  • Sounds like a crystler to me

  • @MyNameIsAwes0me - Don't feel bad, Oh Awesome One, not everybody has an ear for engines.

  • its a 351 cleveland

  • how much hp does this thing produce? i have always wanted to know what a classic ford would run blown...

  • @tapsomebong14 its 600hp going by the 1st movie

  • that made me drool

  • Very cool sound, definitely sounds like a Chevy 351.

  • @sookster54 - Thank you very much! Though that would be a Ford 351. Chevy made a 350. Either way, it's a happy, happy sound.

  • music to my ears

  • beautiful

  • This thing drinks 10 liters of fuel in 5minutes in cold weather.

  • @toddy67 - yes, that was in fact the original movie car. It was due to be scrapped but the scrapyard owner didn't have the heart and the car was "rescued" and toured a bit before being restored to its movie version and subsequently retired at a museum in England.

  • @kayleedee1 Yeah I belive that it's now at the "Cars of the Stars" museum, where it doesn'rt get driven anywhere. Can anyone think of anyting more cruel and pointless? If I had the car I'd drive it everywhere and hang the fuel cost!

  • your killing meeeeeeeeeeee

  • if you cut them on an angle they would crack so bad. I still haven't figured out the harmonics why but it does...

  • @codysk8ter95 - Nope, the 351 Cleveland is a V8.

  • Comment removed

  • @codysk8ter95 - Now you know what a 351 Cleveland V8 sounds like. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @codysk8ter95 - sayn all you like, I like the Cleveland, it's the proper engine.

  • @PatrolmanDark It was actually a hemi in the car on mad max, funny ay?

  • @justythrasher - That would be funny, if it were true. But nope, it wasn't a Chrysler engine, it was the one the car came with, the Ford 351 Cleveland.

  • @codysk8ter95 Cleveland has bigger valves.. just saying..

  • @codysk8ter95 With all of your unspoken wisdom how could you not tell it was a v8?

  • THIS is the sound of true Australia. Not some fucking kookaburra in the background and a dumbshit kangaroo hoping about. This is motherfucking shit right here! A true TUFF aussie!

  • Got wood?

  • What for is that air intake? Rear brake cooling? Is it wise to have your exhausts ending right in front of it? I know you couldn't or wouldn't help it because that's the original film setup, but I just wondered... By the way, do you know the 1:18 model of this car by AutoArt? IMO, they did a very good job in reproducing all that loving detail. Even the 4-1-4 exhaust and the booby trap are there.

  • @Oaldce That's a brake cooling duct. The exhaust, by the time it's traveled that far from the engine, has lost the majority of the heat. Yep, AutoArt did a great job of replicating my car, a beautiful job.

  • i just came ooh my FUCKING god !!! 8O

  • The Last of the V8s is the most beautiful car ever made. I cannot pin down what makes me love it so much, but I beleive watching it in action at the beginning of Road Warrior did it for me.

  • omg!!

    you lucky bastard.

    how can i sleep now.

  • Hats off to you! You've got a real gem there. I wonder how many gallons of fuel fit into these two barrels... "Fill her up... wait a second... where's my checkbook..."

  • They would contain roughly 40 gallons each, so that'd be 80 additional gallons. And if they were full of fuel, at roughly 6.5 pounds per gallon, that'd be an additional 520 pounds located high and behind the rear axle. Accelerate VERY carefully... :)

  • I take it you're not using them. But they are functional, aren't they, with all the detail built into this car? Well, accelerating shouldn't be that much of a problem with the tanks full. Cornering would be another matter though...

  • You're referring to yourself as a "curator" somewhere. Is it your job to preserve movie props? In Mad Max 2, the V8 was rolled down a slope before being blown up. Is this car really the one used in the first two Mad Max films? Was there really only one, btw? Or is this particular car "just" a replica? Love it, anyway...

  • It's my job to preserve this particular one. I do create movie props and special effects for my company, Outback FX. There was one car used in MM1, two cars used in MM2. The number two car was blown up. Number one is in a museum in England. This car is not just a replica, it was built for promotions and the documentary "Back 2 The Max", with the same level of detail as the first two by Scott Smith and some of the folks who built the first two.

  • I am a huge fan of this car, last v8 is almost as popular as the movie.

  • soo cool too see the exhaust beeing different on each pipe.. is it 4 ( on each side) all the way to the block?

  • Each side goes into its own muffler, then splits into four pipes.

  • cool

  • There is no other sound like the sound of V8 engine.I mean oldtime V8 engine not the new ones.Mark my words.

  • Consider your words marked and 'membered, sir.

  • thats beautiful and amazing in every way conceivable. you are the subject of my envy

  • your car is way too clean ;))))

  • Heh...I hear you. I've done it up dirty for a few appearances, but I found that the dirt was leaving marks in the paint. So, in order to preserve the paint, I try to keep it relatively clean. It's my job as curator to keep this baby beautiful and running.

  • How does the exhaust properly scavange with seperate pipes like that?

  • Because they are joined much earlier in the system, then split again nearer the end.

  • mmm no sound quit like a real v8 its one of those things in this world that just cant be faked

  • man thats amazing, all the cars in the mad max movies always had that amazing tyip of sound.

  • The big bored, 2 valve per cylinder v8 engines with the straight pipes, aftermarket air filters and the ignition timing. Great sounds :D

  • you oughta set up the injector stack trumpets as exhaust tips like off the movie

  • That was how it was in Mad Max. They were changed to this look for Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.

  • i just nuted on myself. sounds soooooooooooo oooo nice

  • Install some PulseStar plugs and the thing will fly! Sounds great!

  • I love the way it sounds, too. I'm sorry, the PulseStar plugs are snake oil. This baby flies really great right now. :)

  • Nice car just wondering are there 4 pipes on each sied coming straight from the headers or does it go into an exhaust then branch out into four?

  • Each side goes into it's own muffler, then splits into four.

  • Hubba Hubba... purr!

  • How do your pipes go? 4-2-1-2-4? or 4-1-4?

  • 4-1-4.

  • Then the engine is not running correctly. At least one cylinder is not firing (look at the right exhaust pipe).

  • The engine is running perfectly. The exhaust is combined early in the system, then splits. That pipe is closest to the engine, therefore less exhaust comes out of it, more comes out of the downstream ones where pressure begins to build in the system.

  • That would be incorrect. It's a 351 Cleveland (that's a V8). The exhaust is real, it's not animated or plumbed in from a smoke machine.

  • What the hell is it with people saying fake this fake that? I say jealous, that's a fuckin nice car and I don't give a shit if it's a V6 it sounds lovely

  • About 400 hp?

  • dude..we can tell your a noob if you are looking at the exhaust to determine the size of the engine.

whats the point anyway..an american V8 is one of the cheapest engines you can buy... 2500.00 3500.00

    like buying a friggin laptop..

  • We remember the Nightrider and we know who you are!

  • hey bronz watch out for the toe cutter

  • amazing car. that sound can almost make a grown man cry lol beautiful

  • pipe music and im not scotish thank god

  • idle is normal but when the car pulls away i get all teary eyed its so beautiful

  • Yummie. I just wet myself.

  • hey man what cost this car

    one of my favourite cars

and have the car really 600hp

  • It cost more than a year's salary. I don't know how much horsepower it's kicking out, I've never put it on a dyno.

  • That - was - beautiful. That V8 purrs like a kitten. Sweet.

  • made me cry!

  • this is really a simphony for who loves real cars!

  • yes!!!

oh dammit, i LOVE this sound

  • this is music for our ears, this car doesnt need a stereo radio cd system hahaha.

  • sweet

  • armi kisten

  • that sounds beastly. lol. is it for sale?

  • It's not my intent to sell, but if somebody approached me with the right amount of cash, I could be persuaded. But I must say, it'd have to be a huge amount of cash. :D

  • i don't blame you. too bad i've only got a couple grand to my name right now. considering you pretty much said the same thing i would have said if i were in your shoes, i'll bet you take comfort in the fact that you don't have to hear someone offer you 20 million dollars for your car. lol nice car bud.

  • uuuuuuu i like this sound

  • man i am so jealous... i'm sorry, i know its wrong but i just cant help it brother.

    IMPRESSIVE...

  • you are the best!!! if you look closely you see that exshousts are 4 of them very strong! i love muscle cars!!!

  • That'd be a V8, mate.

  • ouh touché

  • Don`t worry about gas prices... This is just a hobby. Im from Norway, and we have the highest gasprices in the world. About 10$ a gallon.... But I have a old V8 myselfe and It`s worth every drop of fuel... Very nice exhaust

  • Great vid, mate! Can you tell me,whats the maximum speed on that beast?

  • Cheers! I don't know. In the last video shot before it left Australia, Back 2 The Max, they show the speedo sweeping past 140mph. And that's as high as the speedo can show... :)

  • lucky you! our fuel in ireland is £6 a gallon! i wish our fuel was the equivilent of $6 a gallon, then i cud have one of those! :)

  • Reality is...here in Oz, they can't give V8's away.. we're pushing around 6 bucks a gallon!

    too bad really

  • I hear you. It's over 4 bucks a gallon here right now. Luckily I have something with a straight 6 that I can charm 30mph out of for daily commuting. But the Interceptor still owns the weekends. :)

  • i would give all of my possesions for that car lol. its so beautiful. its so fast. its so THE BEST!.

I love it. Interceptor v8 for life. lol

  • Thanks mate. I certainly agree. People always ask me what it cost. For me the important part is what I was willing to give for it. As you say, whatever it took.

  • Badass ride!

  • fap fap fap

  • Music to my ears, australia made one of the best cars ever, pure v8 muscle

  • perhaps it was the result of anxiety

  • Bwahahahhahaha....

  • Great car man. I worship the Australian Ford Falcon XB from Mad Max.

  • You wanna get outta here? Ya talk to me.

  • We still need to hook up sometime and put my little HD camera to good use!

    Merry Christmas by the by!

  • Indeed, sir! Did you receive my email a few days ago?

    Merry Xmas!

  • You should have a reply back Bronze...

  • Sounds soooo good!

  • did the cilinder clostest to the door light?

  • It did, that pipe always shows the least action.
