Suffocation has a great sound and for the most part their albums were better produced, except Breeding the Spawn. IMO Suffocation is just tighter and more polished than Cannibal. Not to say Cannibal isn't good in their own right. I just prefered Barnes pre-The Bleeding vocals. George wasn't a bad replacement though. He did a few lines on Effigy...Is Barnes even still with 6 Feet Under?

napalm death is grindcore, this is brutal death. suffocation kicks ass and whips cannibal corpse anyday. suffocation and dying fetus are my two fav death metal bands, but i couldnt say which one i like better they both kick serious ass.
About the drums: listen to the new self-titled. Mike Smith is realy an amazingly talented drummer, and can play much more different (blast)beats then what you hear here; much faster also
the self titled album was great, however i was much more into Peirced from Within and Despise the sun. especially DTS. the drumming on that album was KILLER! great fuckin band here.
