I can't believe I only heard of them like 3 years ago ... I haven't had the opportunity to see them live. Looking at this video, I know I've missed a lot, and I can't wait for their hiatus to end so they can release a new album which will be even better than Dear Science, and they will tour, and I will finally be able to see them. Perhaps the greatest song. Ever. I bought two tickets to a UK show before the second album. Didnt find anyone I wanted to go with at the time, so I went alone. This song bought a tear to the eye.

TVOTR are one of the last truely great bands to cross over into the mainstream. But this has had an effect on their music. Their 2nd album only had a couple of good songs. Mainly beat driven... I doubt theyll make a song like this or Dont love you again.

@mycarrion I've heard that merch is the biggest moneymaker. Mos Def must've been right when he says "Only 5% of profits ever see my pockets!" When you check cd duplicating comps. it sucks to see how little your band gets. The overhead on a big label is crazy. I wish I could start a record label thats non profit, except for the musicians. I have an idea to do guerilla style advertising like illegaly hanging banners over freeways or hiring Graff artists. I might be crazy though? haha.

Vinyl for the texture and CD' for convenience, Music like this is the reason I could never afford college, ha. TVOTR is about to bankrupt me. haha. Lou Reed' is one of my fave and the VU is sooo underrated as far as influencing modern art in my opinion just because they never had a #1 hit, but neither will TVOTR sadly.

@apachegunboys TVotR will probably not have a #1 hit, not because they are not amazing but because the songs that get on the charts are what the general public likes, and this is usually pop music. The general public haven't even heard of, let alone like, TVotR's music. But, to be honest with you, I prefer it like this ... this band is fantastic, and it irks me that people don't like the band, but at the same time I don't want to share them with the rest of the world, I want them all to myself.

I prefer this version to the a cappella one from Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. TVOTR is such a brilliant and skillful band. I honestly dont think I could name another band that can maintain their quality despite their diversity through the many genres they play in, which TVOTR always does. They're brilliant musicians, lyricists and always have great harmonies and melodies. I think that they're the greatest band of this decade and I'm hanging out for the next album.

Alot of musicians don't do it for the music, despite what they say. They do it for fame and girls and money and music is there path to those things, and we all suffer for it.
