  • Just, enjoy

  • My first time was early

My first time was early "79 at Boutwell Auditorium warming up for AC/DC, Bon Scott"s last tour in B"ham Alabama. The next time was July 4th 1980 in my hometown of Gadsden,Al. with Blackfoot. They were the beat each time. Still the best!! My bad, thought they were from Chorlotte N.C. not HOT"LANA which is only 110 mi. from home.

  • Sorry but they sound nothing like Fleetwood Mac or Tina Turner.

  • Pure Funk Rock. One of the best and most underrated band's ever. Oh Baby Love, yes, saw them twice, great live show.Thank you North Carolina.

  • Nothing happened to them, dude. They're still playin' out all over the world. I filmed them 6/11/11 at the Fox Atlanta. It's on my page now. HiFi and HiDef.

  • We're a funk and rock influenced band from Georgia, and we're actually working with Mother's Finest's producer in August! Anybody who likes this might like our music too, so please give it a listen!

  • Janice Joplin could have bust this. Teena Marie could have done a great job, too. and Christina Aguillara would make it a Number One Jam. That was a stupid statement to make. Can't Nobdy do it like Christina's lil' fine ass.

  • I'd love to see Crystal Bowersox and Frankie May cover this.

  • Read these lyrics," if you're a guy and you can make a girl feel like this about you, You have rocked her world!" Pete Moss

  • Thank you for the backstage "smokin" in 76, @ the PAC in Tampa, FLA You guys were very sweet and nice to me.

  • great song. everlast.

  • Mother's Finest is that one band i like that makes me feel all superior when i meet someone who doesn't know about them - "You've never heard of Mother's Finest? Hmmm."

  • I MISS FUNKY ROCK 'N' ROLL!!! Thanks for the memories!

  • I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS IN 30 YRS. AND WOW!! UTTERLY FANTASTIC, UNBELIEVABLE VOCALS, PUNCHY DRUMS, AND BOOMING BASS. AND THE VOCAL STELLAR!! EVERY NOTE IS CLEAR AND STRONG!! GOING TO FIND THIS ALBUM AND BUY IT NOW!!

  • @1959yancy I had to order mine but it was worth it, I saw them in a 250 seat club outside atlanta. Was able to get the cd signed by all.

  • Before making it famous, Mothers Finest used to live in the same apartment complex that me and my family did when I was very young. My parents said they used to play the complex club house for the tenants for free every so often. Awesome band.

  • @SouthernKudzu You must have lived out near Glenwood Ave.

  • @dcox3jsu Your guess would be better than mine. I was mabye 5 at the time, but that's probably correct. That's back when the Blue Bird bus stop sign was higher than I-20 and the C&S Bank tower was the talest building in Atlanta.

  • Cain't NOBODY 'bring da funk' and lay it down like this lil' o' Georgia band can!!!!

If you EVER get the chance to see them GO! GO! GO!

You'll be damn glad you did!

Baby Joyce K. has a superstar's voice and why she ain't one should be a crime!!!

  • I'm singing this to my man at our wedding. He loves Jimi Hendrix and he will love me singing this to him

  • great,.,great song great time

  • The original-- love it!

  • Nice to see all of the "old schoolers" voicing their opinions on YOUTUBE! We all knew that the first time we heard this band, that there was something special about MF. These guys dusted their contemporaries, and often as an opening act, blew the headliner off the stage! (Aerosmith/MF @ the OMNI 1981). MF is timeless, and Joyce, Glenn, and Wyz seem to never age! Keep on showing em' how it's done MOTHER'S FINEST!!

  • Here would be the ultimate afro power rock concert (female vocalists);

    1. Joyce Kennedy

    2. Tina Turner

    3. Nona Hendryx

  • JOYCE KENNEDY ROCKS!

    That's My Baby Sister!

I love Glen and Wizard you are BAD Brother!

    Randy Bluesman

  • One more Fine example of good music from the 70s that doesn't get played anymore ...Maybe on some 'classic funk' station it does (if such a thing exists). But 'back in the day' as we say this was played on my (not so very narrowly formatted) rock station. (About 6 yrs later they went top40, but it was good while it lasted.) It ain't classic rock, fer ser'. But it's good stuff. ...One more Fine example of why classic rock stations suck... more than we remember.

  • @marmas58ink I couldn't agree any more. Loved this group and always will. Their my home town too. And do I hear them on stations around town? No. I just don't get it. Great artist oposode to the stupid brainless idiots I hear on the radio now? Just don't get it.

  • Those Germans got something to love ;)

  • Everyone who has commeted and or watched these vids of MF, spread the word!!

This band deserves to be noticed by the people

  • Helen Schneider - I love here....

  • Another Kick ass Atlanta group of the 70's

  • I know a crackhead who has a MF tattoo on his face its really cool man

  • @BurritoDiablo Get out?! No way!

  • @Gigi64Marie1 Yeah, it runs all the way over his head like a sideburn. thanks to him I know about Mothers Finest and I think it kicks ass, though it's music from way before my time..

  • @BurritoDiablo Love to see that ink!

  • This takes me back to my younger years! Oh my what good times I had listening to Mothers Finest! Whooo!

  • Good job with the lyrics

  • Mother's Finest ROCKS!!!!! Love this song....

  • Great song. One of the sickest funk-rock songs around!!!

  • As a native of At.l I remember when this came out. I was a kid (12yrs old) but I knew then it was something special and still is. Aint no white girl can sing like this!!

  • "Aint no white girl can sing like this!! "

Why on earth would you make this comment?... Why is race the first thing that comes to your mind when you are listening to music you enjoy????

  • The comment wasn't meant to be offensive. I spent a day shopping and listening to the radio with my kids and was compelled to play this and a few other songs when we got home so they could hear some ''real music''

  • @unklejman I agree, unklejman~ and I beg to differ, with the 'white girl' comment (to whoever)! I'm a singer of 30 yrs or so and in '82 I believe my sister Sheree did a pretty awesome job singing this song with Mother Funk! (we are white girls with sum blues goin on)

  • @unklejman I agree with you. Love this song, white black, purple, I love this song.

  • @unklejman go to pink floyd and listen to great gig in the sky from the impulse tour...that white girl blows.......talent has no racial boundaries and neither shoud we!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @unklejman because its funny and to a large extent true. A good chunk of black people have pleasing tone quality to their voices.

  • @unklejman

It's true. It's not racist. It's simple fact.

  • @george8404 ...um this may make your brain explode, but there a plenty of white females who can blow just like this. Granted, I've heard them all in a gospel choir setting, but they have this same range and soul. Plz let the race thing go.

  • I like the second verse it's cool

  • Sooooo glad to see the number of views for the best, funkiest, hardest rockin' most deservin' baddest ass band of all time!!! Lover since 1976. Funk Rock Forever courtesy of MOTHER'S FINEST!!!!!

  • Im playing this song with my band.

I play this song on a 7-string guitar, so we turned this into a hard funk rock song. so cool.

    Love this song.

  • damn. make a cover record it and let me know; I'm sure it'll fit to the song. your bassist uses a 5 string bass?

  • Nope, he tunes to drop D :).

We are gonna perform it on Thursday and Friday.

My mom is gonna see it, and she will record it. Then i'll upload on youtube :). its a damn nice song!

  • for sure. it rocks. I use a 5 string bass; your bassist should think of getting one, too, it's more versaitle (i know, i have 4 string and 5 string basses ) ;-)

let me know when you upload it.

  • Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeah Baby Love....I LOVE IT! Funk it up!

  • This is one of the BEST songs ever!

  • mehr geht nicht!!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • VALERIE,GLAD YOUR BACK !!!

  • Hard and funky.... nasty.

  • VALERIE

  • and to think I was asked to join the band to replace the keyboard player '84 at wyzard "crib". Sly Stone was to be the head liner.... well the days done by - bless yall

  • i found these guys a couple of months ago!! God! they are incredible!!!, in my opinion one of music´s industry most niglected band!!!

  • I am from Atlanta, This group represents Atlanta well, Funk, Soul, Gospel and will rock your face off. My favorite band since I was 16 and that was in 1976. They have never failed to thrill my soul!

  • einfach toll :)

  • This song brings back such good memories! Watched them live many times in the ATL area in the late '70s. Just bought the CD again for my 17 year old daughter who knows a good sound when she hears it.

  • I send this to my girl, and well, she is my baby love. and much more...great song, try sendn it to someone you care about, it will take it to the next level

    thank U for the LOVE

  • Great Post. One of the Greatest Band's of the 70's. Still listening to "Love Changes", one of the greatest love songs of all time. Joyce Kennedy can down right BLOW!!!

  • Good song! I love the rhytmic shifts between sections!

  • Andi766,what makes you so professional to go shouting this song really sucks?

What do you know about music huh?

It might not be your taste, but that's it ok?

Mothers Finest is a legend, you don't seem to realize that.

  • Andi766 1. You amaze me with your "professionel" opinion 2. Go fuck yourself.

  • Yeah Andi is it? Your an idiot and you obviously are a doush bag as well. And Thank you gdrbs427 for confirming that. you are wisw. Andi said he was a professional? Yeah a professional dickhead.

  • afeneafene, I have been a Mother's Finest fanatic since I first heard Dis Go Dis Way, Dis Go Dat Way in 1977. They are one of the best bands in music history, with the least recognition by the public at large. They are still huge in Europe. They mixed Sly and the Family Stone with Led Zepplin and created funk rock magic.

  • Andi766. 1. Learn to spell. 2. Nobody gives a flying fuck what you think.

  • Joyce Kennedy is a champion. Powerful, quality voice.

  • OMG!! I swear this is my favorite song by MF. I practiced to this song many many times and I still can't nail it like Joyce. Love the funk rock. Check out some of my funk on my page. - Satina

  • saw them late 90's in elberton, georgia, town square ... went to the ONLY restaurant in elberton prior to show and joyce and band were there.... i jumped up and hugged my sister joyce ... and thank'd her for the luv!!!!

    joyce is family

  • Another great offspring of the Atlanta music scene. Rock on guys!

  • what a great tune......letz rock guys ;o)

  • Wow, I was also checking Adam confessional and he talked about this group. I am impressed and happy to have found it. Thanks Adam.

  • proves he has excellent taste, in line with 40somethin soccer moms who have loved them fro 30 years!!! joyce is family

  • Just timeless. My son 18 years old heard this song and was astonished.

  • Classic. They don't have this type of soul around anymore... (Unless you are an "old schooler").

  • I'm bringing it back baby. Stay tuned for the name K.C. Cristian, Rock/Funk/Soul artist. Alright now!!!

  • This song accompanies me since about30 years and everytime it´s great to listen to it.!

It doesn´t matter if youre feeling fine, or down n out,- its simply energising.

  • i wear my mothers tights.......she caught me wanking in a sock last friday when she came home from bingo....

  • And this has to do with this song how?
