  • on I-35 you have to drive 55 for about a 4.7 mile stretch from just south of Riverside Blvd. to just south of the 51st St. overpass.

    (mile 233.3-237.95) speed limit 55 4.65mi 50th St-Riv. Blvd.

  • Now that I watch this video again after i've been here, I-35 in certainly something to avoid. Glad I live nowhere NEAR it. I love that song, by the way. I might use it on a video sometime.

  • @FreewayTitan: Meh, I'd like to come back sometime and record this with my new camcorder. Maybe this summer.

  • @FreewayBrent As brutal as it is, it's a very cool drive, with the double-decker and numerous interchanges along the way-- not to mention the good downtown and UT Campus views.

  • @FreewayBrent One other thing you may want to do when you re-film is start up at 45 Toll and not go so far south. I would go down to Stassney at the most. :) That'd be great to swing through Austin.

  • I C several trucks in 1:52~1:57 going against the traffic regulation called "No truck left lane." >o<

  • nice video this is the route I take home from work every day I enter I35 south bound at us 290 and exit on wm cannon, one exit before slaughter. The flyover ramps at the 71/290 exchange are now under construction to be completed soon I hope

  • the name of this song is? please

    regards

  • @chiquiona: Catchy song, huh? :-) The song is by Ida Corr & Fedde Le Grand, and the title is "Let Me Think About It" (Club Mix). I also list the song artist and title at the end of every video, for your convenience. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice one, Brent.

  • official txdot information release info .. us-290 east of austin will now be transformed into a major tollroad featuring about a 12-14 lanes of traffic .. so the interchange at the beginning of this video will be rebuilt im sure

  • est completion is 2015 i believe

  • Absolutely great video. The part of I-35 inbetween 1:55 and 2:35 reminds me of the old secftion of I-90/94(Kennedy Expressway) in Chicago, where there used to be exit ramps on each block it passed under. IDOT smartly modified 90/94 5(?, or more) years ago, so that now there only are exit and entrance ramps every 2 blocks. Although, it still has the problem of short spaces to merge on the entrance ramps.

I-35 has many good interchanges with other expressways, probably US-290 is my favorite.

  • Great tune! What is the skyscraper being built that is seen when passing the downtown area?

  • lol, I have nooo idea. I'll ask my buddy, who lives in town, if he knows, when he flies back from Sacramento tomorrow night.

Up next; I-35 in the North Austin metro region. It's already on YouTube; I just need to annotations, before I make it public.

  • haha .. this is good . finally one of your vids that i actually recognize the exact place your at ..

austin did seem really nice with the freeway system. also in though to add future construction to build on to the existing freeway interchanges

    bad ass video 5 star

  • Nice and clear. Thanks.

  • I-35E in Dallas carries 276,000 AADT ;)

  • Hey Chris. Would you mind providing me a link to your source? My official 2007 TxDOT traffic count map indicates the busiest stretch in Dallas at 239,000 AADT for I-35E in Dallas.

  • Nice work, the US-290 interchange at 3:20 truly is impressive.
