  • cooool.

  • I recognise that Board. Is that rgb controller made by BIG CLIVE?

  • cool man , nice skill..

  • doidera

  • Hi. Very cool. Very cool. What is a PBS cube and where can i get one. Like the vid. Paul

  • I'm going to make one using a ps3 sled. It bothers me that the green laser has to be so big. Is there somewhere where can I can buy the optics? I don't want to spend 50 dollars on a ps3 laser assembly

  • Heh I think I have one of those cubes from an old DVD Burner :D

  • Great vid but where did you get the heatsinks pleaaase reply

  • @BCQD4 Custom made.

  • This is Incredible... Truly... What material is the PSB cube made from? Also, Do you know of any materials That actually Filter, Change the Wavelength of laser light? I Found that Bakolite 'sp', That Primitive white plastic, Filters Red from Violet leaving a decent 460nm blue.. strange. Great Stuff!! Thanks.

  • whata trip that is

  • Cozy Asy!

  • Amazing.

  • where'd you get those huge cylinder heatsinks?

  • your neighbors must be jealous during Christmas.

  • which glasses should you use for this?

  • Forssa on asiaa!

  • @Kranaika What the what?

  • Comment removed

  • @Forssa1 ''Forssa on asiaa!'' its finland :D

  • you really did need some draft punk backing music for this vid

  • The force is strong with you. Is the blue beam simply a laser or are you using plasma?

  • Hey that is Sooo coool, can u send me instructions on how to make it please

  • Hey that us realy cool can u send me some instructions on how to make it please

  • hey man can u send me some instructions i love this vid share the science man we need more smart people i dont like dumbass's and im sure you dont either

  • Wow dude, f'''ing awsome!!

First I was like :"Wow cool, 7color mix laser" , then you showed all the strobing effects and internal circuitry and I was like :"DOOD no way!!"

    I like! A lot!

  • nice!

  • Oh golly gosh that's cool!

  • I want to build some find of laser like that, but I don't know how :(

  • I'MA FIRIN' MAH LASOR!

  • why is the laser beam so visible. Did you use a fog machine or something?

  • *****The Best 5/5***** Świetnie wykonana praca czysty majster sztyk

  • GIVE IT TO ME!

  • thats what she said. lol

  • should of seen that comin

  • learn how to hold a camera and this vid would be perfect....cool lasers

  • freaking awsome

  • IMA FIRIN' MA LAZAS!!!

  • This meme is probably older than you...

  • i'm 13, i don't think so

  • light saber ftw! haha

  • wow awsome !!!!!!!!!

  • orales esta chido

  • Cool!! Where did you get all these stuff?

  • Neat!

Good thing I never throw anything away.. still have a bunch of these kind of optics from my ghetto laser mods.. Never thought the little splitter blocks etc. could actually be of any practical use!

Got any advice on which optics are usable?

  • All of the optics are useful depending on what you want to do. Which drives are they from, and what do you wish to do?

  • I have serveral. Some are from a Dvd burning sled (cube = beam combiner?) And I also have 2 intact blu ray sleds from a ps3..

thinking of creating the same setup as you, but fine-adjusting the optics must be a bitch!

  • Ok good, just the things you need. If you look at 17 seconds into the video you see how to place your optics. It says "phr-turning mirror", but the ps3-sled has one like it too, only a little less efficient. One important things about the cubes: they are polarized, so the axis of the laser beam need to either horizontal or vertical to work. You might have to read up a little more on the Internet about polarised beam splitter cubes.

  • Hmm, at 17 seconds, it shows the combined beam splitting again.. How would I go about using the optics to combine the beams first?

I get the polarising effect, 45 degrees or 90 degrees, right?

So if I understand correctly, the cube from the PS3 sled (PHR-803T) I can use to combine red and violet, and then use the Dichromatic mirror to add in green?

that cube from the ps3 sled is tiny btw!

  • PS3 sled and PHR-803T sled are two completely different sleds, which one do you have? true, the beams are at 90 degree angle, but I'm talking about the angle of the light-waves themselves leaving the diode, called polarisation. Look that up on the Internet to get a better idea, it is very important to get it working.

  • - Basically you have to rotate or 'turn' the diode along the beam axis until the light either gets reflected out off one side of the cube, or get transmitted through the cube, and don't end up somewhere in between.

  • different sleds... that explains my confusion.

    I have 2 PHR-803T sleds!

thought those came from a ps3, but I seem to be wrong :)

I played around with it a bit, and I get what you mean... just a slightly varied angle of input gives a bit shift at the output..

But are the parts from the PHR sled still usable for this application?

  • Those are even better. If you look in the video inside the laser itself, I used the optics from the phr-803t sled only .

  • hmm, nice

so I understand about using the TINY cuby for combining red and violet.. But what part do you use to add the green?

Would that be the big piece with 1 sloped side?

  • Yup, just like in the video with the larger face reflecting the red and violet.

  • allright!

going to try and fix it up tomorrow, will let you know how it works out :)

Just dont have the materials to make such a fancy setup as you... will be a lot more basic ^^

  • Yeah there are no rules, good luck!

  • What kind of fog/smoke do you use?

  • I just burnt some stuff.

  • Heh, ok :P I burn rosin with soldering iron. Check my recent video! :D

  • Yeah I saw that on LPF, very nice ;)

  • this is teh sex

  • Wow. That looks amazing! Is the beam whiter in person?

Who says you need galvos to make a good laser show. All you need is some nice optics!

  • The red is more dominant in real life but it has a switch (bottom left) that lower the output to a nice white.

  • i just realized that you can actually make digital trasaction between diferent spectrum, makin each color a channel.

You could easily make a small device integrate well and there you go, Digital laser information emiter. With a proper resiver you could comunicate between places with a laser beam. The uses could be only on your imagination. With a proper error correection on trasaction you could easyliy make a really good product. You need software engeniering as well.

    Good luck.!!
