  • Sounds like your rods are knocking

  • "its a 4 cylinder engine" *FACEPALM!* If you don't know that much about motors you shouldn't have bought a sports car.

  • @madjimms

hey asshole, try to be nice on your comments! the guy is just asking for some advice. just go and try to blow job your own pencil size p...s!

  • @pagong4 Comments are meant for commenting.... Not just saying "oh everything is lovely, lalala" Ever heard of constructive criticism?

  • I had the same noise, and took the engine apart, the valves and the bearings were bad as a result. If you open your oil pan you will probably find some smaller metal shavings in the bottom. I had to buy a new engine, or spend about the same on fixing the old one.

  • fill it up with oil the leaked oil made the reservoir low so the pickup isnt getting enough oil to the head so its ticking like that

  • well, despite the rod bearing noise, the engine looks ok while idling, the compression appears to be just by that fact but without revving i cant tell for sure tho...a bad engine wont even idle like that.....

  • honda :/

  • You've probably spun some bearings.

The repair will never be cheap.

  • Hi Have you found what the problem was

  • thats what happens when you dont check the oil you just spun a rod bearing

  • just sleeve it bro youll be aight

  • fuck i have the exact same noise, drove the car for around 3 months without oil and not recognising

    but goes and comes

  • i had same problem bro. its a piston slap. sorry to say new motor.

  • sounds like a rod knock dude, first thing i'd do is drop the oil pan, and check the rod bearings, you might get lucky, and just have to replace the bearings. but if it is from the top like you say it sounds like, it could be in the rocker to cam clearance, either way you will need to tare down to inspect. it is worth rebuilding

  • its seized:( the motor was starved when the oil leaked and now its knocking it needs to be replaced sorry.

  • Hey. I have a s2k ap1, I'm also a automotive tech. Been a auto tech for almost 10 years and I build motors at my shop. And from what I hear or from what I know. That mite be rod knock. Like bearings took a shit. You mite not have to rebuild the whole motor but swap out the bearings.

  • Wow that engine looks like it's been abused, even physically, what the heck is wrong with people.

  • man... God its a big problem all i know

    it's gona cost you

  • Heh, your problem when running low on oil might be your bearings on the crank thats shot.

In any case, you need to rebuild.

  • this sound is from another engine, not hondas

  • i will go get another engine! dont even bother fixing it

  • the head may be warped,

  • Engine seized. You have to rebuild the engine.
