Wow this is so stupid, all you need to do is pour a little alchohol in the affected ear, ear up, wait a couple seconds, then point your ear down, water and the alchohol will pour out, bing bang boom problem solved, you don't need any damn vinegar and you sure as hell don't need to call your doctor, hell even if you don't get the water out immediately it will still come out when you go to sleep

actually it's not just water stuck in there. earwax forms a little ball that blocks your ear and water gets behind it. the vinegar and alcohol sometimes help to make the ball smaller so the water runs out and the ball flows with it.

I have been getting water stuck in my ear since swim team started. Sometimes, I go a whole day with water in my ear until I can get home and do something about it. What works for me is to lay on your side and have someone pour some vinegar in your ear. Leave it in for a few minutes, then pour it out and start shaking your head. Most of it should come out.

Easiest thing to do is, make sure your ear's not blocked before you leave the pool, if it is blocked then just hit the ear that's blocked against the water and it leaves instantly.
