Letting your hand hang loose towards the ground is another great way...just to get the blood flowing! Oh and don't forget to breath correctly and be relaxed at all times. Use technique, not strength :)
I don't know that I've ever actually gotten a cramp or anything that has made me want to stop playing in 9 years of playing but that first thumb stretch you did felt good lol.
Jen! I wanted to submit a request to learn how to play 7 Minutes In Heaven by Fall Out Boy. It's a really great song and all the available tabs are terrible. I was wondering if you could tab it and upload a video? I think it would be really popular, well it would be with me anyway! I'm sure this isn't the appropriate place to submit a request but I can't find where I am supposed to! Much love, Rachel
If you're playing six strings for a bar chord I highly recommend using as many fingers as possible on the fretboard. That's been the best change for me.
Im a drummer, and i basically have the same problems. If I play to much i get cramps. anyway to help that?
Thanks,
David

I hate getting bar chord cramps. It always happens when I'm playing Green Day songs. You know, cause they're all power chords.

First! And good guide. It's one of the little things you don't usually hear about until it hurts.
