all of u guys saying you want an african grey, think of this.. your free time is limited, it is VERY hard work to takr care of a parrot... just imagine having a 2 year old kid that never grows up for 80 YEARS!!! i have had an african grey for about 6 months now, there are very cool and intelligent creaters but they are VERY hard work. im not trying to save you from these birds, im trying to save theese birds from you! i apreaciate you reading my comment, please like this so everyone knows what

I know u wouldnt of course, but please never leave birdies alone. I know they are friends but have seen where one bird attacked his bud & owner didnt know why. He left them for 3mins thinking they were ok bc they had been for 10yrs. The one lost both legs/most of its beak. Although it was saved. My sis is a vet & tells me stories. Ur birds are very cute tho, just dont want people to think its ok to leave them unsupervised for even a min while u go to the b/r. Thanks. I know u supervise urs.

I wasn't juding anyone.  My only concern was for the birds. Most people do know their birds but you would be surprised at how many people do not know anything or put their birds in unsafe conditions. Forgive me for just caring for the birds.

No bird should be playing with pen or pencil. The lead in pencils can be toxic as well as the ink in a pen. I would take the ink section of the pen out and give the bird back the out pen compartment.

@crazyanimal led in pencils are actually graphite, not led, therefore it is not toxic. Ink can be harmfull though. Dont judge people on how they let their pets behave, obviously if the birds had a habit of nibling the ballpoint end of the pen she most likely would keep pens away from them. You have to realize owners know their own pets better than you do.

@crazyanimal Pencils don't use lead. They use graphite. But a pen could possible be a problem if the bird managed to puncture through the plastic into the ink. 2 layers of plastic shouldn't be a problem unless the bird was actually trying to snap it in half. But the owner was clearly watching them both so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

The girls really love each other. If Sophie's in time out (she gets in trouble far more often than Athie!) Athie will mosey into the office and onto Sophie's cage to hang out with her!

We got Athie as a 4 month old when Sophie was almost a year, so they have very much been raised together... although they definitely have their days when they'd rather be Only Parrots. ;)
