Når man ser optagelser som denne ærgrer man sig over at man ikke oplevede dette spændende band give den op på Loppen for et par måneder siden !!! Doh...
Every time I see these guys live it is bliss. They are a blessing from the great mystery of the universe. Vibrational Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac and Celexa.
One of the first things I noticed about Deerhoof when I brought my 1st hoof CD home, was how freaking great the drummer is. You don't need to have the "neal pert" set up to get a great sound. Pair it down to the bare bones and rock out! LOL, not even one floor-tom, and he destroys it! Good job.
i really get into Deerhoof. most of their tracks are solid grooves with amazing dynamics in them. like Saurencaerthai said exp. rock without all the things you hate about exp. rock. these pitchfork videos of them doing their tracks rock the house!!!
Their drummer does rock the hell out of that tiny set. I still don't know how to feel about this band, I love some of their songs and hate others, but they do play with a good deal of passion. And they're still doing something they love, I say kudos.
@Brotherkai Yeah, he's an amazing drummer. I love this band, but I'm not very keen on how the guitar follows the vocal melody. They're both high pitched and shrill, and when they're both playing the same exact notes it's very intense. I have a hard time getting people into this band, and I think that's a big reason why.
does drummer use double bass pedal? he's amazing

Ok the fill Greg Saunier does from 1:48 to 1:54 is just insanity. Listen to that on a loop and explain it to me musically. I dare you.

@anabnos Basically Greg spasms and rainbows fly out of his skins.

greg saunier is living proof that you dont need a massive kit to be a kickass drummer

ATerribleBeast 1 year ago
@ATerribleBeast
their albums are usually mastered very well and sound pretty 'live' imo

@Saurencaerthai Like experimentation?

@TheRealLordRama Funny thing to say, but I'd say they do experiment quite a bit.

upon review, Greg Saunier (the drummer) might be one of the greatest Ive seen in many moons.
