See the big round thing in the middle? It is a generator. The kite flies in a circle, dragging the arm is it attached to around, turning the generator and making power.
Is that even possible, at least I dont think the way the video shows is, how are they able to fly the kites upwind? The video allways shows the kites flying at the edge of the wind window, even when the thing is rotating.
It might be efficient in winds lower than 10 knots but at 13+ the wind turbine do have the advantage. But keep up the project, but I really believe there has a more efficient method other than this, when flying kites.
Plus I would guess that thing wastes a lot of power to handle such power from the kites. Not possible to handle them mechanically, there are too many factors involved when controlling kites, wind, gusts, limit of the kites wind range, they have to play with the sizes or maybe number of kites(wonder how?) in order to use that "efficiently"

This opens exciting career opportunity as kite train pilot. Maybe ten pilots per turbine working all day flying kites.

efficinecy of such turbines is about 30% of turbines with propeller.
