i love it how some weekend worriors dump so much money into dressing up their rifles and dont need even half that shit. you take an 8pound rifle that really only NEEDS a good optic system, sling, sloid but stock and maybe some high quality internals, ie: bult carrier group and now you have a 15pound set up. totally not needed and a waist of money. decked out rifle doesnt make you shoot any better. never understood that, simple/light and just run it!

@cubs1908wsc I suppose you can't go wrong with a custom built machine, but did you have any issues with the Stag? I just wonder because I've owned mine for a while now, many thousand rounds through her.. Been in the rain, the sand, etc and never had an issue. Properly staked gas key, chromed barrel, MPI'd BCG.. Functions flawlessly IMO, esp compared to other similarly priced AR's.

@blair91234 I no longer use the magnifier, I had to trim the fat. I would suggest looking into a Trijicon accupoint tr24, but then again it almost equals to an aimpoint m2 & magnifier in regards to price.

I'm curious, could you tell me why you have 2 scopes on it? Do you slip the forward one off the rail if you want less magnification or something? I'm a novice so please dont misconstrue my questions as anything other than me being completely uninformed :P

Lastly I was wondering why I found a couple of AR-15's on here had a single scope, but mounted really, really far forwards on the rail! Why would they benefit from such a thing? It seems like the ergonomics are poor with their position choice.

@Furicist The one on the back is a magnifier...typically there is a flip-to-side mount in which you can quickly put to use the magnifier for the you sight in front.

@TheDarknightman66 It was heavy, I trim the fat since then...took out the check riser, magnifier, install a larue free float, wilson combat flip gas block. I like the Aimpoint but it's heavy with the mount, planning to replace it with a c-more reflex. Good luck on your build.

You need a BCM gunfighter charging handle, and replace the Stag factory bolt with a mil-spec bolt from BCM. Other than that its good to go.

It's a larue tactica offset mount lt-606. But if youre planing to install a bi-pod, i would suggest getting an Larue inline mount lt-707.

This is not a PEQ, it's just an Inline tactical aiming laser. an/peq-15a is the PEQ model for LaserDevice. PEQ are so expensive and I don't think I could even get one because it's MIL spec.

Thanks! I like the troy forearms durable and reasonably priced. I've tried other optics mounts and ended up a getting a larue. If you not planing to get a magnifier, try to get a larue lt-150 for your aimpoint.

Yes it is a 2 piece quad rail. It's a good tactical rail, happy with it and very affordable compare to DanielD or Larue.

You can get it from any Stag Arms dealer, assuming that you have a FOID card and FFL dealer to ship it to if your buying from another state. Nothing was done internally on this rifle, still simi-auto and as for the external upgrades, you can buy it anywhere.

You need a Gun License (FOID Card) for any firearm purchase in any states. Depending on your state laws, Illinois cost $10 for 10 years and will run a background check for FOID application and firearm purchase. Even if you don't get a firearm it woudl not hurt having a gun license.
