I thought they have to do something about the hernia. Second opinion is necessary. I have a lump on the left side right after my surgery it's been a year and I have having it removed. Dr. on base don't know what it is maybe they left the tube in there. I've had Cat Scans and sonograms and it shows nothing... But, the lump is there plus it is painful at times.

yeah, you see weight can push the stomach up in the chest causing..well... the hernia, because the fatty deposits push against the stomach because the deposits can get into the darndest places, you know.. So they told me if I lost the weight and I'm STILL having problems then they'll do something about it...and it's great your getting the lump removed, I wish you luck, and I find it weird also that they don't know what it is, but sometimes they have to see it with their own eyes, it's how it is

Actually, weight gain can cause numerous medical difficulties, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and so, on so, I guess the ONLY thing we can do is watch what we eat and exercise/walk. Yeah, weird that they could not see what's in there. Good luck to you!!!

it all depends. they might have to send you to a specialist. I had an eye infection and they thought it was pink eye, but it wasn't. they didn't know what they were. so i went to a specialist and he told me what they were in like 5 minutes.

you might want to ask which doctors specialize in hernias. maybe the a gastro-entymologist. spelling might be bad
