I was picked on for years in high school, thanks to the show jackass I got into skateboarding which saved my life, saved me from doing somthing self destructive! I'm a parent and I stay in my kids business. I won't to know what goes on in their everyday lives because this world is so messed up. This is a prime example. These teachers and ALL faculty members are a joke. I can't count on ANYONE to have my children's back. Thats way dad here isn't afraid to ask questions, pry a little and even be called "annoying" ! Bullying stems from the same source as racism, picking on the weak and different. To end bullying we need to reach to the children at a young age teaching them acceptance of others, equality to all. Sadly their are public organizations that encourage negative thoughts on others while having the mask of caring and peace... Generally its towards gays, but other cultures feel the heat as well. Or schools could learn to care and be like my middle school, where I was interrogated for telling my friend I'd get him back after he won a playful scuffle. Even though it was extreme, it got the point across loud and clear.
I wouldn't go as far as blaming the whole school district, but they should have taken more precautionary steps. But there are plenty of options when being bullied, and phoebe prince should have educated herself at the least. Suiciding is a sin and how disappointing it is for the parents when they hear their child suicided...it was very selfish of Phoebe.

@bmarsiglio - It turns out librarian Rebecca Mazur lied...she's known to curry favor among the popular kids in SHHS (b/c she herself wasn't part of that crowd in HS), even going so far as to make Dunkin' Donuts runs for them...as for the rest of the administration (Smith, Sayer, Boiselle, etc.), they would've been happy just to sweep this whole tragedy under the rug, and you can bet that's what would've happened if this hadn't made the news.

Hold it! Hold it! did he just pass the blame onto students that he claims "knew this was going on!"? Does he think I was buying that statement that they were just standing around watching it! They are children that are assuming they are under the protection of the staff we pay to be there! HE MEANS HIS STAFF STOOD AROUND WATCHING IT! This guys needs to be fired immediately! yea, this has happened before, and nothing happened. Bullying will always exist, try teaching kids to grow some thick skin and deal with it. You report a kid bullying you in my high school, and the teacher wags the finger and the bullying gets worse.
Or schools could learn to care and be like my middle school, where I was interrogated for telling my friend I'd get him back after he won a playful scuffle. Even though it was extreme, it got the point across loud and clear.

I have seen many cases of bullying and usually the teachers are passively encouraging or at least not discouraging, the bullies.

I wouldn't go as far as blaming the whole school district, but they should have taken more precautionary steps. But there are plenty of options when being bullied, and phoebe prince should have educated herself at the least. Suiciding is a sin and how disappointing it is for the parents when they hear their child suicided...it was very selfish of Phoebe.

I agree that the school administration and staff failed Miss Prince, it's horribly sad. But the evil bullies usually do their devilish acts when teachers and other authority figures aren't paying attention, or absent, etc. But it really looks like the school staff was asleep at the wheel here.
I wouldn't be surprised if the bullies' "parents" also lack morals and devoid of any conscience.

@jwwindsor I agree he is crying from the heat of a frying pan. I hope her family get through this I couldn't imagine the pain, I also hope this is not just swept under the rug. We need stronger anti bullying laws for minors making this a criminal issue seems to hold more fear than leaving it up to the schools staff. The school gives them a detention keeping them on the grounds later where and when most bullying happens!

Move on? the girl died because YOUR faculty chose to constantly ignore those terrorists in school and turned the other cheek. The faculty all needed to be investigated and fired. We clearly have some monsters teaching classes with the false label of "teachers" asserted to them. Hold the faculty, principle, the parents of those terrorists and the terrorists all accountable. No one should get away easy after this incident.
