Haha yeah, I used to be a really big Sonic fan. To be honest I haven't played electric guitar in months - ever since I discovered acoustic guitarists like Antoine Dufour and Andy McKee, that's all I've been playing. Lately I've picked up piano again though - and I'm jumping right to some hard stuff too. I'll be sure to let you know when I get a new piano video up, but I think it'll be a while before I do!

I didn't dedicate three and a half years to learning guitar (mostly self taught) to have someone who's probably never touched a guitar tell me it's fake. Clearly the audio in this video is different from the original song. That is because I am playing over the original song - you hear my guitar and the original song. If this is fake, where the hell is the sound of my guitar coming from?

It Doesn't Matter is definitely easier (and slower) than Open Your Heart. Have you given It Doesn't Matter a try using my tabs? How do you like them? I know the part around 50 seconds in my video isn't completely right, but I think the rest of the tab is pretty accurate.

This is the Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR (diamond series). And yeah, Schecter is pretty great. Lately I've been interested in custom ordering a Carvin though, that'll probably be my next guitar. As for G and L, I've never played one... not such a fan of Fender anymore anyway, haha.

Here's a fact that you probably didnt know

the person that made shecters worked for fender... so the design of your modern day shecter guitar is a descendent and relative of fender guitars... look into it sometime.

I just feel like when you buy one of them, you're buying the name brand rather than the guitar. I believe you can get guitars just as good for much cheaper from other manufacturers.

Yeah, I actually went through a lot of trouble to find a dreamcast that sitll worked after Sega dropped out of the hardware business. I bought it just for Sonic Adventure, and ironically I think less than a year later Sonic Adventure DX for the gamecube was announced.

I still love it. Even though I got into it way later than everyone else, after they stopped making games for it.

Pretty cool. This song is one of may favorites, especially i like it's chorus and pre-chorus. I think you know that pre-chorus has a little more complicated playing than there's in your video)) But you were good at playing chorus itself))

You're absolutely right, the pre-chorus is more complicated than I play it. I just can't figure out exactly waht's going on, so I do as much as I can. If you have any suggestions to improve, I'd love to hear it ;)

I did play the last chorus properly, by the way. The song changes key, moving up a whole step from C to D, and that's exactly how I played it.

Plugged straight into the computer, using software called Amplitube that I pirated a while ago. It does sound good, but the biggest problem is it gives off terrible noise, and I'm forced to turn the noise gate way up, which cuts on sustain. My artificial harmonics are especially awful because of the noise gate.

What kind of amp do you have?

I have a Vox Valvetronix amp and also use a boss MT-2 pedal. I'm not really happy with the amp, and probably want a better one somewhere down the line. The boss pedal certainly helps, but I haven't been using the amp because the pedal's battery's been dead.
