wow gabriel is in star ocean 4 as well? I remember my first time fighting him in star ocean 3 that fucking electric attack was so annoying. Paralysis and 1 hit koes every player and I could never dodge it but now he is easy.
What difficulty is this? I had a lot more trouble my first time but I was level 110 on Universe, using Edge as an evasion tank and Faize as my offensive symbologist?

this boss is located at the "7 Star Dungeon", go to Tatroi Colosseum and went left. Move along the Floor until you reach a door with a white Seal. Open that seal with the Darkness Ring and enter.
I personally got very use to fighting him due to feather collecting. He has a total of 14 Million HP on his 3rd for (The longest and probably the hardest) However i was a Rush combo Junkie so defeating Ethereal and Gabby were quite easy for me.

I fought Gabriel with my characters at level 127 and he beat me...ON GODDAMN EASY! ;A; Luckily, I used some paralysis and thunder resistant equips and used Arumat's duplicate to copy the moonstone I found so I could make the Valiant Mail and Moonstone sword for Edge.
Had to use a fair amount of healing items but he wasn't TOO much of a pain in the ass. 8D ...Till I fought him again in his four winged state.
@Alucardworshipper four wing celeste is friggin impossible! i've got my team to level 200 and i still can't beat him :P so your not on your own mate :)
@AuraDud I was only level 178 and my other characters were only 137. I got cocky and paid for it, but still won! Though I dread to fight 6 wing Gabe! ...Something to keep in mind to give your characters lighting and paralyze resistant equips. Also, gather items to make powerful equips in Item creation. Also, look around the wandering dungeon for powerful weapons and armor you get at random from the chests and as many healing items as you can carry!
i just beat 2 wings normal with a party of 4 lv 105's, from reading the comments and ppl saying be at least lv 125 to stand a chance with him, i think i faired pretty good, heck i even had alot of res units left over, but indeed a challenging battle
@AuraDud i wudnt say all that ,, im using galaxy(normal) mode. it also depends who are you charaters, myuria and sarah are a given but the last 2 spots will matter greatly.
can anyone tell me if it is possible to fight monsters whose data i did not clear 100% like that of the wise lizardmen and dragon newts that when i clear the game or do i only get 1 chance per playthrough to clear the data of those monsters? Thx
I remember beating these guys in Star Ocean 3, Till the End of Time(?) when you had to fight Something Queen and this guy at the same time. Nuked them with Fayt's double-kick combo and laser weapons with synthesized +500 attack power on them til max, so at lvl 80 something (out of 255 I think) I was doing like 30k+ dmg per hit, with about 30-40 hit combos every few seconds. YEEEAAAAAHHHHHH.......
I went in there with some good stuff but died quited alot... its his Ball of Holy crap thats powerful.. and either kills your or puts you on red bar... My cousin was shocked that i beat it finally but called me a loser for almost reaching the lv cap of the game.... i was around 185 to beat his 3rd and final form
Ugh...am I the only one who stopped playing after beating this guy, going through the second optional dungeon, leaving, and realizing that it made you start over from the beginning every time you left? Freaking bullcrap. Not worth my time, at all.
he has the Japanese version they have anime portraits. which were taken out of the western version of the game. also getting mass gear to beat gabe isnt really bragging rights beating him undergeared is.

I'm glad the title was in English, otherwise I wouldn't have found it. All the text is pretty obvious to people who have played the game. Skill transcends language; it was a good video of a guy controlling 2 characters on and off....better than just spamming Meracle's blindside over and over again imo.
I took him out at that level too, and i found out that the best team to fight him is Meracle/Reimi/Sarah/Myuria, just blindside him with meracle and you won't have problems lol
the main problem i have with the synthisis and item creation in this game is the shear amount of maerials there r. and the amount of time it takes to farm enough materials to make anything good, can nearly double ur play time of the game up untill that point. not to mention u have to travel all accross the gallaxy to obtain specific materials which just adds yet more time. and after all this u can only make a few things cus u can only carry 20 of anything at a time.
thats if u can even get 20 of the more rare materials, which can be mind numbing to obtain. and after all this effort to make something usefull ull still probably have to augment it. and u can go into a whole other field of costomization if u research it enough (like overflow tricks and such).synthing is realy only accessable after-game to be worth the effort. in one way its good that it has so much depth and freedom to experiment. but they couldve made it so much more efficient/accessable
im up to the gabriel celeste fight at lvl 109-125 i got whipped naturaly. its the first time in this entire game ive been seriously outclassed. in my ignorance i thought i had some of the best equipment at that point in the game. but after a humiliating 15 minutes of spamming fresh sages and resurection elixers, i was forced to take a deeper look into item creation/synthing. and now im just feeling a little overwhelmed at how to go about making some good equipment

you can synth by going back to the ship, de-equipping the stuff you want to synth and activating the thing where you invent recipies. At the bottom of the "create" option should b a "synthesis" option where you can synth. I dont think you would need to though, i beat him about lvls 75. When your rush guage is full in the battle, hit RT/LT at the xact same time as X and you shld do +150,000 damage. Gd luck he has about 2,000,000 hp XD
do u know how to make laser weapons if i synth my potent atk seefs i will lose them forever and will get other weapons too so what are the laser weapons are they bettew than the ones i have now? if they are where do i get them?
Mate you need a healer, Sarah is the best. Um iv only got the laser sword, its beast you get it from the "Gem of Might" thing in the Sanctum on EN2 after an easy battle, not sure wether you have the beat the game or not to get it though. It took me about 20 mins spamming rush combos before he died
well i beat the apostle barachiel sahariel kokabiel and satanail without any healers so i proved tyhat if u go only with edge reimi meracle and arumat u can stll win
Technically you can beat him with Meracle without taking any damage at all with blind sides over and over. So yes its possible, but is it worth your time? You're so low a level that I doubt you could beat the bosses before him, and even if you get to him, it would probably take you more time to kill him once than it would take you to get to 150+.
Don't worry so much, you will get a fuck ton of levels, I got like 100 before i got to him easily, just by fighting random battles + bosses
it depends on alot of factors, he can't be knocked down or anything, it depends on your armor and how it's synthesized, how much health they have, and how much damage the can pull. Blindsiding this guy is a key factor in the battle, Meracle seems to be invincible during her blindsides , but overall 70's is a really really difficult level to beat him on, it would be hugely difficult to face Wrathful Tamiel at 70's, i would say 130+ would be key, which is pretty easy to obtain in this dungeon
well to both Mcegan69 and Posidean. i thank you for your help. though i did beath Tamiel at in the mid 70's close to 80. but after my post i now have most of my party in the 100's due to fighting in the Seven Star Dungeon. even still he is one tough bastard. cant wait for Ethereal Queen
its hard to get to gabby without being a high lvl the guys u fight in the cave of seven stars are pretty hard it took me a while to beat the gust wasps u should just avoid them all together and also the treants fight the bone soldier or what evr their called but yea fight them until u get to like 90 or 100 to fight the gust wasps but by that time u should be on floor 3 but when get to floor 4 fight the treants cuz they give u alot of xp and their alot easier then do th metl scumbag levling
My main battle team is Edge, Reimi, Myuria, and Arumat. All of them are 142+ and i somehow managed to beat him but my power cord came loose and didn't save. Now i can't beat him =(. any suggestions?
I just tried gabriel for the first time tonight with a party of round level 140... was totally pwned. afterwards, i went back to the calnus and made some weapons from the moonstones that i duplicated. got the moonstone sword for edge, photon cannon for bacchus and the quadratic (?) scythe for arumat. just need to find a symbol booster to get myuria a better staff... then level some more! man this guy's tough.
I beat this guy using Meracle solo at level 104. Kept blindsiding and using X-Claw. He was tough as hell and killed rest of my party in seconds (with 80,000hp each thats kinda scary...)

I beat this guy at level 96, i had to play as sarah through half the battle tho... only sarah and edge were alive at the end of it... (Reimi Kicks ASS by the way)
NOW THIS WAS ONE HELL OF A FIGHT and i was 160 or so when i killed him... His 3rd Form is by far the worst but FUN he will HAMMER YOU DOWN because his damage and Def and He is faster and uses that Lighting Ball attack sonner than the first time
BUT Gabe is more funner than Queen.... because i absolutly hate Super Nova.... I fight her and lost... She went after Sarah alot...
Make sure youre at least 100 before you go into the cave of the seven stars. thats what i found to be easiest. just level up in the palace of creation and the other areas. build up exp boost tiles(the blue ones) fighting Forsaken Beasts help alot. they give you about 72,000 exp when you fight one. and if you get in an ambush, you can get 20% more exp. just keep at it, and you will level up in no time
Beat him about 2 days ago. That's exactly what I did. Thank you though. Just tried the WD and got my ass handed to me on Floor 10 by Armaros Manifest II T_T. I looked it up after dying though and apparently high leveled meracle+drill spike = Win on him. So back to getting all that monster data then power leveling in WD for hours on end... -_-.
this dude is ez s fuck, blindside his ass with meracle and spam xclaw as the rest of the team attack, , you will be able to jugle him for a good, 3-5 mins, as blindside ignores the "no guard"skill, i think you can do the same with the ethereal bitch, but imnot sure
this battle brings back memories of valkeryie profile lenneth and silmeria gabby was easy but the queen mainly a pain since all of the damage she does... in SO4 i already have a weapon i need for one of her feathers for creation XP gonna be so much fun...
I Beat Gabby Ceste at level 125, with the team of Edge, Arumat, Reimi, and Lymle. I stocked up on resurrection supplies[[i.e: resurrection units/elixirs]] and whenever lymle wasnt able to heal and there were two dead, i just threw out a Rezz unit, and then cast Faerie healing. Gabby wasnt hard at all, just took patience. Havent got to E.Q yet. Havent tried. im going to go through and get other achievements during my play on universe, and the beat Chaos, then just do it on my galaxy level account
My group is Arumat (dumb choice for Gabe, I know), Reimi, Bacchus. and Sarah. They're all lvl 160ish and my first attempt was fail. Should i turn off Sarah's non healing symbols? Was it just because I didn't stock up on resurrection units? Should i get 'em higher? should i synthesis more of my gear? Do i just suck? Tips please?
I got all the Special Gear and Weapons and all chars Maxed level, It took awhile to get 50% battle rewards for Sarah, Arumat ,Edge, and Meracle. those the ones I used.

Dude, I was feeling the same way I was like lvl 131 with edge and my other party members (Arumat, Myuria, Sarah) and holy fuck it was hard I have no idea how I did it I just kept using rush combos but now it makes me scared to even fight EQ :(
Gabriel is very easy compared to Iseria/Ethereal Queen. I beat Gabriel without too much trouble around Lvl 150, but when I fought EQ everyone was Lvl 200 and it took me almost an hour because I was constantly rezzing people.
I think Lvl 131 is probably a little too low for Gabriel though. Just use the Metal Scumbag trick and you can have everyone up to 200 in less than an hour. I'm working on getting my characters up to 255 now for my second attempt on EQ.
Hey just outta curiosity... i've leveled up all my characters to 200 (too lazy at the moment to get their battle trophies). Here's my build Edge-238, Sarah-200, Arumat-200/Meracle-151. I used Meracle to start instead of Arumat and only switched Meracle out if I needed to revive teammates and such. So with these characters I took on 6 winged gabe rather easily, i've heard 6 winged gabe is pretty similar to EQ so should I take her on? Or should I continue leveling Meracle and getting BT's?
Personally, I think even 6 Winged Gabriel is easier than 2 Winged Ethereal Queen. While the damage they deal might be about the same, the problem is that with Supernova, Ethereal Queen kills off more people at one time than Gabriel. It's up to you - I beat her at level 200, but it was very hard.
Edge-255/Meracle-200/Myuria-200/Sarah-200/ then my backups Arumat and Bacchus. Arumats at 200 but Bacchus is only 140 or so but anyways.
I can't even afford many of the new equipments i tried the Scumbag stealing money trick but they don't even attack me and run away :l any ideas?
And I don't have a problem fighting the bosses but it's just the god damn geostone parts of the dungeon I always leave and come back but theres always atleast one any ideas?
and everyone else was about the same relatively weak, and I walked into the room and there was the Ethereal Queen I kind of panicked but i'm happy I beat her on the first try :D

Well considering that the Grigori give you 30% when you kill them, i am assuming that data carries over as those are one-time-only battles.

I took him out at that level too, and i found out that the best team to fight him is Meracle/Reimi/Sarah/Myuria, just blindside him with meracle and you won't have problems lol

the main problem i have with the synthisis and item creation in this game is the shear amount of maerials there r. and the amount of time it takes to farm enough materials to make anything good, can nearly double ur play time of the game up untill that point. not to mention u have to travel all accross the gallaxy to obtain specific materials which just adds yet more time. and after all this u can only make a few things cus u can only carry 20 of anything at a time.

thats if u can even get 20 of the more rare materials, which can be mind numbing to obtain. and after all this effort to make something usefull ull still probably have to augment it. and u can go into a whole other field of costomization if u research it enough (like overflow tricks and such).synthing is realy only accessable after-game to be worth the effort. in one way its good that it has so much depth and freedom to experiment. but they couldve made it so much more efficient/accessable

im up to the gabriel celeste fight at lvl 109-125 i got whipped naturaly. its the first time in this entire game ive been seriously outclassed. in my ignorance i thought i had some of the best equipment at that point in the game. but after a humiliating 15 minutes of spamming fresh sages and resurection elixers, i was forced to take a deeper look into item creation/synthing. and now im just feeling a little overwhelmed at how to go about making some good equipment

i just cant figure out why its giving me such a hard time? rpg/strategy games r my specialty. i completely dominated star ocean 3 in every aspect... but its taking me awhile to rap my head around this games specs.... star ocean 3 was so much easier to come up with great/diferent strategys. it was like a giant puzzle. this game just seems so much more messier.... but i guess i cant blame the game when other ppl can do it. guess i just wanna know if anyone else has the same probs with this game...

you can synth by going back to the ship, de-equipping the stuff you want to synth and activating the thing where you invent recipies. At the bottom of the "create" option should b a "synthesis" option where you can synth. I dont think you would need to though, i beat him about lvls 75. When your rush guage is full in the battle, hit RT/LT at the xact same time as X and you shld do +150,000 damage. Gd luck he has about 2,000,000 hp XD

Mate you need a healer, Sarah is the best. Um iv only got the laser sword, its beast you get it from the "Gem of Might" thing in the Sanctum on EN2 after an easy battle, not sure wether you have the beat the game or not to get it though. It took me about 20 mins spamming rush combos before he died

i beat gab at lvl 130 with meracle lvl 130, arumat lvl 128, sarah lvl 129, myuria lvl 92. took about 20 minutes and i abused x-claw and rush combos

Technically you can beat him with Meracle without taking any damage at all with blind sides over and over. So yes its possible, but is it worth your time? You're so low a level that I doubt you could beat the bosses before him, and even if you get to him, it would probably take you more time to kill him once than it would take you to get to 150+.
Don't worry so much, you will get a fuck ton of levels, I got like 100 before i got to him easily, just by fighting random battles + bosses

it depends on alot of factors, he can't be knocked down or anything, it depends on your armor and how it's synthesized, how much health they have, and how much damage the can pull. Blindsiding this guy is a key factor in the battle, Meracle seems to be invincible during her blindsides , but overall 70's is a really really difficult level to beat him on, it would be hugely difficult to face Wrathful Tamiel at 70's, i would say 130+ would be key, which is pretty easy to obtain in this dungeon

its hard to get to gabby without being a high lvl the guys u fight in the cave of seven stars are pretty hard it took me a while to beat the gust wasps u should just avoid them all together and also the treants fight the bone soldier or what evr their called but yea fight them until u get to like 90 or 100 to fight the gust wasps but by that time u should be on floor 3 but when get to floor 4 fight the treants cuz they give u alot of xp and their alot easier then do th metl scumbag levling

My main battle team is Edge, Reimi, Myuria, and Arumat. All of them are 142+ and i somehow managed to beat him but my power cord came loose and didn't save. Now i can't beat him =(. any suggestions?

I just tried gabriel for the first time tonight with a party of round level 140... was totally pwned. afterwards, i went back to the calnus and made some weapons from the moonstones that i duplicated. got the moonstone sword for edge, photon cannon for bacchus and the quadratic (?) scythe for arumat. just need to find a symbol booster to get myuria a better staff... then level some more! man this guy's tough.

I beat this guy using Meracle solo at level 104. Kept blindsiding and using X-Claw. He was tough as hell and killed rest of my party in seconds (with 80,000hp each thats kinda scary...)

Just tried this for the first time at level 175 and got my ass handed to me.
I did a lot of damage, but with two melee characters (stationary), they were going down fast. And for some reason, he loves taking down Sarah first.

NOW THIS WAS ONE HELL OF A FIGHT and i was 160 or so when i killed him... His 3rd Form is by far the worst but FUN he will HAMMER YOU DOWN because his damage and Def and He is faster and uses that Lighting Ball attack sonner than the first time
BUT Gabe is more funner than Queen.... because i absolutly hate Super Nova.... I fight her and lost... She went after Sarah alot...

Make sure youre at least 100 before you go into the cave of the seven stars. thats what i found to be easiest. just level up in the palace of creation and the other areas. build up exp boost tiles(the blue ones) fighting Forsaken Beasts help alot. they give you about 72,000 exp when you fight one. and if you get in an ambush, you can get 20% more exp. just keep at it, and you will level up in no time

Beat him about 2 days ago. That's exactly what I did. Thank you though. Just tried the WD and got my ass handed to me on Floor 10 by Armaros Manifest II T_T. I looked it up after dying though and apparently high leveled meracle+drill spike = Win on him. So back to getting all that monster data then power leveling in WD for hours on end... -_-.

I Beat Gabby Ceste at level 125, with the team of Edge, Arumat, Reimi, and Lymle. I stocked up on resurrection supplies[[i.e: resurrection units/elixirs]] and whenever lymle wasnt able to heal and there were two dead, i just threw out a Rezz unit, and then cast Faerie healing. Gabby wasnt hard at all, just took patience. Havent got to E.Q yet. Havent tried. im going to go through and get other achievements during my play on universe, and the beat Chaos, then just do it on my galaxy level account

My group is Arumat (dumb choice for Gabe, I know), Reimi, Bacchus. and Sarah. They're all lvl 160ish and my first attempt was fail. Should i turn off Sarah's non healing symbols? Was it just because I didn't stock up on resurrection units? Should i get 'em higher? should i synthesis more of my gear? Do i just suck? Tips please?

I got all the Special Gear and Weapons and all chars Maxed level, It took awhile to get 50% battle rewards for Sarah, Arumat ,Edge, and Meracle. those the ones I used.

Dude, I was feeling the same way I was like lvl 131 with edge and my other party members (Arumat, Myuria, Sarah) and holy fuck it was hard I have no idea how I did it I just kept using rush combos but now it makes me scared to even fight EQ :(

Gabriel is very easy compared to Iseria/Ethereal Queen. I beat Gabriel without too much trouble around Lvl 150, but when I fought EQ everyone was Lvl 200 and it took me almost an hour because I was constantly rezzing people.
I think Lvl 131 is probably a little too low for Gabriel though. Just use the Metal Scumbag trick and you can have everyone up to 200 in less than an hour. I'm working on getting my characters up to 255 now for my second attempt on EQ.

Seven Star Dungeon, Level 6 Has alot, just fight the purple crab things and they have Metal scumbag in der pt =).
you can make 1 mil sp person fight if all ur chars max +20% exp on armour,aces,wep, everything.I leveled from 90-200 in 2-3 hours.

synth Curry Rice with all ur equipment if you equipment has already has effect on it like this
+5 int (or etc...) then you can just add both curry rice. if it doesnt have anything which is good its kind of better like this.
+20% exp
+1 ATK
(then add w/e here that has 1 effect)
+20% exp
so you dont have the other thing like the +1 atk crap.

Hey just outta curiosity... i've leveled up all my characters to 200 (too lazy at the moment to get their battle trophies). Here's my build Edge-238, Sarah-200, Arumat-200/Meracle-151. I used Meracle to start instead of Arumat and only switched Meracle out if I needed to revive teammates and such. So with these characters I took on 6 winged gabe rather easily, i've heard 6 winged gabe is pretty similar to EQ so should I take her on? Or should I continue leveling Meracle and getting BT's?

Personally, I think even 6 Winged Gabriel is easier than 2 Winged Ethereal Queen. While the damage they deal might be about the same, the problem is that with Supernova, Ethereal Queen kills off more people at one time than Gabriel. It's up to you - I beat her at level 200, but it was very hard.

Well, I got Meracle to 200 so I have
Edge-255/Meracle-200/Myuria-200/Sarah-200/ then my backups Arumat and Bacchus. Arumats at 200 but Bacchus is only 140 or so but anyways.
I can't even afford many of the new equipments i tried the Scumbag stealing money trick but they don't even attack me and run away :l any ideas?
And I don't have a problem fighting the bosses but it's just the god damn geostone parts of the dungeon I always leave and come back but theres always atleast one any ideas?

Ok, well Geostones are really hard to find in Wandering Dungeon of course.
But heres a Tip.
[Lymle's skill Parapsychology increases the Drop rate from Undead enemies.]
A.Simple Put Lymle in your pt.
sense there are alot undead I got Geostones Really fast kind of. If Lymle is not Leveled up have her do nothing and they wont atk her.

Also, in the US version, the text seems a bit harder to read...
