Thank you for posting this ....I wanted to make it to the seattle show, but could not. Mocha is so beautiful...I cant wait to see mocha at the next show...mew,mew,mew,catsonglue..
in case anyone is unsure which ones are mine - Mocha the Ragamuffin (first cat shown), Percy the Black and White Persian and Penny the Red Classic Tabby and White Exotic Shorthair (shorthaired Persian)
Great job to all of your kitties! So your cats are making quick work of the short and long haired categories. If you had a Sphynx or Peterbald in the HHP would they be grouped as "shorthair" or is there a hairless section?
LOL good question! They'd be shorthair - there's no bald category LOL Fact is, too, they aren't really hairless - they have a very thin layer of very short fur. We had a Sphynx in our ring one time - because it was born with a full coat of hair! It happens sometimes! Very interesting to note, too, is that there's tabbies and torties and torbies and all the other coat patterns even in Sphynx's! It's just obviously a bit more difficult to figure out LOL!
I love the Sphynx breed! There is a breeder in my area and they had this Sphynx kitten who had the whitest skin with these dark black patches, and it looked like a little cow. It was sooo cute. That's why Sphynx are so interesting, because you can see all the markings. Like tigers I guess? Lol, they have striped skin. A Sphynx and a tiger are a tad bit different though. XD
LOL thanks! She's a WONDERFUL kitty. Did you read her story in some of the other vids? Mocha was slated for euthanasia by her former owner. She was peeing on the lady's bed. Vet found nothing wrong so she said "Just put her to sleep - I don't want to deal with this anymore." Thankfully the vet scanned her for a chip and found that she had been chipped by the shelter I volunteer with - so back to us she came. I read her paperwork and found the woman had a "very active" three year old boy
(continued) And at the adoption event I was at with the shelter I noticed she was TERRIFIED of children - she must have been abused by that kid. She was very timid when I first got her so I just gave her space and let her came to me. I couldn't touch her face, paws, tail. She'd run if I tried to pick her up. Now she throws herself on my feet and sleeps pressed against the top of my head. And I can put her on her back on my lap and trim even her back claws - with her purring the entire time.
Just read your reply to my comment. I'm disgusted anyone would want to put a cat down - for peeing on the bed! The owners fault in the first place, getting a cat with a child like that. Poor Mocha was probably so stressed. I'd be peeing on the bed too LOL! Not too keen on people who get cats when they have very young, bratty children. Seems to be a path to excuses for declawing and a hard life for the kitty.
So pleased you got her and now she is happy. She is such a beautiful animal :)
Well this woman was evil all around. She also had her shaved to the skin "because long hair makes her lethargic" - huh? Thankfully she's now on our "Do not adopt" list which we share with all the shelters in the area - so she'll never be allowed to adopt again. Last show Mocha headbutted a three year old boy - I started crying. She's totally been rehabilitated and knows she's safe! :)
I could never go to a cat show; too much temptation to pet every cat in the place. I even have a bad habit of wanting to pet every cat I see on the street.
LOL well most people won't let you pet their cats since it's easy to transfer germs from cat to cat. I usually let people. I just have them use hand sanitizer first. One little kid started petting Penny on my lap while my head was turned at a show and she ended up smelling like the pizza that he'd just eaten LOL!!!
I found it is the same way in pet stores; I've learned to sanitize my hands before touching an animal. You can tell a good pet shop or owner that requests that you sanitize your hands before handling any animal.
Mocha looks like shes smiling for the camera :D

She talks when I say her name. So I was going "Mocha!" to get her to look at me and instead she just meowed and kept looking elsewhere LOL
