  • You're doing it wrong, you're supposed to use aireplay to fake the data packets, waiting for 20k packets can take hours, with aireplay you just need a couple of real packets and it will fake the rest. 20k packets -> 3min

  • @ThumbsUpCauseImRight Not really wrong, just using the most basic method. Aireplay generates traffic with various injection techniques like deauthentication and ARP injection. Packet injection involves more steps than I wanted in this basic tutorial. On a busy network, you can get 20k packets in 10-15 minutes. Injection works better for inactive networks. Maybe I should make an aireplay tutorial to go with this vid.

  • can you tell me, how did you config on the iwconfig pls tell me because that is only reason for me...

  • one more thing, I got backtrack to run on my usb and aircrack works fine, but when I put backtrack in vmware player and virtualbox it wont work. It doesnt either say I have a wireless card and I'm doing this on my laptop. When I type airmon-ng, zero devices show up. Can u have?

  • is aircrack already installed in backtrack? i dont have to install it to backtrack? and u do no if its include in with backtrack 4 also?

  • @azneagledog Yes it is in both versions. It is pre-installed and ready to go

  • when i write

    airmon-ng or airmon-ng start wifi0

    it write me

    interface chipset driver

    pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee help me

and i am using the acer laptop it have builtin wifi

  • where i can fine this program?

  • The thing now that it is very slow to get data packests now I had Linux backtrack 3 run for like 10 hours and itstill did not came to 1000 data packes do you know why? I run linux backtrack 3 on Vmware workstation with 512 ram.

  • @Chakchi34 I could be that the computer you were trying to hack was not doing anything on the internet

  • @crazypcdude will this work if someone is not using the computer? Or does someone have to be activly using the internet for this program to work? Or will it work with just a wireless router with internet signal and no one using the signal?

  • @IrishPuglover3565 The more traffic on the network, the easier this will be. It doesn't necessarily have to be a person using it. Automatic updates and downloads will generate a lot of traffic at times. Once you get the handshake, you will be generating most of the traffic yourself.

  • @crazypcdude Thanks for the replay I'm new to this hacking stuff but not to computers. When you get to the part that you enter airodump-ng wlan0 after that loads it gives you the network names right so you know what one you want to crack? It looks like in the video but cant see 100%? Lastly how can I find a list of Wireless cards that will work with back track4? I have a new shitty Acer netbook that I don't care about running windows 7 will it work? Looks like it's running a Atheros AR5B95 WNA.

  • nice XD , very simple. i love yours tutorials XD

  • cool thx! Nice video!

  • Does this only work with linux? Or can I use win7..

  • If you are going to learn how to hack, you most not fear linux. Use a virtual machine if you want to use Win7, but a linux distro is a must.

  • Are you using a laptop or desktop and what wireless card are you using. If the pwr is low can you boost it.

  • Have used both desktop and laptop . You can boost the power with a better antenna or make a cantenna (lots of videos out there). Mine was just a cheap usb wireless card with a better antenna attached.

  • Can you do this with Debian?

  • Yes, you can use any linux. Backtrack has just collected all of the tools collected for you into one package.

  • I find spoonwep a bit easier than all that nasty typing

  • nice vid
