!

  • Doesn't anybody have an Ax? O.K. How about a rope or Tarzan vine tied between two trees. He'll never get back up! Like a turtle on it's back. And then an Ax!

  • Why all the monsters in old movies kept taking women in their arms ?

  • @clovince

Because the misfit teen boys could relate.

The girl screams and faints and the monster takes her in his arms to his little hide-away!

  • @forrykid Ha... That's prolly right ;)

  • I want to get this movie. can anyone help?

  • not the TREE MONSTER!

  • Why does she kick away from the shoreline?

  • The tree has no mercy. How mean. it could have helped her.

  • it came from my ass!

  • The absolute BEST killer tree stump movie EVER

  • this is the greatest scene i've ever seen. Tree monster grabs polynesian tootsie and dunks her into the conveniently placed nearby quicksand. movie magic doesn't get any better than this.

  • OH NOES!!!!!

  • I've been searching for this movie for a long time. Has anyone seen where you could watch the whole film in parts here on Youtube?

  • why did 'the 'tree monster' kill the the guys and carry off the women? HUBBA-HUBBA!

  • did anyone notice you can see the costume guy's eyes inside the monster's mouth?

  • looks like those two chicks gave him wood

  • is a girl fight... rip your cloth off!!!

  • Where is Tom Bombadil or Treebeard when you need him!?

  • HAHAHAHA! they actually called THIS...a MOVIE??! xD

  • this is SOOO COOOL O_O XD

  • Great MOVIE, in the MOST AWFUL way possible!

  • how could that tree do that to such a thing

  • give me a bag of weed and i'll watch it

  • Wow, I thought this was a scary movie when I was a kid. Now it is scary that someone made it in the first place. Throw the recording into the quick sand . Hope it never resurfaces.

  • This scene scarred me for life when I was a kid.

  • AND I thought the big heavy root that causes a large sharp bump in the road by where I live was bad.

  • LOTR by Ed Wood haha

  • He must have liked her despite the fact he killed her. She gave him wood after all.

  • Creo que no pego un ojo esta noche del miedo que me dio.

  • definitely the worst fighting choreography in a movie I've ever seen.

    Got Wood?

  • Wow, the tree is a real ladies man, isn't he!..... arggg arrrgggg

  • I thought this was kinda cool, they kill this guy but then he comes back as a killer tree to get even. I don't remember the end, how do they kill the monster from hell?

  • @whiskeyify They don't. The monster escapes into the jungle, where he eventually succumbs to a bad case of root rot and Dutch Elm Disease...

Okay, not really. SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! Actually, they kill it by shooting the ceremonial dagger in his chest, thus driving it through his heart. He then falls into a lake and, I assume, eventually becomes the scariest piece of driftwood ever.

  • @BadMovieRealm I thought maybe they burned it. thx for the ans.

  • @BadMovieRealm

    Hahahahaha!

This movie just brings the smart-asses out!

    FROM HELL IT CAME!

AND FROM HELL IT NEEDS TO GO BACK!

  • I remember reading that the Tobonga suit had a tear going between the legs half way up the back.

They tried to hide the tear by not showing the lower half of the costume but in some scenes you can see it clearly.

  • And she was so beautiful too.

    Damn that Fruit Tree!

  • as a kid, this was my favourite movie. I must have seen it 30 times back then.

  • Didn't Mystery Science Theater 3000 preview this movie?

  • @Catnip11147 It was never featured in an episode, if that's what you are asking. I believe it was Mary Jo Pehl (who played Pearl Forrester) that mentioned this film as one that they would have loved to have done. They did screen it, but for some reason or another they were never able to secure the rights. A shame really, as this would likely have been an absolutely hilarious episode. It's a very watchable movie and delightfully goofy all by itself; The perfect film for MST3K.

  • I love it how the girl, after being dumped in the quicksand, pushes herself farther out into the bog!

  • What is surprising is watching the girl go under, a rarety in films of that era.

  • Have not seen this movie since the mid 70's. Seeing the tree makes me think H.R. Puff N Stuff should come walking through the scene. Great video would love to see it again.

  • This movie would seem pretty epic...

    Epicly epic fail, that is.

My god. It's more unintentionally humourous/laughable than anything.

  • Oh my god... XD

  • I liked when the monster would kill people by squashing them against other trees. Can't wait for the remake. They need to have a bunch of Filipinos with chain saws going after the monster. K-Fed as the tree monster.

  • que barbaro!!! increible...

    que malo que es!

  • I saw this with my brother when I was only 4 and we never forgot this thing! Love this stuff!

  • my worst nightmare

  • This classic flick of yesteryear is mentioned in the Medved brother's classic 70's book "The Golden Turkey Awards". They wrote that after this opus was released, a critic gave it this review: "AND TO HELL IT CAN GO!" Though this was a fun clip to watch. THANKS for sharing it! :)

  • My one complaint? A catfight in which neither girl loses any clothing...hell, even their hair and makeup stay intact!

  • @rozz6398 Keep in mind, This was the 50's. Any clothes came off and Sen. Joe McCarthy would have shut them down and blacklisted everyone tied to this film. I would have prefered that they roll around on the ground a bit. Both ladies had nice bodies and legs and were ok looking.

  • This movie still takes my breath away. What is the tee? Most of todays movies bore me!

  • Cool der Baumgart

  • As a child, I was terrified by this movie. It haunted me. Seems so silly now, lol.

  • A very Zen tree - not one ounch of emotion about killing that girl!

  • @palatinesouth its a tree it cant show emotion cause it held is face in one way for years and now it cant go back. it also is thinking what the hell is that thing doing.

  • "Trouble in paradise" as residents of a South Seas island are terrorized by a tree-like zombie.

  • this movie looks awsome!!

    they gotta remake this!

  • Jack Nicholson can play the tree

  • This movie terrified me as a child! Imagine!

  • This movie desperately needs to be on DVD, preferably with the Criterion Collection.

  • I could not agree more, my friend.

  • @ardashir51 WBSHOP has this on dvd for 19 bucks.

  • @supermandisco Thanks, though it feels odd to spend more for the DVD than it cost to actually make the film.

  • madmovierealm thanks but trust me compared to the gore blood sex, filth in todays horror movies ill take FROM HELL IT CAME & other 50s minor classics any day. youre right tabonga cant outrun anyone neither can THE MUMMY etc. enjoy this film as it is. no academy award winners but each film made millions gave us shutters etc. i lived thru those years. this film is very good desite flaws. thanks and lets see more gems like this. this horror film historian likes what he sees. TOMKES

  • You people just don't know how terrifying it was watching that woman go under for a five year old. I was crying for days after I saw it. Couldn't finish the film after that. Even now there's still a twinge of irrational fear watching that scene so many years later.

  • @Clarkthek Wow,I can certainly understand that! You must've been traumatized!

  • lol when i was 3 i saw a guy get ripped apart by Zombies and at night i was so scared I couldnt even move

  • It is a very effective scene, definitely the most memorable in this movie. Wasn't the TO-BONG-A burned prior to this? There was no explanation as to WHY OR HOW our blockheaded buddy survived that. The Tobonga, a presumably ideal fireplace log, by all accounts he should have been charred from being pushed into a pit of fire. But no, Tobonga strong. He survive firecave and live on, to dunk Polynesian gal into the quicksand. Fierce stuff as she goes under, no doubt about it.

  • Hey fans there this is TomKes horror film historian and i can tell you this FROM HELL IT CAME is a great film. not bad at all. it still packs a wallop. Darn good actor Chester Hayes played him. this was strong stuff in 1957. it still has power and built in fear terror of a walking tree monster. ive seen tons far worse. ill take this film anytime. its a classic in its own right. thanks. TOMKES a man who knows his horror films of a bygone era

  • Thanks for your input Tom!

While I must agree with you on your point that this is far from the worse film of all time; this is still unquestionably a terrible film by almost every measure. Stiff acting, poor dialog, unforgivably slow pacing, etc.

Not to mention the fact that you could leopard crawl away and still easily outrun the monster.

The saving grace is definitely the Paul Blaisdell designed, Tabonga. Even if his design was used without him receiving any compensation or credit.

  • i think I saw a similar monster on Doctor Who once. Maybe it's the same actor, after his career failed to take root. (ha ha get it?)

  • Maybe he was trying to get his career to branch out.

  • Alright, that's enough you guys. I guess it was too much to ask for everyone to "leaf" the tree puns alone. Seriously, they are just "knot" very funny.

And don't tell me that you were just trying to be "poplar" because I don't wanna hear it.

Wow, even I wanna slap myself in the back of the head after that.

  • Maybe you're not laughing but you've got to be at least smiling. Ain't nothin' shakin' but the leaves on the tree (stump).

This movie invites such comments. It's one of the dumbest movies of all time but also one of the most enjoyable pieces of schlock that ever came out of the cinematic jungle. There has never been another movie monster quite like the Tobonga.

  • Another reason why this movie is so good/bad is that the lead actor, Tod Andrews, is one of the dullest actors ever. He mumbles his lines and shows no emotion whatsoever. Even the Tobonga has more personality than Andrews.

  • I don't know how people can say this is a bad movie; it's a fun watch, totally stupid, and thoroughly entertaining.

  • You've heard the term "As bright as a tree stump" I wonder if there's a bird nest up there!

  • I wish I were a stump like the Tobonga for a day. I know a female I'd like to toss in the quicksand.

  • this is the best scene in the movie.

  • So the worst thing he can do to you is throw you in the quicksand?

  • Yes. Then you have to intentionally swim away from the shore and drown yourself.

    Terrifying, no?

  • Well, supposedly the quicksand is sucking her under, but, yes, on second glance, it does look like she's pushing her way into the muck. Bad luck.

  • Just goes to show good acting should never be taken for granted.

  • They should have used Tabonga repellent.

  • whoah! Poor Treebeard has not aged well!

  • They call that a chic fight? At least have the descency to oil up!

  • Just call him Knothead

  • Knothead is good too. I truly love this movie. It is a classic of its type, but then again, there never was another tree stump movie to compare this to.

  • she's asking for help from a tree stump. Those are some big feet!

  • Yes, she pleaded with the Tobonga to save her, but alas, the tree stump did not heed the call.

  • Just love a cat fight There's a good one in the head that wouldn.'t die. That stupid tree stump can't even run and it still catches people!

  • Don't call the Tobanga stupid; it might toss YOU into the quicksand, so watch it, bub.

  • If I crawled on my stomach I could still outrun it! LOL

  • Yes, but you must admit, the Tobonga walks quite well. Just call him Wooden Head.

  • Check out those tree stump feet when he falls over!

  • @fiddlerpin I totally agree. That's the only reason I'm watching this clip. I like the skimpy outfits they were wearing. Two island girls going at it. What more could you want? Even in the 1950's, this was probably risque.

  • @vxy357 Yea and check out Yvette Vickers who recently passed away in the Attack of the 50 ft woman. What an ass the old gal had in her day.
