Carlin has never sounded more disjointed than this video. I think he is a brilliant and incisive comedian/philosopher, but this video doesn't show him at his best. 'Hard work is genetic.' A smart man once said, it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a world that is profoundly sick. Some of us have less tolerance for such sickness than others. That doesn't mean those who have less tolerance for this worlds sickness are somewhat less intelligent.

It's just that speaking a large amount of truth - which since it usually hurts more than makes people feel warm in fuzzy inside doesn't make people happy. Most people want to believe the myths they've grown up with (some myths have a speck of historical truth) so humor is a necessary medium for the message. In his later years George really nailed it with speaking lots of truth. Problem is it takes someone with nothing to lose to do so -people late in careers.
